You saved my bowazon with this, got a reaper yesterday on my Chaos run with my sorceress, a normal one, and had the G-face helmet, treachery on already and has become mighty at my low lv 79. Thank you from a new player, please guide us more with levelling tips and videos, we enjoy more to watch levelling videos than end game ones, as it will take us long to get there.

GG vid! You could also mention 11-15 LS from the Reaper's Toll witch is good for survivability, 15 STR from Guillaume's Face and its low lvl requirement witch helps his gearing from NM.

I'm playing with the PlugY mod and I'm currently lvl84 with my Druid and I also use a act2 merc with might aura. He just has a Bonehew with a Hel and an Amn rune, and it is working fine most of the time. Without the Hel rune, he would have to be lvl 96 or wear some better strength item. He is also wearing a Duskdeep and a Rockfleece that are upgraded to exceptional. But he dies on some stronger enemies, or on higher player lvls, if I'm not fast enough with the potions. Current Progress is: Tornado(20) Hurricane(20) Twister(20) Cyclone Armor(18) Oak Sage(12) Grizzly(1) But I am looking to max Cyclone and then Oak Sage. Just wearing Ghost Sword and Shield, and some rare and magic other gear. 4 perfect topas armor :) Currently working on hell act5. When I go to easier areas like Andariel or Countess, I switch my gear out so I have less resistances and skills, but up to 400 mf.

i got an etheral bonehew 2 sock with a good roll, is it usefull to use +40%dmg jewels on it, and maybe on helm too for really max damage. using all of this with concentration of my pala can push damage really high, especially with fortitude too ! it's a good idea i think, no ? i think decrep is useless when you one shot most of things, and i dont need my merc for kill boss

some rare items can actually get the decrepify mod . like some paladin scepters some bows and i believe some other items aswell . its rare to find one with good oder mods though .

I have this exact same setup on my javazon merc but he is a defiance merc and i need to socket my rToll with shael and gFace with a ias jewel like u to get that uber fast attack, would a might merc be better than defiance? One more question is for my cold sorc merc, right now he has a defiance merc aswell with treachery, andy helm (non socketed for now) and a eth great poleaxe insight, what should I socket my andy helm with and what type of merc should I have, is there a better option for a cold sorc than a defiance merc? I don’t think I wanna drop the insight coz i really like the virtually unlimited mana

hey D - i got a question about A2 Reaper toll setup... I have eth reaper toll with 15ias jewel in it, and you say 75 is BP for merc im currently using andy and fort and bought 15ias/FR jewel for andy, but even doing this, i won't hit the 75... (i'll hit 50 IAS) *is there lower BP that i can hit with this setup? *should i just go sell my andy/fort and buy Gface/treachery to hit the BP? plz lmk - thanks

The 2 breakpoints to shoot for with a reapers toll are either 45 ias or 75 ias. Either set up works. Fort and andies with a 15 ias fire res jewel and a 15 ias jewel in your eth reapers will get you passed the 45 bp. Its only slightly less fast then 75 ias so its not a big deal. You will do more raw dmg cuz of fort. But with the g face set up treachery and reapers you get more deadly strike and crushing blow plusbthe 15 dr from fade off treachery and reduced curse duration. They both good set ups nothing really wrong with either. But simple answer is shoot for 45 or 75 :) if you every need ias bp info use the titan seal attack speed calc. Will answer sll your questions. I included this site in the top 5 d2 websites video that i made a while back :)

An eth near perf reapers isn't even budget its a top tier weapon and bis in some situations. I actually use reapers on every char that doesn't need insight or infinity. And by need insight I mean can manage with just mana pots.

Also a non eth low roll reapers toll is better than a eth 15%ed perf obedience. The damage on reapers is insane with a shael socketed. Treachery armor and gface socketed with 15ias jewel.

in like 2009 they had a merc glich when you put infinity + dream helm + dragon armor with the 15 + shock aura and 15 + fire aura + infinity weaken all resists then you would take off the armor over n over again you would stack + 15 of each aura over and over again then just teleport around with enigma and everything gets 1 shot would own this merc build any day you're a noob i'm an OG peace I cnt believe ppl still play this but then again it's still such an amazing game just the sounds alone wake the memories lmao

@@sazger Call to Arms. A weapon that allows any character to use barbarian shouts. Very good to have, since you can just use it and then swap weapons back to your main gear. The shouts are extremely useful and they affect your party and your merc.

Kris Froehlich no might does not increase your tornado dmg. Decrep coming from your merc makes your tornados do a lot more dmg tho from reducing enemy physical resistances

Reaper Toll + Shael, Shaftstop + 15 ias jewel, Tal's Mask + 15 ias => the best budget merc. It's almost impossible to beat this combination with cheap items. Crushing Blow absolutely don't do anything. Only place where it can make some really small difference in typical game - it's Baal fight (and there is not that great chance that merc will actually hit Baal that often). Using Treachery => loosing res and 30% dr and obviously your merc is gonna die all the time with it. Chance to cast Fade are to low. If you just start the game and go for Travincal or Chaos Sanctuare then merc gonna die even before he will be able to cast Fade. Also, it's not that easy to beat Tal's mask. 15 ias + 10% life stolen per hit + @res + life. That + life not that much different than %dr. If you use Vampire Gaze then you lose ias or @res. If you use Andariel's with Ral you lose all res without gaining anything. Nope. Can't see how to beat it.

your set up is nice. but you cant hit the 75 ias bp. additionally, g face has more then 35 cb. 15 deadly strike. strength. 30 faster hit recovery. your set up is bit more defense oriented while reapers is a bit more offensive. both viable set ups tho. treachery ahs g face helps merc break 42 fhr bp.

It's almost impossible to hit 75 ias and keep him alive all the time. What's the point of 75 ias if he gonna die by first lighting of burning souls in World Stone Keep before he will be able to do something? FHR alone not gonna keep him alive. Only good thing about GFace 15 deadly strike... But that's like... meh... What's the purpose of this merc? Being a meat shield and maybe kill some Immune Monsters. What's immune monsters? Maybe leaders of boss packs, Lord De Seis, Infector of Souls, Pindleskin, some immune monsters in Baal waves. Only maybe in killing of Infector of Souls that's Treachery + Gface build can be noticeable better, but he's not gonna make that far in CS

Koh1fds honestly it depends on what merc style of merc you want to build. This one is obviously more offensive based and is susceptible to dieing from monster like souls as you mentioned before he procs fade. If you wanted you could substitute a socket with and increased attack speed all res jewel to help almost cap the res. This merc is really focused on being offensive at all costs. The decrep proc Will also help your character immensely if its physical based. It def trades some survivability for being offensive I'm not denying that. This merc build tho (with an eth reapers toll and 2 ruby jewels of fervor in reapers and helmet) is pretty much universally agreed on being the most offensive damaging pvm merc in d2 tho. Again I'm not saying you merc build is bad or that this merc build is the best just showing it off basically. That's all.

Well, I thought "hey a budget act 2 merc build" ... maybe I can actually use something you are highlighting .... LMAO, no ... The Reaper's Toll thresher is at best (best base chance, no MF) a 1:1000 unique weapon find .... and that's only on Hell difficulty .... I want something for my nightmare runs to GET me to Hell ... oh well, GGMA (good game, my ass) And speaking of difficulties ... I think in albeit only "hundreds" of hours I've played the game as opposed to all you pro-diablo-2-gamers out there tens of thousands of hours ... I think I've only found 1 single LEM rune in NM difficulty, so, yeah, making treachery is just not an option for me either, unfortunately, because even though it's a runeword I can actually make (it's not BNET / LADDER runeword only) ... just never get the runes to make it because I can't make it far enough Oh ... and, well, just forget everything because once you got to the merc's helmet, I realized you have to be using a modded version because your merc is using 2 socket-quest items. Then I looked at Reaper's Toll and realized it's a Ladder-only unique item anyway ... so yeah, just forget everything. I'll go back to playing D2 from like the dark ages or something (single player, no mods ... lmao)
