Hello Dr. Fazal, Thank you for this excellent lecture! I believe your summary diagram at time 20:19 contains an error ("decreased insulin in cells"). This error does not appear in the summary diagram at time 2:02. I want to point this out so that viewers will not be confused by the summary diagram at 20:19. Thank you!

My fiance passed in 2020,Travis was 48,Diabetic 2. He had been feeling sick. Had a fever. My pug also bit his 👋 thumb, I think she knew he was sick. HE had direah, we had a 900am.Dr appointment. HE passed as I was giving him CPR from 911-916am. I couldn't get air into his chest no matter how hard- I tried, I kept sweeping his mouth, A clear mucus like alien slime was so thick. It was blocking 🚫 the breath I was trying to give him. He was talking to me- Then he starry eyed leaned back, and we told one another we loved one another ♡ Thank you, God for that. But we stayed calm ,Justified his symptoms. Rationalizing and, convinced that we were OK 👍 to get to Dr. In am and he would be OK. But we were scared. I thought he had Covid. It was only April 6th 2020 and at that time - We Had zero cases reported in Connecticut. However NYC was climbing in infected patients. He was a child social worker. He worked with Father's and Children. He started the first Father Daughter dance here in Connecticut, He also independently started a diaper drive. He was a good man. We never made it to that 9am Dr appt. He was having a fever and direah. But we rationalizing and Justified symptoms 😢 bc we were scared. He never said, I can't breathe.... His sugar level was in 80"s! So his keytones were prob high according to what I'm listening. He passed in route at 9:25am. I gave CPR from 911-916am... I have a fire station across my street. Bf they got my door open I was yelling he needs sugar! I THOUGHT what I was seeing ,Low sugar pre coma symptoms. I never seen someone talking and so calm.😕 I think he was at peace, with going home. He said I love you. And those were his last words. Again I am grateful 🙏 for this.. But I still don't know what happened to him. In 2020, Drs werw saying Covid didn't have direah as a symptom. But he was hiding that 🤔 from me. I found a big mess in the bathroom the next day. He missed the toilet. Yet somehow had the strength to shower, and get dressed for Dr appt. Little did I know that was the last time ,I would see him. My point 👉 is GET TO ER. Travis was prob scared he would end up dying on a ventilator alone. As that was the only treatment in the early days of this plague. But again- Take your loved one to the Emergency room. It could save their lives! 💞💞💞💞💞💞 Thank u ,Doctor for explaining this to me. I'm not sure what happened. But he did say his lower back was hurting that night before.. Again his sugar level was in the 60 to 80 range, so the fire ,and EMTs weren't saying much. They were asking me ,If he's ever had a heart attack before? And @48 ,I said no. I saw he was tracking his heart rate on his phone - 3 weeks bf he passed. But he never told me. Again, I think he knew. And his sprit left his body,Before the Emts came in the house. I knew he was gone. I prayed 🙏 they could get him back. But the Heart machine they had on him . Said DO not shock. He had a low heart beat, My CPR worked. But, knew deep down he was gone. ' Ty for helping others understand 💓 ' Rest easy Travis West 🙏 Connecticut, USA 🇺🇸 I miss you.

Beware, there is a new form of DKA called euglycemic DKA (normoglycemic DKA) which happens rarely if a T2D patient takes an SGLT2 inhibitor. This DKA is characterized by normoglycemia i.e. BG < 200 or 250 mg/dl
