Bolas (explosive) Is the same or Better. Btw i think you missed some important parts: 1) how much hp would be Ideal even for the highest rifts? 2) how much AS Is needed to get what breakpoint? 3) ricochet and overpenetration are best for keeping up hatred and spreading area damage, but for low rifts you can get any rune you get element buff on quiver/bracers/amulet

I find using Vengeance rune that gives hatred Regen give enough resource for speed runs. Maybe use bat pet in the mix too.

@@AnoobisITA 1) It's hard to put a number on it, but I've felt comfortable with anywhere from 600k to 1m. It depends on your paragon. 2) There is no absolute AS breakpoint because your AS is fluctuating all the time from using Pain Enhancer. If there is one AS breakpoint that matters more than others it's versus a solo target with only 1 stack of PE, and you can check your breakpoints in d3planner. 3) Ricochet lightning bounces give enemies the "impaled" status effect, and daggers that pass through enemies with Overpen don't. You can tell which enemies have the impaled status because they will be covered in daggers sticking out of them. As a result, Ricochet is the only rune that helps with keeping up hatred. Overpen is the rune of choice for top GR clears because it offers the most potential DPS in dense packs, especially when stacking area damage as Raxx suggests. However, the DPS difference is within 1 GR tier so you'll usually stick with whichever element your gear supports.

I know this is supreme Deja Vu, but regarding the speed build, you can't use Evasive Fire because it requires a bow. Bolas - Thunder Ball/Freezing Strike, or Grenade - Tinkerer/Stun Grenade/Cold Grenade are very good options. Great vids as always!

I've been using the DH multishot and have been amazed at the power of it and have been growing nicely with it but was absolutely blown away when I started using this ( with basically rank 0 legendary gems, weak rolls, no enchants and barely any ancient and no primals). I know I'm late to the party, just want to say, i found this video today looking for an impale build since I just started the season. Almost immediately after setting up the baseline of the build I found a bandit shrine :) with the impale build I manage to kill all the goblins. And they opened a portal to the "not a cow level" :)

Something that you didn't touch on was the value of LPK secondary. Secondaries usually aren't that important, but with Shadow Power your LPK is converted to LPH which is strong for Solo. You can usually pick it up easily on pants and belt, and if you're lucky you'll get it on your Karlei's. It's still not as important as primaries but it can be the deciding factor when choosing between two pieces of gear. Related to the LPK discussion is the legendary potion choice which wasn't mentioned. I haven't played in a couple seasons so I'm not sure if it's been fixed, but if not, then the LPK potion is much more powerful than potions normally are. If you press Shadow Power while the potion is active, it will snapshot your LPK and continue to grant increased LPH after the potion effect is over. If you want to keep your buffed LPH, you have to do this every time you die or zone, and you can't use Shadow Power without the potion effect active.

Hey, Raxx. For moving around you just cast 1 Impale and 3-4 free Vaults after that. For speed farming you can take Bane of the Powerful, because you kill elites every 30 seconds or less and the damage bonus is massive. And for T16/Bounties it's better to have Reaper's Wraps for resource regeneration.

Damn this is the set I used to get to my highest GR(105) and that's when the set bonus was only %50,000. Plus now the quiver buff and I didnt use the second set along side it. sorry for so many replies Raxx - commenting as I progress through the video (bad memory, so if I don't do it when something strikes me, I forget lol!) and attention span issues, so it takes me a few days to get through a lengthy video bit by bit - rapid fire will still be ahead of impale s6 - it was around 6-7 GRs ahead of impale, so with this 4-5 GR buff, we'll be close on their heels, but still slightly behind imho. UE MS was prolly 1-2 GRs ahead of impale s6 with CCR and impale will be now ahead of it. GOD will be ahead by 3-4 GRs imho.

the best way to farm rings is to blast GRs quickly and gamble for them. you can also use recipe 3 in the cube to upgrade yellow rings to legendary

This is an insane build. I'm level 430 and pulling off 1596B Damage on a high crit...which is often. On average 200B-500B crit damage. This is while running Torment X Greater Rift Difficulty 50.

Hey Thorian, you can upgrade a few daggers once you get some mats at 70 before the GR70 solo to try to get a good ancient. Doesn't have to be primal, just anything decent will do the trick :). It's a 1 in 2 chance which is godmode

If you see this, I’ve run a T 16 version of impale for many seasons it works very good. still slightly slower than multi shot, but if you would like to see it I could try to get it to you. Regarding the GR set up for solo... You can snap shot the mutilation potion for 50,000 extra life per kill. It is a must, to do the highest levels. I was able to get 133 hc clear on ptr. Thanks again for being so articulate when describing things in all your videos. Very few people are able to do that...

Thank you Raxx for another great video! Is this build exclusive to season 21? Because I tried it several times on "normal" and honestly, it just does not work for me. Can't even do GR115: that's with decent gear, allmost 3k para, and quite a few augments. Went back to my "old" solo impale build (cold) on normal and I had no problem doing GR117 and GR118 with several minutes to spare. Maybe i did something wrong? Or maybe you should limit your paragons to a more "reasonable" amount like 1 or 2k and see if it still works for the average "joe" like me? Your builds lately may be great for people with 6k para, but most of us "mortals" don't have 6k para ;-) :-) Note: I've been playing D3 for about 10h every week since day 1, yet i'm "only" at 3k para. I guess Blizz does not like people who play their games mostly solo :-( (Not to mention RNG being a bitch and stash-space just awfull when you try to take into account the constant changing of the rules by Blizz ... but that's a whole other story!) Thank you for the kind words alfa. I wasn't using all 7k paragon in this video, just FYI. There are other people who use a different rune and say they like it better. You should always feel free to make a few adjustments that work for your playstyle. I think what I've shown here is one of the more damage-dealing set ups, but it may be a bit squishier. So if you can't survive take elusive ring stead of COE and that should help. But if cold works better for you, definitely go with that :)

Hi Raxx, why do you choose all resist instead of Vit for many armor pieces (bracers, chest, shoulders) in your builds? I know sheet toughness isn't the greatest indicator but it's a bit higher with Vit so I was curious how much difference it makes?

good question. we can always add vit via paragon. however all resistance we can only get on gear and a bit from paragon. I'd rather have the stat I can't get more of on gear than vit

I'm playing Impale in Season 22 HC now and i wasnt sure which Gems r the best, i run with Stricken, Bane of Powerful and Zei's Stone of Vengeance, this last is probalby a bad choice, I see that you rather go closer to Elites than stay away from them, so which gem you think is best to use instead of Zei? I'm using Traveler's Pledge so Gogok's cooldown may increase my dmg from Cpt Crimson Set? Idk, i try to hit the leaderboard, currently im on GR108 with almost 1k paragon, rank 1000 starts with GR110 at this moment, but all the ranking is filled with GoD.

why not Captain Crimson's set over Aughild's set? Captain gives you: 20%CDR 20% RCD +x% dmg increase (x = CDR) -x% dmg taken (x = RCD) since you normally aim to get 33% CDR (100% uptime on vengeance) thats already +33% dmg increase. while aughild only gives: - 15% dmg taken + 30% dmg increase - 30% dmg taken vs elites +30% dmg increase vs elites

Thanks for the tips. Why is it that I can't get all resistance when I enchant my torso or legs? Is it because it's not an ancient? I could get + armor but no option for all resistance. Also what's the best way of getting stone guantlets for the cube? I'm been trying to gamble for it.

You can only roll all res on an item that doesn’t have a secondary resist. To get stone gauntlets, roll for them on a barb or crusader, they only drop on strength classes

So running completely Solo, how do people level their Led Gems in a season so well? I can’t seem to get past GR116 most seasons with pretty sweet gear and good roles. Yet I see people clearing GR125+ and have gems and Augments past 140. What’s the gem upgrade breakpoint too in regards to % of upgrade chance to level gems?

they usually don`t lvl their gems in solo.

Everyone with high gems usually levels them in groups b/c its so much easier, that's how they get them that high

Question for you bud. How do you roll these gears without the primary attribute int/dex/str. When I play my wizard I try to get rolls but with int as the primary it literally always takes up a spot and even with hundreds and hundreds of rolls getting three specific rolls when int is always one of them feels impossible

It's just RNG. Trifecta rings or quadfecta gloves are among the rarest and most valuable pieces you can find. Just gotta keep trying until you get desirable stats and then roll off the int for the final desirable stat. Make sure you know what stats are guaranteed to show up so you're not chasing something that doesn't exist, for example Compass Rose always has main stat AND movement speed, so your perfect CR will always have main stat on it and you'll roll off the movement speed.

grievous wounds adds a minimal amount of damage. in reality you can take whatever rune you get all your elemental rolls for

I’ve always liked Calamity and Marked for Death. Would you think someone who is used to cursing frequently with a Necro would be pretty comfortable using Marked for Death as a DH?

hi mr rax, i was gonna point out Evasive fire requires a bow but, i see you took care of that while i was watching, lol. . You are going to have to choose between bolas or grenades. I use bolas bitter pill , it has a chance to generate a little more discipline as well as generate my hatred but, You could use the thunder ball as it also generates 7 hatred instead. grenades suck imo but, tinkerer does also generate 7 hatred. and the cold grenade cant create area of slow but, i have never found grenades useful. other than that i love that your solo build is almost the same as mine this time, as well. i was using the elusive ring and flavor of time instead of endless walk though. im gonna switch and see if the 100 % damage is better than extended pylons. that could be a close decision, honestly. i also happen to use cold as thats what the game has given me better gear of this season, the biggest difference i immediately notice is that the vengeance missiles are now weaker, as they were profiting from the lightning elemental bonus and now dont. lastly, just a tip that when speed running and t16 with the shadow set, you can switch your cheat death passive to ballistics. doubling the missile damage with the shadow boost and the elemental boost will help kill things faster and you dont have to shoot as much, as the damage will actually matter in such a low tier and you dont need to cheat death unless you play really poorly. thanks for the tips and confirmations though. how come sometimes i see people with 500k doing GR of 100+ and i struggle so much with 700k of damage??? By the way, is strafe a nice skill to use as well when ur set for the impale???

You don’t want to strafe with impale. Sheet damage doesn’t factor in things like elemental damage, skill damage, or area damage. For that reason, sheet damage is not a good measurement of powrr

@@Raxxanterax I wasn't sure how you were able to add them to the quick bar. I wasn't aware you could move different skills to different keys. Been playing for years and never tried moving anything just played as the default skills came on the keys. I figured out how to move other abilities down to hotbar. Makes for a heck of allot easier playing and options. Thanks so much for replying. Bought it when it was released playing a little over the years. The auction house feature turned me off along with all the connection problems to serves back then. Just started playing again this year and it's night and day difference. I've been having a blast and love your build info! Love your channel!

Hey, just FYI, you can't use evasive fire with a dagger. Grenade with the Cold Grenade rune is best for speed GRs with Focus and Restraint.

Pesti RGK is alright, but its not great. I wouldn't play it with crusaders still ruling the world of RGK. If they get nerfed in Season 22 then maybe pesti RGK can rise again

Very nice guide, I will be playing DH on s21 for the new set but i have one question; Is there a LoD ranged alternative to do paragons with until I get the new gears of dreadlands full set? I know it sounds silly but playing melee version of DH feels like rogue type and in most games i played i was never a fan of that class aesthetic.

DH doesn't have a great LOD build unfortunately :/. the best bet is to use impale for 1 day to farm the set since its given to you

Raxx - you almost certainly know this, but @ 15:30 or so, you talk about the occy ring - you can proc the occy ring to appear where you want it to (been doing it for several seasons now).

you can pick when you proc it, but the location of it spawning is random unfortunately. sometimes they spawn in a great spot, sometimes they spawn a million miles away

@@Raxxanterax agreed, but experience has taught me that, at least with impale s6, it spawns pretty close to the previous oculus location and it's easily reachable. Granted, DH has far better mobility than most characters in the game.

And i tought i knew everything about demon hunter impale. Im stuck in GR 110 (paragon 1100), with overpenetration and cold dmg. I will try this lightning build and hopefully i can get high rifts. Thx for sharing!

Thx again, great video. What's your take on support DH? I love support roles and so far play zBarb and Zmonk. Also any links or advice to a zmonk build that uses cyclone as my friends and me prefer to have the monk help get mops.

Support DH could be quite good, especially if they keep the 150% odysseys end buff. If they do, I'll make a guide on it. DH will be my start for sure. It'll be fun getting out of my MS comfort zone. Question, for this build you're using all res gems for survivability. I notice with Necro and WD, strength or dex gems are used for armor and survivability. Are the different gems used due to differences in intelligence vs dexterity based classes? Or is there something else?

Its exactly that. dex/str classes get armor from paragon, so we want all res. for int classes they get all res, so we want armor
