Notably, Valla's is going to be less-sginficant of a damage increase, the higher breakpoint you hit. So when you have early unoptimized gear, it's fairly significant, when you can optimize around reaching specific breakpoints, its less important.

Using valla's allows you to drop attack speed, and intentionally not hit a good breakpoint, so you can prioritize getting other stats. This is a big part of why it's so good. Sure, if you had attack speed rolls elsewhere then valla's might not be as helpful, but the whole point of using valla's is that you DON'T roll attack speed, so the effect gets full value.

For t16 I’ve been doing blood vengeance and preparation with punishment rune and I never run out of hatred with basically my GR setup with squirts over flavor and bane of the powerful over stricken. Also nems over calamity bracers.

One thing I've been really wondering is how relevant are Hunter's Wrath secondary Rolls and TNCS? Could you maybe make a video about it? Personal example: I have an Auged Ancient HW with 192%, but I've just found a normal one with 200%. but it's 4% less Sheet DPS (and lower toughness, both have the same primary rolls) what's the damage impact of that 8% difference? You can do the math yourself pretty easily: the 200% gives you 3x multiplies. The 192% gives you 2.92 multiplier. 3/2.92 = ~1.03, so +3%. So the +4% sheet DPS one is better.

@@flipochino2015 ​ @Tatsumi i found the answer in the diablo3 forums on america, i just posted this question and found the anwer: t’s possible for any bow to not always apply the momentum stacks, its normally affected by attack speed, sometimes you just have to fire primary again to get it to tick, its not exclusive to calamity. The bug with calamity itself is the reason not to use it. because the calamity weapon The Mark is applied after the hit., to get some bonus damage, you need to hit the same enemy twice in a row, without hitting any other monster in between. therefore you always never get some bonus damage, The mark jumps from one mob to next mob, the previous mark “fade away” effect makes you think that it is still there. Actually, only the last mob is marked.

I had the odd idea of trying Gogok after a more or less perfect Primal Yangs with 7% AS dropped for me, doing so got me thinking on AS and breakpoints for such which I have heard over the years but never investigated properly. Figuring out whats what on my own just ain't getting me anywhere so here I am asking. With Gogok I am reaching an APS of 2.17 add Enchantress and that makes it 2.2 so past that 2.143#.. I figure this is probably inefficient and I ought to swap out Gogok for one of my damage Gems.. settling for waiting on better gear before going for the 2.143 sbp. It was fun trying that AS though. I just do not know which of these FPA I should choose 7 or 8, there is some mention here of avoiding FPA 8 for Odyssey but I hope that's just Odyssey and not other 2H Bows? Cause as is I'm stuck in the fpa8 category, my primal GOD gloves roll not having been the greatest. Honestly I kinda wish id not started thinking on this subject at all. darn numbers...

So momentum already has lag issues where you press the button for The basic attack you’re using, now add in a bow that adds a debuff and it adds an animation with that debuff so it causes more lag so you can press your basic attack button 5 times in a row and never get the momentum stacks from it

Not Wudi, but: 1) To my understanding, no need for AS (or + dmg%) if dual-wielding because the values are tied to the individual weapon - better to roll aoe, cooldown, etc. Maybe wrong, hopefully someone can confirm or correct. 2) This is correct. AS breakpoint improves odds of 4-piece proc; this is what Vallas does as well. A caveat: to get most effect out of Vallas, you need to group enemies. Since each piercing strafe projectile might land on the perfect frame to trigger 4-piece, the more enemies it pierces, the more likely it is to be on the right frame.

So I have an ancient Vallas that currently has ias 7% putting me at 2.23 attacks per second, and it is paired with a primal 9th cirri satchel I just got today. Not perfect rolls (has dex vit and socket after enchanting chakram damage to crit...). Should I roll Vallas IAS off for 10% damage? It already has AD on it. Aughilds will reduce damage against trash by ~20% (30% flat for Aughilds vs 50% [+200% for 4 of 16 seconds] for CoE). Depending on how the math works, it'll increase or decrease overall damage slightly on elites. Doesn't sound worth it to me, especially since the Aughild wrists will replace nem bracers which will likely slow your clears down. This is just my opinion as a soloer, so take it with a grain of salt.

No. You can tell because if you have 2 similar 1 handed weapons and one had 10% damage and you are dual wielding, the tooltip will state a 5% dps increase, meaning it is essentially dividing that damage between the two weapons. This means a 10% damage roll on the other weapon would give you an additional 5%. So yeah, damage% on both weapons counts but like he said, area damage is the better stat in that scenario. Hope this helped!

It's true only for a few skills, for DH being RoV, FoK and Sentry iirc. Rest of them (Strafe and Strafe fired primaries included) are alternating between weapons for damage calculation.

Is because wudijo opinion is not a must opinion I did a test too with dual primals vs 1h + primal quiver nice rolls and i found better damage from dual (+archery pasive and single out for boss) in 145+ (ns 6.5k paragon). Valla fix the need of use a quiver, make the build easy and if you can dps better in hard pulls you will do more damage. Same issue with oddy bow.

You only run fortress ballista to protect the Squirt's effect. Use those two as a pair. Otherwise I'd just go with valla's or buriza instead of ballista, and flavor of time to go with one of those.

@@user-vq1op2zg6w Squirt's isn't hard to keep up if you're running fortress ballista, since that gives you an absorb. Personally, I run ballista and squirts for speed GRs, since you don't really get the benefit from valla's when things die instantly, and you can keep 100% uptime on 10 stacks of Squirt's. Also, ballista gives you more survivability with the absorb, so it keeps you from getting one shot, which means you can drop awareness quite safely in speeds (assuming softcore).

Where does the information that the internal cooldown of the 4 peace set bonus is 9 frames originally come from? As far as i know that is not mentioned in the game itself. I don't really understand why the frequency in which the procs come is higher if you use a weapon with a pierce effect. I looked at the equip of the top ranked players and nobody of them has any attack speed rolls. Why?

Game in general doesn't mention internal cooldowns, it came out as a result of testing in community. It's because in Strafe tickrate different than 9 FPA, it desyncs with iCD, which makes you kinda losing frames. Let's take 8 FPA Strafe breakpoint for example. First Strafe projectile hits and procs primary, iCD of 9 frames start counting down. Next Strafe projectile comes 8 frames later, but it does not proc primary, because there's 1 frame of iCD left. That means that next primary can be proced 7 frames after iCD went down completely, so we "lost" 7 frames that way. What pierce effect changes there is that by flying further after piercing it can hit something during that 7 frames period between iCD going down and firing next Strafe projectile, procing primary in effect. In summary: its sometimes enabling you to proc primary faster after iCD went down despite of Strafe tickrate limitations.

To go from 7 to 6 frames with one Ias roll is only possible if you are using a quiver. Dualwilding gives you 15 Ias but a quiver can give you up to 20 Ias. With two crossbows you will always need two Ias rolls to go from 7 to 6 frames.

Don't compare the "Damage Per Second", that doesn't matter for strafe. Only the per-shot damage matters.

You're looking at DPS, which takes into calculation APS of weapon, and since this is much higher for 1h xbows than for 2h ones, it makes this number higher for Dawn. Point it, DPS doesn't matter here because of how this build interacts with attack speed. In fact, you benefit more from having low APS weapon, because it makes you be able to reach the best 9 FPA breakpoint, which makes Strafe tickrate sync with iCD of GoD 4pc pretty much perfectly. What matter is base damage, and this is much higher for Buriza.

It's a bad thing. 9 FPA is the best breakpoint you can achieve on this build, while 8 FPA is the worst.

Does that mean that 9 and 6 are good, but 7 and 8 are bad, and that only 9 and 6 are good. Just curious if it is a DPS loss to go only from 9 to 8 (or even 7), and only beneficial if you can actually get all the way to 6. Or, if there is benefit in every breakpoint jump.

​@@RhandomNewb Below 9 FPA, every next breakpoint is better than previous one, but all of them are still worse than 9 FPA. In general, if you're in 9 FPA range, you don't care about further breakpoints, because... well, there's no reason, you're already at best one, and you achieve them naturally with bows or with one AS roll with 2h xbows. Only thing you care about is not getting that 1% AS too much for bow setup to not fall into 8 FPA. In case of 1h xbows, you can't get 9 FPA breakpoint in any way other than wearing shield in offhand (which is no viable), 8 FPA is bare minimum, so there gaining further breakpoints gains importance.

Tenclip is missing from this which grants the Drifting Shadow rune. This way you can use Rocket Storm as your main and get both. Buriza and Valla's is only good because both are causing the strafe to pierce twice which causes double procing. They'll likely fix that bug. So the real choice is Fortress Ballista+Dawn with Ninth Satchel in cube.

It's slightly more (14k vs 10k) but you also have to give up some other items that more than make up for it (and a wasted skill slot). So in general it's not better but you can do it if you like, it's not going to be terrible.

Because if you're playing without Goldwrap you are very squishy, which may result in random deaths, which hinders clearing times. WIth Goldwrap Seethe is a good option, yes, but in general, you shouldn't need that to stay up with Hatred. RCR from Yang's is mostly for discipline anyway.

No... having ias in one weapon will only change its Att per second on its hand. You need IAS in a equip that will increase Att per sec on overal (gloves, rings)...

There is one bow that I think should be in the mix. Etrayu, comes with Cold dmg. I got a Primal that works pretty good. Gives about 15% dmg depending on other gear/rolls.

Crossbows do more damage than Bows, so it's not 20% more damage, the 20% cold damage prob puts it on par with Crossbows damage wise.

I don't get it... Why use vallas at all...? It's affix explicitly says "strafe projectiles"... We do damage with our primary skill, right...? Do our primary skill projectiles do count as strafe projectiles when fired by the GoD-Bonus...? If not we wouldn't benefit at all...

strafe projectiles can proc 4pc multiple times when the internal cooldown (9 frames) is up because of the pierce, you get 0-30% more generators this way

Hello Wudi, amazing video as always ;) I have to ask you something maybe stupid but I want to be sure for 100%. If I use dual crossbow and have 1,88 APS will I do any better DMG with 2,00 APS ? I added 2,20% atk speed on my paragons to just get above 1,875 APS and I want to be sure this is enought or should I go for 2,00 APS with full paragons added? Thank you so much :)

the breakpoint that you'd have to reach to see a damage increase is 2.143. Going from 1.88 to 2.00 wouldn't give you an increase at all. All player abilities have a set number of frames during which they cast, so you can't have an ability cast every 4.5 frames for example. This means that you gain zero (yes, actually zero) dps if you aren't hitting a new breakpoint where the ability takes less frames to cast. If you're deciding whether to put paragons into attack speed, the only case where you shouldn't do so is if that would cause you to go over the 1.5 breakpoint (using a 2h weapon). Otherwise, put enough in to get you over a breakpoint if that is possible, otherwise prioritize other stats. Once you are at 800 paragon, just put all the points in (unless it would force you over the 1.5 breakpoint). As far as gear rolls go, again don't bother with attack speed, unless rolling it on one piece would put you over one of the "higher" breakpoints. For example, I'm running an ancient ballista and normal quiver at the moment, and both had an attack speed roll on them, but also had a completely useless affix (like hatred regen or rain of vengeance damage or something). Since I rolled off the useless affix on each, that meant I had enough attack speed to hit the 2.143 breakpoint naturally with paragon points put in. There would be no point in rolling additional IAS, since it wouldn't give me any additional dps. If you're running Valla's, the answer will always be no. Don't roll any extra attack speed, since Valla's fixes the breakpoint issue for you all on its own. That being said, you can feel free to put paragon into IAS as long as it is the last stat you're filling in.

if you are running solo xp farm, trap + thrill the hunt + cull the weak is the perfect combo. Strafe + vallas/buriza will proc thrill the hunt and cull the weak + Bane of the trap will give you extra damage. This only work on solo xp farm, not for GR push.
