Diablo 3 - How to access Darkening of Tristram

Quick walkthrough on how to access the Dark Tristram during the Darkening of Tristram event. The 16 level dungeon is inspired by the original Diablo. Its not the Diablo 1 game recreated or remastered inside of Diablo 3 but instead it's a rift reskinned to look like Diablo 1.
Darkening of Tristram is part of the limited Anniversary event every January.
1. Start in Adventure Mode in Act 1 New Tristram
2. Select waypoint The Old Ruins
3. Head south to the fountain and enter portal "Tristram"

Please note: the pre-cursor event (cultists) is from Jan. 1-3, then on Jan. 4th the Darkening of Tristram event begins and portal will be available.

It’s now Jan 2, 2020 and this event seems to be accessible every year. It’s my first time doing this. I have a few questions. Getting the 7 cultist pages doesn’t count towards getting Butcher pet right? I know your character has to be level 1 when you go into the portal to qualify for getting the butcher pet. So after I get the cultist pages for the cosmetic reward (Angelic portrait), I can create a new character (level 1) to enter the portal to Old Tristram to get the Butcher pet right?

Yes. For the Butcher pet you obtain him for clearing Anniversary Dungeon with a new level 1 character.

+Robin Cantor Darkening of Tristram is part of the limited Anniversary event every January for about a month. The original Diablo music and levels are reskinned as well.

Well, its already Jan 1 6:57 (Pm) and I'm 2 hours ahead of PST, it should be there, but there is no portal.
