I know this is a couple of years old but still very well done! I played Diablo 3 when it first came out for the 360 and just now got it for the Xbox one. I was completely lost on how to extract legendary powers into the cube until I watched this. Thank you sir!

All it does is allows you to add a stat (usually you want your primary stat) to a piece of gear to boost your overall stats. It's very useful :)

im pretty new to the cube, this was very helpful, what i need is a tutorial on how to add legendary power to an item. can i add to a set item? ive watched other videos but it never works for me. one video showed him moving crafting materials from the inventory box to the cube rather than clicking the fill button. i could not move the items.. ugh i moved items become indestructible to the cube and want to move it to my Tra'guls shoulders. thank you in advance

Unfortunately you can't add legendary powers to items other than what's already on the item. You can Augment them to add more stats 10:56. The only other way to have more powers active are in the cube. It would be a little too op to be able to add them to items as well. I'm not sure why you couldn't move materials over, seems like maybe a glitch? Normally hitting fill is the faster way.

Really useful for upgrading rare follower relics into legendary in an attempt to land an immunity to death item like the "Enchanting Favor". With it's low drop rate you may never find one yourself.

It will replace the augment. You can only have one at a time on each item.

Great video man. Super informative and helpful. quick question, how does a primal ancient ring like that CoE you have differ from a normal CoE? Couldn’t a normal one roll the same stats as a primal? (Super nice ring btw)

Primal ancients always roll the highest stats possible even when rerolling stats. I don't know if a regular ancient can roll all perfect stats, I've never seen it but if so it'd be unbelievably rare. Stat wise it goes legendary < ancient < primal. Each one being more rare of course.

Fantastic and helpful video! I'm VERY confused about something though. Just one thing; What's the point of extracting legendary power if you can't put that extracted power onto another legendary? I assumed that's how it works. And I mean, why wouldn't I? You're extracting the legendary power and containing it, so simple logic would point to taking that contained power, with the addition of whatever mats, and putting it on another item. To put it simply, I'm very confused about how the extracted legendary powers are utilized. I'm about to rewatch it to see if I somehow missed something though. EDIT: After rewatching, I'm still confused. Reforge doesn't change the legendary item, just it's stats and gives it a chance to upgrade to primal or what not. Convert Set item only changes set items to different pieces of the same set, and Augment adds an additional stat to gear. The only thing I can think, is that the Upgrade Rare Item can only make legendaries with the legendary power that has been extracted...but then you would have mentioned that. I'm so confused :|

Extracting the power makes it usable/equip-able in the cube. You can have three different extra powers at once, wep, armor, and jewelry. You can't reapply them to another item but select from any you've extracted to have active at a time. It drops from greater rifts. It's a legendary gem so. Each time you complete a GR a legendary gem you don't already have will drop so it may take a few runs before you get one.

Hi mega good video and yes, the convert set item feature converts a set item to another of the same set. Also just a thought but perhaps while u are thinking about tutorials, perhaps some of elites and their afixes and how to handle them and the same for RGs?

Don’t understand why you had items in the cube already - like you skipped a step. Also I have legendary items and they won’t go into cube - why? Do they have to be on the list that shows up? Not a very beginner friendly tutorial.

Activating the items was still explained so I don't really see an issue with having items already there. If I made the video again maybe I'd change it but I thought it was still explained pretty well ^_^ To your second question, yes some items cannot be extracted but the majority can. If they aren't in the list they can't be extracted.

Maybe it’s because I watched this on a phone and screen is small (plus you moved cursor really fast), or saw legendary items in the boxes in the bottom slots. But because I saw legendary items in the bottom slots and recipe parts in the middle box, I kept trying to drop my legendary into the bottom slot, which it wasn’t until I watched another vid (by Leviathan D3) that I saw what was really being done (put legendary in same box as recipe items). I looked up vids on Kenais because last time I played D3 it literally wasn’t even in the game yet. So a slower explanation starting from scratch was what I needed.

2:40 Once I extract the power, string of ears becomes available. I can have it active as the "armor" piece giving me its bonus without wearing it. You can only have one wep, armor, and jewel buff active in the cube at one time. If they're in those active spots in the cube, they are active on your person. You can see them in you character details window down at the bottom of your stats letting you know they're active. I don't mention it in the video but 13:34 I scroll down and you can briefly see what I have active in the cube, lines up with the cube window.

I thought at first when you said 'available' that it was referring to available for forging so it seemed like I had to reforge with it selected haha so I did that doh! I got some kinda set gear out of it though.. anyway general chat let me know it was a passive ability thereafter. Really cool Kanai cube is such a game changer!

The ones at 2:13 come from different Horadric Caches from Act's 1-5. Caldeum nightshade for example comes from act 2 Horadric Caches. Others are either drops or you get them from breaking down items.

They're just items I've farmed from random rifts and what not. Most of them are drops.

Yeah. If you dont know what these items are, you don't play diablo enough. These are standard materials you get by playing the game. The only one I could see is the cube specific mats from bounties. But, like i said you get those from doing bounties in adventure mode.

Soooooo... in other words, this thing is junk. You have a chance to "roll" a new item.. only now it doesn't just cost gold.. it cost inventory items. 😣... The only cool thing is the level removal to use an item early. Why doesn't Blizzard just make the game where you continue to gain new, better items naturally as you go; the game is so much fun till you hit level 70. Think about it. Then you have to jump through hoops of fire to upgrade your character. Blizzard and Sony are in bed on this one... the only way to level your character up quickly is to play online... and the only way to play online is to pay Sony 😣... what a jip. It's just a gimmick to make you think you got more than you actually did.

It's all based on chance, just like the drops. Augmenting is really nice though and converting gems can come in handy.

@@megagig5501 How long does it take to get those top level gems??? Only top players are gonna have the abilities or the gold to get them... it leaves the newbie or "casual" player left out man. Not everyone likes to play online (believe it or not) and not everyone wants to pay corrupt Sony our hard earned cash to do so. I love the game... but we ARE getting ripped off. For a $60 game, $200-$400 PS4, and $10 a month sub fee (in addition to the internet we already pay for) they are really only repackaging the original game. I mean, there aren't that many new areas to explore, not that many new items to get (that power your character up), not really many new transmogs, no new bosses to fight, nothing added to the story. Think about it: WE'RE ALL REALLY JUST PLAYING THE GAME TO POWER OUR CHARACTER UP TO INFINITE AND NOT DO ANYTHING NEW WITH THE STORY OR CHARACTERS. Diablo players have become like crackheads just looking for the next fix. And quite frankly, it's way to complicated and confusing to keep upgrading my character after a certain level. The Paragon points ( I just hit 950 doing greater rifts last night), are kind of a joke. I thought they'd make my character Superman...nope. Just a wee bit better than before. It's like... all that hype.. all that time spent... for what? I appreciate your enthusiasm... but ... C'mon Blizzard.. you KNOW you can do better.

I never really disagreed lol. This game is a slow burn and the end game is pretty much about GR leader boards. Some people just enjoy the farming and watching all the numbers. If you're not into farming/grinding games then the late game will disappoint.
