Emotional intelligence is what most dancehall fans lack. They take music literal and want the artists to be at odds in real life. And anyone affiliated with the artist is now viewed as an opp. Every song that gets out the first thing you hear dem and vloggers seh is "I wonder who him a throw shades offa" like pin point one line out of an entire song to talk about. Its sad. Additionally music is a business. Is not a friend ting. So when you see artist friendly with each other often times nuh money nah mek - of course artist can hang out and par n vibe but if a artist chooses not to be chummy chummy with everybody else you hear that he/she thinks she's more than dem or think he/she is better than dem. That's some bitch ass shit. See weh day Kranium and Stalk Ashley made a comment about a particular artist and people are surprised. Why? Because the narrative from the masses of people who don't know the artist personally always saying and doing the most. Producers pick dem side and until dem start talk up like Notnice did when him seh Popcaan said he will never forgive him for voicing Alkaline (heights of badmine this btw - nobody seems to talk about it tho - i wonder why) then every producer should just stay quiet. I wish Di Genius did say who that producer was.

Take for instance almost every dancehall artiste have or is currently building them own label bus them own producer is them own director etc and write them own lyrics as well. The solution is simple enuh - for example every producer regardless of sides or neutral make a riddim and reach out to who you to voice on it and everybody who turns you down because a next man on it you publicly out them - let the fans shame them and put pressure on them. If we want the culture to go forward hold the artists accountable. The artist will be artists and they will never like everyone bit is not a church choir artists don't need to be friends with each other. Its a business and producer should enforce that. Maybe I'm an idealist and in reality repercussions from outing artists who don't want to voice for whatever reasons probably will happen...unless that happens dancehall music will continue to be fragmented

My few cents, as a genre. Dancehall is seen as an authentic genre because if is origins. I hear Stephen on the point of this is a business. But we are not fake people that can fake things very well. So if an artist doesn't fuck with another artist you won't get them to work together despite it being a business. I don't blame. We aren't Americans that will fake it for the show. Our people will see thru it. Secondly. I'm with Naro on this. Producers need to stop the pick a side thing. It is killing the business side of things. Which is a separate thing from my first point of an artist-artist dispute.

Don also would release juggling riddims and the instrumental it self that other artists who weren't officially voiced on the riddim use to jump on it. What they did was put snippets of their voice on the instrumental so no other artists could jump on the riddims. Check it out. Nuff young upcoming artists use to utilize that Avenue to get a song a road
