I never knew augmenting items with high level gems result in higher augments... I didn't even know that I can augment multiple times!!

Are you saying that they add together to get really high? Or that using augment removes the old augment?

Thanks for the tips on this :-) I was able to reforge my shield to get my first useful primal in non-season, plus I managed to clear GR 88 in just over 11 minutes today, using just the one primal and four ancients with the rest being normal gear that rolled high stats. I can't wait to get all primals with the right affixes. :-D

Great tutorial. Paragon is another great way and getting to 800 is important like you said. If one is not pushing they should be doing 4-5 minute GR runs for Paragon and Forgotten Souls. The speed GR's are also where its important not to die past 800-1000+ paragon, as you will be wanting Pools of Reflection. The way I prefer to do it is a quick 4 player bounty and if I don't get any which can happen, I run a rift for a few keys after. Also regarding the Crit Chance/Crit Damage and its 1:10 optimal point you should also factor in any passives or skills that you always and/or usually have up that increases Crit Chance/Damage while aiming for your target ratio. Bounties suck.

I'm on my 2nd playthrough (played the 1st 1 without knowing what everything was), I'd ended the playthrough at lvl 61, so now I'm on again for to get the trophy for lvl 70, at the same time I thought I'd go on KZbin to see some vids of what I actually needed to do or could do to become good at the game, I've watched alot of vids from different KZbinrs & can honestly say, it's like listening to Chinese, I have no clue about anything you've just said. Is there a basic basic basic tutorial out there?

I've reached level 70 now paragon 63, and have basically stopped finding gear that improves anything. Does it just take a lot longer to find good gear after you hit 70?

Rolling out vitality… Truly doesn’t make a whole Lotta sense it would be much more beneficial to possibly re-forge the piece if it is an ancient it might go ancient if it is ancient you might lose ancient if it has a socket you might lose the socket point is it’ll change the stats completely and allow you to roll or some thing besides vitality out because vitality and any build is very important as every point of vitality gives you 100 points of life so therefore if you roll out 650 points of vitality wow that’s 65,000 overall life!!! That’s a lot of life to roll out of your build!!

Good guide but you fail to mention that you need to finish GR70 before even having a chance to get a primal so you would need some pretty good equipment before attempting that. I would also say that rerolling rings for a socket is not better than getting crit chance or crit damage rerolled but you can put legendary gems into those sockets so its a toss up. I would never socket a ring just to put a regular gem in it even if its royal or flawless royal. Is crit damage or crit chance better than a specific legendary gem in a socket? I would be glad if someone could clarify this because i'm thinking about just going with crit on my non-socketed ancient compass rose. It surprised me that it was ancient but no socket so i still kind of got screwed. XD

Take any extra piece of the waste set you have and convert it in the cube until it’s the helm using the “convert set item” recipe.

Good luck then.I as a wizard im trying like forever to get full firebird primals.I HAVE NOT EVEN ONE and i lost all my materials for that.(forgoten souls and death breath) Every primal i get is 90% for other classes and the rest of 10% are wizard gear with other classes statistics like dex or str.Primal gear for wizard with int are parts that none uses.That was the 'smart loot' system of Blizztards.

Everything from season characters.... even challenges/transmog unlocked/cosmetics/paragon... literally everything gets moved to your non seasonal characters.

As far as GRs push as high as you can first til you find one that whoops you. Then hit nephalem rifts and Speed run lower GRs til you get better gear and push higher

great video! I would like to say the only thing I wouldn't do is NOT augment at base level! I can clear a 95 with the same impale build season 17 with no augments. this vids a bit old but I would say only augment once you've plateaued. 3 flawless royales is a grind compared to leveling a gem 10-20 more levels. and if your going to wait for well rolled ancients than you can probably clear a 70+ gr already. why augment a level 30 gem when you can augment an 70 gem in a half hour time?

noob question here, saw on your other video about crafting born set and leoric's crown early on for the xp buff. whats the point of doing this when it is out leveled 5 levels later on with better gear?

Because you want to level up as fast as possible, so keeping the xp farming gear on will make it all happen a lot quicker. It is probably worth more to stay on manageable difficulties with all the xp gear than to try and gear up for higher difficulties. Plus if you ask someone for a boost, it is polite to have all the xp gear on to make it quicker for them :)

The challenge rifts are weird, i have the same playstyle for Barbarian on the current challenge but i have much better gear, damage, toughness, ect than this person and i run out of Fury really quick on their build so instead of spamming Hammer of the Ancients like i do on my build, i have some downtime on this person's build and he only has 10 million toughness. I dont know how he/she finished it in 6 minutes, it takes me about 8. Sucks because i dont feel like doing bounties right now but i need the materials to augment my stuff and reforge.

Not sure if you ever got an answer for this, but additive means something you already have and you're adding more. The best example is main stat. If you already have 17k Dexterity, 500 more isn't going to add much. (ex: 2 mil x 17kvs. 2 mil x 17.5k, while it is more (by 1 billion) it's not 'much' more, compared to a lower number due to diminishing returns). Multiplicative is more along the lines of something you don't have much of or don't have at all. In the video you can see he has 0 Bonus Damage to Elites. If he were to get 15% bonus damage to elites from something at the cost of say 500 dex, instead of 2 mil x 17000 (34b), it would become 2 mil x 16500 x 1.15 (37.95b). Multiplication > Addition for maximizing damage potential. Hope that helped.

getting a new multiplier is better then adding to an existing one, since the game calculates it that way. Base dmg x mainstat x flat dmg increase x other bonus, then it goes to the skill which uses a certain % of that, this gets x skill dmg bonus(affix rolls) x skill dmg bonus(from set/unique bonus) x elemental dmg. last it checks if it is a crit and how much the crit dmg multiplies it. So if you have lets say +15% dmg on impale and have to choose between another 15% impale or 15% dmg to elites it would either be 15+15 = 30% so dmg x 1,3 or 15% x 15% = 1,15 x 1,15 = dmg x 1,3225 also to not the 15% impale dmg is not added to the 40000% from the set bonus it is multiplied on top of it so when someone in your group uses strongarms in cube your numbers increase flat by 30% since it is another multiplier on top of the ones you have or the poison gems adds 10% on top resulting in your dmg x1,3 x 1,1 = 1,43... D3planner has a nice way of displaying the multiplyers in the skills section and effective dmg of one skill to goof around

Augmenting at 50-60 is about 2hours of time spent per slot... not sure i would do that either, add another maybe hour and get that to 80 or so and be done with it. unless you have upped all gems to that point and do not get a good rolled slot to augment

Seriously, you don;t need to augment anything under level 80 to DO great rift 80 rifts so its a waste of time.
