My late husband adopted a dog. She wasn't trained, but she alerted us to his sugars drop. She saved his life more than once.
@RavenTheLabrador Жыл бұрын
Maybe the dog was doing something when your husband's sugar was low maybe it wasn't i don't know but as someone who trains these dogs I find it very unlikely that the dog would have alerted to it without knowing what to do and when because it is a very specific thing they have to look for and then alert to it. Anyways sorry your husband is no longer around 🦮👍✌

I feel like crying. Ive been type 1 diabetic since 5 years old. Im 23 now. I cant explain how horrifying it is to constantly manage life and death as a child. Too high can kill, too low can kill, you have to manage it yourself with the help of your caregivers. Its a brutal condition. Im so glad this little girl and her family have a service dog to help them. It wouldve made things easier for me growing up.

@Dany_Stormborn Жыл бұрын
Why judge that? 1st you don’t know if this was a recreation or spliced together from a different time… there’s a thousand reasons they may have been filming. Maybe they’re documenting the whole journey, they had footage of when it appears the dog was being trained. Maybe they wanted to have a video review for the center that trained her or something they were gifted. Maybe they wanted to show their loved ones their dog in action. Maybe they want to raise awareness & this wasn’t their 1st rodeo… Could be literally anything. Stop being so cynical and I promise you’ll be a happier human. Although I do wish you happiness & joy regardless. 💚❤️💚❤️

I don't understand what everybody is on about, 338 is high sure but it's not dangerous. I've been a type 1 diabetic for 18 years and I've had blood sugars that have been in the 300's dozens of times and the only effect they've had on me is making me pee more often. Hell, when I was first diagnosed as a diabetic my blood sugar was over 800 and I was completely stable. Despite all the extreme highs I've had over the years I haven't had a single incident that turned into a medical emergency, 338 life threatening my ass.

My dogs know when it's time to go somewhere or time to run around doing security. One of them even memorized our route and waited for me when it was time for me to pass through my route. My border collie could sense a person with a very intense desire for our stuff. She was perfectly calm and quiet until a lady several yards away approached. Then she went into guard mode. Sge began territorial barking. It was strange because she never does this in this type of public setting. Immediately the lady was in some type of desperation asking Do you have food, water, cigarettes???? My dog could sense her intense appetite for our stuff. She had just got out of the hospital for an over eating disorder. It was very strange but my dog could sense it from far away. I never trained her to do this.
