For those who may not know, the reason Chinese wear red costumes and fly dragons during their New Year celebration is because red symbolizes good fortune and happiness in Chinese culture and the dragon symbolizes power and strength. This is also performed to bring in positive energy and chase away negative energy from the previous year.

"Gong Xi Fa Cai"… means Happy New Year.. Chinese New Year is Celebrated Like Srawan in Hindus and Thanksgiving in Christianity also known as Harvesting Festival. This festival is celebrated by Buddhist and Kongfuji religions followers. The biggest Festival in China is a 1 week long holiday like Ganesh Chaturthi in India and for Christmas in Western countries.

Do you know......dragon is vehicle of mahabodhisatva arya avalokiteshvara. We Indian Buddhist worshipe dragon as Naga and Hindu's Also worshiped Naga as form of lord shiva. Ganesha worshiped in China because according to Buddhism,Ganesha is a form of buddha Shakyamuni and also some people believed that Ganesh is a form of avalokiteshvara from his 108 forms.
