Thanks for continuing to create these awesome D3 videos. I continue to comment in the case that Blizzard devs listen: There a many thousands of players on D3 who would spend money for an expansion and continuing seasons. Imagine how good it would be for the company if they have active players on all of the Diablo games. Just something to think about.

It's not even just that I am worried about. Builds, without a power increase in the season, are inherently capped at what they can do. That's just how it is; not all builds are equal. So, what happens when you push your build to its max? Create a new character. Do the same thing. Then what? If you don't choose an S tier build you have almost no shot at a 150 for even a good player since there is no passive power increase. Casual players will be capped at 110 or so at max is my guess. What am I going to continue to play for? There is nothing to unlock like the altar, no paragon to grind, and once my build is optimized there is nowhere left for me to go. If my build can only do 130, then I am stuck at 130 with no incremental power increase like we had in the old paragon. I like the idea of the cap, but the implementation is wrong here. In my opinion you have to balance a power decrease with some form of power increase. It doesn't need to be the altar, although that is the best single addition to the game yet. If they are going to cap paragon they should increase the base paragon stats you get, making them more valuable to you. Right now getting an extra 100% crit damage isn't going to make a 130 build viable for a 150. It just isn't. If they both increased the paragon cap a little(and I do mean a little, to like 1k or 1200 at most)and also increased the base stats they gave it might make for some very interesting choices. Or if you have a cap like this, make it so we can spend our paragon wherever we want, and not be limited to being required to spend 200 in a set that has garbage bonuses.

1 PA per hour would be great if all the useless ones just got erased from the drop pool. Last week GR guardian gave me 2 PA (+ 2 Altar bonus PA) Arthef Spark of Life, Irontoe Mudsputters, Witching Hour and some other random crap. To what end? The PA crafting tweak to the game is meaningful, however the PA which drop, still lack overall importance... Besides my time is much valuable and should the Altar come back stripped off the damage bonuses, I won't reach GR 150 solo ever again unless I farm like 5k PL, which requires massive portion of game time. So that doesn't seem more likely anyway.

@@CloudK23 Exp for paragon is the same, what we are seeing now is inherent power increases. Power increases mean being able to run higher GR quicker and faster. I was able to run 120s or higher on my wizard this season in less than 3 minutes consistently. With the right pylons I could do it in 2.5 or less. And my build wasn't a speed build on wiz. The power creep has come on lately, especially with the passive power granted by last season's altar. The builds are probably much stronger overall since the last time you played.

Definitely hyped for S29, I'm guessing I'll be done faster than the past few seasons with the low paragon cap, but I'm so happy for the SSF leaderboards. One really nice thing is I'll know for sure how I stack up without having to wonder if other players just have 1000+ more gons than me, maybe give me more motivation to improve my pushing and fishing skills

S29 isn't going to be much different for me. I'm normally pretty casual and play alone,, other than powerleveling groups of others to 70, and I often get 800-1200 paragon in the season, so a cap at 800 is going to be decently similar to what I'm used to.

10 seasons i said "hey maybe a paragon cap for season can be nice" now im not sure (ok they change the system of point this is cool ^^) but unlimited paragon give you an interest of playing. Every time you play you gain power. Now you can play 5 hours withe no upgrade. i dont know but after D4 i really need a good old D3 blasting x)

I think they have half-assed these changes. I wish they had also nerfed XP gain, so that, although 800 is low, it would still take a good while to get there. I think it would be fun, grinding to 800 slowly, and getting meaningful boosts to your power from your small amounts of paragon (because of the change they have made to the way you can assign it). They should make it so getting to 800 feels like an achievement, and something that not everyone reaches. Additionally, they should have nerfed drop rates, got rid of Haedrig's gift and made it harder to get LoD. Then we would have a game on our hands. You need legendaries, you need sets, you need paragon, but at the start you have mostly yellows and would need to fight your way up. The ability to do low GRs with crap gear would be truly important, and not just something you do for the GR20 season journey achievement. As I don't think they will do any of this, I have been liking comments saying "raise the cap". That's not the best direction though. Ideally, they would keep the cap but make it hard to reach, and make it harder to get gear also. TLDR, ARPGs need to have a grind. This is a chance to make the D3 grind more interesting than it has been up to now.

Capping to 800 is probl' a good thing to discourage botting. But loosing the auto-pickup is harmful. Not sure if i will spend more then a week on season 29. (note: I've been playing D3 since launch and played almost every season, yet I'm not even 5k paragon on normal, even after 11 years of playing. Last season i saw some of my friends doing 5k in less then a month, many got to 8k in just 2 months ...) So yes. I'm glad Blizz took action but I'm afraid it's too little too late.... The good-old-times where i reached (and stayed) in top 100 rankings have long-since been impossible for legit players.

However, the free chickens are slower than the free FOH from the Pony Build. Here's hoping jade gets a boost. Heck, all of the starting sets could use a small boost. I would love to see Bolas added to the shadow six piece. Earth could be great at speed GR90s with some love. Just want a big surprise for the final patch notes for season 29. ❤

In my PTR testing there were a decent amount of goblins and goblin clusters where you would get plenty of recipes. Not sure about the possibility of getting cache specific items. At least you will only need to run a few bounties and not need to farm them.

IMHO, 1200 tops. 1600 is two maxed stats per tab, but I think choices are more meaningful at 1200 for one stat maxed, one stat at half. Plus, 1600 is still a longer grind that folks are giving it credit for. I think a lot of blasters over-estimate how far most players go in a season.

Really great mechanic for SSF mode but seriously bad and disappointed they kept this cap mechanic for non SSF mode,. Now boredom will set in quickly and I will personally be done with the season within a week probably. Whereas if both options existed, SSF mode with cap and non SSF without, it would have given the players way more incentive and modes to play with in S29. But we're talking Blizzard here, where fun goes to die! (D4 being their latest example)

@@tomfassel6563 I already do, but you are missing the point that I am trying to get accross. By giving us a paragon cap in all mode (seasonal SSF, seasonal normal, seasonal hardcore SSF, seasonal hardcore normal) means all modes play essentially the same and thus giving us the gamers less variation for to play with. You can surely admit yourself that if Blizzard did give us the option of capped SSF and non capped SSF, there is way more gameplay, things to do & interest from all Diablo players. So as you said, not only can we play multiple classes & builds, we can do that in each of the modes (capped SSF, hardcord capped SSF, normal season non capped, normal season hardcore non capped, that is 4 EXTRA ways to play all my classes & builds, a month or two worth of fun!)

@@tomfassel6563 Playing multiple classes and builds isn't really changing, though. People do that now and will continue to do that. The problem is that once you get a good and optimized build there is nothing left to play for except searching for primals. And even then, you would have to get a perfect primal for it to even matter. A good ancient is better than a bad primal. What is the point to play once you play your characters to max power? It doesn't take that long to get an alt up, especially once you have one already at 70 and doing well. There is no way to make a fully optimized build more powerful and nothing else to play for except leaderboard chasing, which is not what 95% of the players do anyway. I like the paragon cap idea, but its not implemented well enough after the power surge we have seen the last few seasons. It's very difficult to give us the altar and then take it away and basically give us base power builds with no power creep from paragon.

They adjusted it so with max (200) Paragon is only worth 25% speed. But it can be increased above that with items from what I understand.

I think the idea is the normal flow of a season is get to 70, season journey, get farming build online, then 95% of the season blast GRs for paragon, finally push. They're trying to eliminate that middle 95% and have us spend more time crafting gear and pushing (read: fishing). Personally I think this will make the season just way shorter, which is really bad if this season lasts as long as S28, good god. And doing speed GRs is to me the funnest part of the game. But whatev, I'll play for a little while at least
