I think what makes Diablo 2 so great is what you covered in the first 5 minutes in this video. There are so many different ways to build these characters. So many different ways and combinations to playthrough this game.

Vengeance Paly was my first ever D2 LOD build. I’ve always hated that it doesn’t get the love it deserves. It will never be OP and extremely fast, but it’s completely self-sufficient, safe, and successful.

There’s probably niche situations where you could use obedience runeword, but 99% of the time a non chargeadin paladin will use 1H weapon

@@blank5210 okay thanks. yea shield for resists and other stats seems more useful and can block enemy attacks too.

Paladins especially love shields because they can get spirit with all res pretty early.

@ogolthorp right there is that too. It is easier to make a spirit shield for paladin. Big boost to paladin survivability. And with vengeance you kill so slow you are more vulnerable.

Good timing MrLlama, I wanted to start this build from brand new character and not give him items, and recently I am playing only "no runes" run till I finish Hell, after that, it doesn't matter. Game is actually lot more fun when you don't use these broken runewords, because then you actively keep looking for good gear ,especially for melee builds (Zealot, any Barb, etc), because finding a good weapon is actually a b1tch. You really either have to grind or upgrade weapons via cube.

Llama should take one completed paladin and make a play through of builds that make sense after level 75. Like Dragondin, Tesladin

Does flat element damage scale with veng? Example 10-20 fire small charms

It does not scale. The bonus damage as fire/cold/light from the skill scales directly with physical damage. You’ll want max damage charms

He talks about it in the video but the raw dmg and +min/max malice gives is better then the attack speed from steel

I always drop the shield and drop the sword and just use my hands when I have Holy X.

One thing I Noticed (at least with paladin) you literally don't need any points into the DEX for all of act 1.
