Diablo 2: Resurrected updates the graphics of a great, classic action RPG for a new generation. It masterfully preserves the mood of a singular game, and at the same time it preserves the gameplay as it has been for over a decade - mostly for better, occasionally for worse. Unfortunately, parts of that gameplay that were standard 20 years ago just look bad now, or feel like a waste of our time. Those looking for the old king can find it right here, but they might want to politely bow rather than kneel.

For necromancer, 20 points in skeletons, 20 points in skeleton mastery, 1 point in clay golem, 20 points in golem mastery, throw a couple points in amplify damage and lower resistances curse, and a couple points in corpse explosion.

For zeal/fanaticism paladin put 20 points into zeal and any other skills that amplify the damage/effectiveness of zeal (they will be listed on the skill tree when you hover your mouse over zeal), 20 points in fanaticism aura, and remaining points in holy shield. Make sure you have a lot of life and mana leach % because you will be in the thick of things.

Ign is dumb af it was intended to be graphical update with a few tweaks and keeping everything else like the original, why do you think after 20 years, with all this torchlight, poe, diablo 3 and other arpgs, people are still playing the original? Diablo 2 is the best arpg ever made, and this remake, even though could have been a little better because there is always room for improvement did it justice, the fact that they respected the essence, ambiance, and the gameplay of the original game even if it meant not turning it into a more casual player - friendly focus, which is what most true diablo fans would have hated.

A remaster of an old game should not be criticized by its dated features and gameplay but instead by its truthfulness to the source material, especially if the source material was and still is beloved by many people today. This is me and my friends first time playing D2 and we are having a blast. Both solo and coop. You can't speak for an audience you don't know and say that those new to the game probably wont like it. This is a remaster after all. If people go in expecting a brand new game then they are sorely mistaken. It's like criticizing dark souls based on the difficulty of the game and say that newcomers to the series won't like it. This review is unprofessional.

Resurrected are for those who love not only the fresh start of each new character they create, but also those itching to get to hell diff just to mf specific items and enjoy the slot machine of lower kurast high rune farming. IGN alway have this "lying" feeling in their reviews. Like half of what this guy is saying is not by experience whatsoever but instead by learning it from reading community posts and articles. He literally went to Blizzard forums to see what the long time gamers were complaining about to put it in the review.

You better dont do something like this. You clearly hate diablo 2 or maybe current blizzard team. Playing diablo 2 is tiring. Ask everybody that loves it. Years of killing same monster without getting what you want. Boring? You can go back everytime you want to back. Nobody forces you to stay in there. That is Diablo 2. And people love it for its hardcore RNG buff.

Diablo 2 was 10 times the game Diablo 3 was... On more than one front: better items with better class custom items, better story, better classes, no cartoon graphics, dark story (no seseme street story like Diablo 3), better bosses that are original and not trying too hard to be a boss like in Diablo 3, better progression from area to area, and more memorable. Also the items in Diablo 3 really left no reason to trade between friends. Its not even a question which game was and is better.

@@juantsu2000 No. Final Fantasy VII Remake, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Rachet and Clank are remakes. They reworked technical, story, and game play aspects. D2R is a remaster. They remastered the visuals. The new 3D graphics engine layer sits on top of the old 2D framework. They did not change gameplay in any significant way. It is, however, a very faithful remaster.

Seriously it's the easiest thing to do in this game, basically if you don't know the builds you're more likely to get stuck with bad builds that get you stuck on act 2.

@@mattjohnston7299 Yes, that and the fact that most skills are "noob traps", meaning they are useless or completely overshadowed by a handful of skills. Which is a big problem with build variety and not very friendly to new players. The times where we had hundreds of hours to invest in a single game until we figured out the right way to play are gone.

If he said something negative about having to dedicate to a build, I'd understand, but this guy just broadly states that the game is grindy despite the fact that he did not invest into his strengths and insteady became a jack of all trades, which you can't get away with in this game

Trying to remake such a classic, especially with it being so revered and exaggerated, was never going to satisfy everyone. Any approach they took would be controversial. Had they tried to fix or change the issues and systems, people would complain they’re diluting or ruining the experience. Keep them? You have to deal with the dated design. There was no way to make everyone happy
