ok i can and have run a GR 70 but its difficult and have recieved no primals yet but where would you start using the gems youve leveled would you use the lvl 50 gems an start a new set to get to like lvl 70 or so or would you keep leveling them somehow? i guess trying to find people to group with for higher lvl rifts

You probably don't need an answer any more, but I like to level my gems to 90 (at least 80+) before using them for augmenting. I think it's a waste of time and gold and exp to use a gem at like lvl 50 or 60. Hope this answers your question.

I would run Ferrets for your pet and also run avarice band in the cube. You shouldn't have any gold issues then. I have been running 75-80 leveling gems cause its almost as fast as a 59 and just just get more XP so why not if gold isn't an issue. Change up those two things and your should see your gold jump even higher.

I have the same approach. I find which GR level I can run in 3-5 minutes and just empower them until I run out of 100% chance to level the gem and then just go up in GR levels to ensure that I keep 100% until I get to a GR where I can run in less than 10 minutes and stay at that level until my gems are at 30% and move up to continue to have a 60% chance. Then I find the GR level that I can run in 14 minutes and try my luck at 30% then stop. That way I stay quick running the GR and get some exp for paragon leveling.

I know the minimum gem lvl for augment is 50, but does a higher level gem actually increase the power of the augment or something?

You get 5 main stat per gem lv

THIS... video does nothing to explain how to *level* a gem. I know I am a novice, but it is a video ASSUMING a helluva lot. I have a L0 Boon of the hoarder. I want to know WHAT I need to do to start leveling it. Nothing explains: "Do X..." or *where* to do it-unless I just go to the Nephalim rift to do it?

If your still at a loss you need to level it by beating a (greater rift) the purple portal device beside oreak or whatever the floating blue dude name is, and then choose the greater rift if you have keys which is from the yellow normal nephalem rift which is from the same portal thing

I feel that by now they should implement a new system for lvling up legendary gems. This 3-5 points every rift is out of date, people are in the 120+ region now. Thinking about a gambling concept, just like everything else in this game. A Greater Rift, that you have to complete in a "Specific-but-doable" time, and at any difficulty. Now lets say GR 50, everything about the rift is just another GR only you have 3 minutes to kill the rift guardian, and it'll cost you 500 milion golds. If you do manage to complete the rift in time, any legendary gems of your choice will be upgraded to rank 50. Same applies to every other GR rank. Now people wont be doing GR 120 in 3 minutes, so nothing to worry about there. And it can only be completed solo.

So how would you upgrade a gem to 120? How would you upgrade to above something you can solo? For example I play my necro solo, I can do up to about gr70 in 3 minutes, 80+ I struggle surviving but in a group we can easily do a 95 in 3 mins. Then I'm forced to not get my gems higher than 70? Also, I think it's nice that their is a small gem-upgrading reward every time you do a gr. Say we used this system of yours, while it would make us able to level a gem to a specific level a lot faster, it would take away that reward everytime we are not purposely levelling a gem.

@@TheMiig1513 you are misunderstanding. i was thinking about replaceing the current empowered rift concept with my idea. Or perhaps an entierly new GR-mode just specifically to upgrade gems, to a certain point depending on your personal GR best. Doing a regular GR will still yield the same 3 gem upgrades (4 if you dont die)

Level gem 1-25 doing GR35s, cheap as fuck, then do GR50s to get them to 40 and so on. Waste of money running GR59s to take a gem from level 1 to 50

Just an opinion: Don't waste your time on augments for UE build. Farm for Shadow gear instead unless you really don't care about how high you can go in GR's. The UE build is not great in higher GR's... the build is a pure glass cannon. One shot and your done. It's really fun to play and great for speed farming regarding GR keys, gold, etc., but unless your paragon points are in the 2K+ to 3K or better, you're not going to be able to last in high GR's. The DH Shadow Impale is still the overall best build for high GR's. It's a much tougher build. I have both builds and both have 100 augments on each piece of gear and the Shadow build does so much better than the UE build regarding high GR's. I've done 102-104 GR's with my Shadow, but can't get past about mid 90's with UE. Just sharing my thoughts. Good luck.

If you play hardcore i agree completely shadow is best for survival and control, but in normal the highest ranked in this season is running UE. Maybe your gear atm have benefited shadow and that is why you get better resultats with that, but UE is on par if not better.

Gotcha. However, I don't play seasons, just solo and pubs. Personally, I can do better regarding GR's with my Shadow build over my UE. My UE's damage is higher than my Shadow, but the UE can't hang in GR's higher than roughly 96-97. One shot and UE is done where I can hang with Shadow all day long in higher GR's, roughly 102's to 104's solo, and 108's to 110 + in pubs. I do like the UE play style better, just wish it could hang better in higher GR's.

Only do this if you are jobless and have all the time in the world to play. I play max G rifts and augment to 91 first, while getting max XP....it doesnt waste any time.... Best advice that i have to other players, get some friends....group with them and you will do rifts 10-20 times higher and boost each other.
