Great build guide as usual Rhykker I want to add that the Burning Axe of Sankis not only increases Fire Damage by 20% but the legendary effect is also a toughness buff, the effect does not explain itself in the item tooltip but it is basically a 35% damage taken reduce for 4 seconds which can be triggered on taking damage.

@Tasunke okay little math for you: 20% elemental dmg vs 50% more, 50% dmg reduction aso with berserker (with in geom close to 100% uptime with cooldown on gear). yeah not good for first pack but you should have it permanent up after the kill.

@@SuperStarkiller999 There is also a little math for you: My Berserker's Rage uptime changes from 61% to 68% when I include In-geom, also it's almost useless vs. the rift guardian, I'll stick with my 20% elemental damage then. Plus my first comment was not about viability of 1h weapons to begin with, I just wanted to point out the benefit of the Sankis axe effect.

I just recently started playing the game for the first time, been playing for about a week. After some messing around with different sets I started using a lightning variant of this build once I finally got the set pieces for it and it's been pretty effective so far. I put the build together before I watched this video but this guide has helped tweak my armor enchantments and cube buffs to push it up a bit higher. Can currently run through level 75 solo rifts pretty easily and can probably bump it up a bit higher. I can't wait to get my hands on some more ancient/primal gear to push it up to the next level and really see how far I can take it, plus its always satisfying to watch the rift guardian die in 2 seconds flat. Great guide, super helpful.

After playing D3 on my PC, PS3 & PS4, finally got a switch to play D3 on the go. Its freaking amazing.....so happy to start the journey for the fourth time. I am a PC gamer but D3 is much better with a gamepad. Thats why i am so happy that D4 will have Gamepad support on PC coz thats why i left D3 on PC and jumped to console when it was released. Great that the game is still alive an well coz its an amazing game, dont think a single player game could have stayed alive for over 7+ years.

@@andreweccles2556 no, i didn't know that; but i don't really care . Their cheating is not affecting me. Also there are cheaters on PS3 (maybe PS4 too) version but i didn't care much tbh. It a single player game for me, or couch coop. I don't get the point of cheating in a game like this but if they want to mod their way, so be it. i still enjoy the game 100% regardless as its not a competitive game; nor i am interested in any competitive aspect of gaming in general.

Thanks for this build guide. In season 22 your cold version idea worked for me. But not with the cold build you've suggested. With 1236 paragon and with two gems I was able to clear gr 100 with ease. Simplicity(90) and BOT(35), with these to gems alone were enough to clear gr 100 with ease. Thank you!

I'm really looking forward to playing this set this season. Probably my favourite build in all of D3. Keeps your shouts up(2 minutes per), and smash away. Currently I like to throw WW in there and use skullgrasp somewhere (instead of band or convention). One thing you might want to test out is cubing or using ring of grandeur, and then rocking rhimeheart and frostburn gloves. I always found a huge DPS boost with this combo. Combine that with the set bonus for cold and you're laughing! Awesome video, keep em coming!! More wolcen as well, please 😁

Build in the planner looks good, I think there is a viable alternative before you have all the perfect rolls, and might be good early on. With captain crimson, royal grandeur, and band of might worn, and cubing depth diggers and undisputed champion. You do miss some spike damage from convention of elements. but consistency is nice too.

So we're a bit into S20 and I'd like to give my opinion as of today on HotNS. My current build is as Rhykker describes here in the video with 4 exceptions: 1) I have primal Azurewrath and Mortick's Brace, 2) both primals are augmented around level 70, 3) paragon around 795 and 4) leaderboards right now show WW as top around 126 to 127. I ran a personal best of 105 and fully expect to break into the 120's with some min maxing. My gear is not optimized at all and has the potential to rival WW on the boards. I can say, as far as farming goes, bulkathos WW is hands down better which is to be expected. I have a farming set I use to farm GR 85-95's and T16 goblin hunting so it helps as far as time invested versus return. My recommendation is if you're pro WW, give this build a shot. It's a nice change of pace. This is coming from a vanilla WW barb. -KenKaniff

Once again, an awesome build guide. If you want to play around, experiment with pandemonium loop in the cube. Viable since fear is being used from echoing fury. I'm high level, and can easily run through a gr 110. Two primals, and only weapons haven't been augmented.

It is not nessecerry to use it , because frenzy lightning rune perma stuns mobs and you get all runes via belt.. Since blizz added stun dmg effect on the savages set , fear and freeze is not nessecerry anymore at all..

I am using Frostburn & Echoing Fury - instead of Elements I use Grandeur - you get 50% Chance to freeze + 20% increased frost damage instead of 25% from Azurewrath. Yes you loose a potential 100% on your rotation - but you will gain insane attack speed from Echoing Fury, without the downtime of Elements.

I would say use In-Geom if you are using Mortik's Bracers, but those bracers are not necessarily the best option. Particularly if you're NOT using In-Geom, it's better to switch out CoE for RoRG, and use the Aughild's Shoulders/Bracers set. More dmg and more toughness that way. With that option use Echoing Fury weapon. (The 2-piece dmg bonus to cc'd enemies is nearly useless at high lvl GRs because you're proccign short ccs very quickly, so the mobs become immune to CC in about 3-4 seconds. Immunity lasts 15 seconds. In speed runs you can kill them in that window, but in high GRS you've barely touched their healht when they go immune to CC, making that part of the set bonus useless except for zBarb support builds. For this reason, Echoing Fury far out-performs the cold/freeze weapon. They both have an irrelevant, useless CC affect, but Echoing Fury gives a nice attack/movement speed buff.) You get a 1.5 seconds stun, followed by .75s stun, followed by a .375s stun. = a total of 2.625 seconds of stun time followed by 15 seconds of immunity. That's 17.5% of the time during which you can do double dmg to the target. And that's assuming you do not have to move at all during any of those 3 random stun intervals that are so short you can't even see them. In short, this part of the set bonus has practically no effect, and should be disregarded. Since it's going to proc that useless stun anyway, which will make the monsters immune to cc including fear and freeze, adding fear or freeze to your gear has no effect. In theory, this would work a bit better in a group with a necro using frozen Land of the Dead. The short barb procs won't usually over-ride the longer LoD freeze, which means you'll have lots of up-time on freeze to hit mobs for double dmg. However in reality, LoD freezes mobs 3x in succession, for 5s,+2.5s+1.25s, for a total of 8.75 seconds, rather than one long freeze. This is significant, because as the first 5 seconds of freeze nears it's end, the barb's stun proc will over-ride the very end of it with a short .75 second stun, then a .375s stun, and then the mobs are immune to cc. So you'll actually be fucking up the Necro's LoD freeze. Gg blizz on designing this fail mechanic. As a general principle, lots of short CCs are always terrible in D3, and to be avoided. Their net impact is extremely negative rather than positive. GG, blizz on designing this mechanic. And that's why you should probably just skip the new barb set. It's not better than whirlwind, and it's less convenient to play. And it's not even going to be the top RGK spec in season 20(as one might expect) because necro gets to stack weapon buffs in the cube to kill them faster. (This prediction is what happened on PTR, not theory-crafting.) In Season 21, it might become the top RGK spec, but who knows what might change by then.

I just started this build because WW is boring. As a new player, someone advised to use the set reduction ring, so 5 pcs of Savages + 2 pcs of Aughild's, so you take less dmg and deal more (this way you get the 6 piece and the 3 piece bonuses). Just a note tho. It worked out for me. Downside is that you don't have the bracer bonus, but it makes up for it. (Aughild's: bracer + your weakest main setpiece)

I'm thinking... wouldn't Leap with 150% armor rune be better then furious charge? You can get it to 7sec cooldown without any effort and keep the band of might always up AND have a huge thoughnes buff for 4 sec after leaping. Fourious Charge doesn't give aything... Thoughts?

in season 20 you can put 2 weapons in cube, so you can use slanderer set weapons and put in cube 10 stack frenzy weapon and 50% attack speed on basic skill, thats 10 times better then 100% damage on pants you have in cube. you also may use royal ring with 2 set piece brasers and shoulders that give elite damage and damage reduction, thats probably not better then COE but its for sure more survivability, probably better for hardcore

Vambraces of Sescheron is also an option for Bracers. They give you up to 6% of your missing maximum life per hit. I wonder why you didn't give them a shout-out. Otherwise a good guide, except one minor mistake where you say that putting diamonds in chest armor gives you CDR. Ty!

Just made one non-season; it's pretty fun still. I havent pushed yet but it seems to still be effective and a lot of fun destroying absolutely everyone in T8. Damage is insane but survivability is not so great when WotB is on cooldown so I don't go above T9 (I can get kills easy but get 1 hit if I go any higher)

I'm using this build and, instead of going elemental damage, I'm using Hack and yellow gems in my weapons for an additional 60k+ damage. Only having the set, cube items, and weapons, it took me from T7 to T16.

i have 3900 para but first punch works fast but enemys go to low down and you stay in enemys no problems and with one hit you die and you can not long stay in enemy groups and enemys push you every time back etc

If you want to skip COE. Couldn't you put oathkeeper in cube (and equip band of might) and go The slanderer and little rogue for more survivability, dmg and attack speed? (30% in all of those instead of COE)

Hey Rhykker. What do you think about swapping the Convention with a Royal, then equipping the Depth diggers and cube the Messerschmidt's reaver for extra CDR? Convention is a temporary buff that you have to wait for 12 sec for a 4 sec 150-200% damage increasse, but if you get 100% uptime on Wrath it will give you 3400% weapon damage when you activat it, 300% 15 yards AOE on crit, 50% damage reduction and 50% more damage when active and that is without the accountig for the buffs on Wrath itself. Since it gives you more AOE, attack speed, crit, movement speed and damage, killing 2,25-2,7 enemies per sec(40-50% CDR) shoud not be a problem, or atleast give low downtime on Wrath. If timed correctly, it will give a huge buff both in damage and toughness for 20 sec(instead of a huge damage buff for 4 sec that you have to wait another 12 sec for again) and can be activated faster if the guardian spawns mobs. I think that would be a better build early or if you have truble with toughness, and i think it will help clear the rift faster :)

Compass rose and travelers pledge boost you while moving or standing still respectively. Focus and restraint are good alternatives because it give you damage boost while moving or standing still. Any thoughts?

Rimeheart would do very little in this case, since the set only increase Frenzy damage and not all damage, as of Frostburn, there are really no way to include it at all, since you would have to drop Depth Diggers, which makes no sense.

I'd switch out the ring/amulet set for band of might, get a second weapon in cube and then switch out the azurewrath for a shield and get the shield passive. Amulet can be whatever.

@Rhykker was this build created before knowing the buff for Season 20? Meaning that we can use in cube any power we want ( 3 rings or 3 weapons etc.). Is there other choice for the cube or those from the video are the best for this build?

Does the first set bonus mean that if i have 20% resistance, it will be 40%? And also if it lasts for 60 secods, will it last for 120 seconds?? Kindly address this

Pretty effective build, definitely in top 15 as mentioned in tier video, but it's soo boring to play. Granted I've already put 30 hours into wirlrend Barb so maybe my perspective onna nother melee build is a bit skewed, but I dun think so. It's just shout, frenzy, furious charge. Berserker mode for guardian, then done. Haha, maybe if I'm coming from a Necro build with having to keep bone armor up all the time this simplicity would be charming.

What about bracers? you`ll have about 45-55% uptime on berserk, useful only 2 runes: 50% dmg, 50% dmg reduction. Just choose 1 rune and drop bracers, cos they give only 45-55% of second rune. Parten defenders will give much more. What about Area Damage? is it even worth taking? How does it work with bloodshed rune? what about Frenzy splitting dmg between near enemies?

Oooo finnally...frenzy barb is what i wanna make to i made might of the earth set kinda half frenzy but was still trying to make work better so got good idea on how build a frenzy on already then i dicovered whirlwind set...lol...but im mostly a pestilence main for necro just like swithing things up :)

OK, I've been looking at basically ALL of the builds, and it seems NONE of these builds are using the SETS which Haedrig gives to the player for EACH class. So basically WE have to hope and pray we get what we're going to need or eventually make it before the season ends !

Once you have your season set from haedrig and can manage the higher tier rifts/grifts legendaries drop so often you will have every set for your class in no time at all, for specific items use the cube to upgrade rares you can literally finish a build within a few hours.

Long time lover of yours..... um, that wasn't meant to sound like it did. Anyways, It'd be really helpful if you showed what GR you're running in the video so we can know what to expect (also paragon). Mostly for us vets who want to see how we compare while we're getting there. Sometimes we're compensating rolls or alt legendaries until we get what's necessary. Thanks! You Rock da Casbah!

Cheers bud! You can see it at the start - GR 105. Not high, but only had a small amount of testing time on PTR. This was with non-perfect gear, zero augments, low paragon level, low gem level, and little practice, and the GR 105 was easy. The highest I saw someone do was a GR 138

Back when Diablo 3 came out Skorn was the best two handed but I never got it to drop :(
