Loving the series, been keeping up for weeks. The only thing I will mention, is that you are massively lacking damage, and it falls down to how you are linking your main attack skill (scourge arrow). To sumarize it, you want to have your main attack skill linked with the most ammount of support gems possible to boost it's damage. In your case, scourge arrow + unbound ailments + void manipulation + deadly ailments + maybe returning projectiles or something else. All of these increase the damage multiplicative and can boost your damage by a LOT. Also since source arrow converts physical do chaos, you should look for bows with high physical damage and chaos damage affixes. It can be a litle hard to get there, but good luck with it.

@@NyxVellum something not mentioned in this comment is that scourge arrow has multiple stages of channeling which increase the damage % wise with BOTH hits and ailments, since you dont have any mana you simply fire it at the fist stage, which is why another reason the damage is so low. I also assume you dont have 100% chance to poison so that might be why some hits do more than others. You could probably drop clarity or reduce its level and/or use a mana pot instead of your unique flask, since that one wont do much for your build. just noticed you had herald of agony linked to other stuff, that increases its mana reservation. so unless you plan to have that as a major part of your damage, you might not want to do that.

Love that you are exploring this game! A few things: 1) The Labyrinth has multiple difficulties, unlocked as you find the side areas through the acts. When you enter the lab entry zone and click on the altar, you can choose the higher difficulties. Each difficulty gives you 2 ascendancy points to spend upon completion (only from the first completion of each diff). 2) A lot of the mini content things you've found, like the green abyss chasm that moves or the fortress with the dudes defending it, are previous league flagship mechanics that have "gone core". They appears less frequently than the current league mechanic, but can be focused on to appear more often in the end game. 3) Right click your skills (dash for example), there is a small icon that you can click that sets the skill to always cast from your current position instead of attempting to move in range before casting. Its very useful for dash, as if you try to cast it to somewhere outside your dash range it will often make you walk closer first.
@KohallesLeks Жыл бұрын
in the case for dash it actullay makes u dash backwards (lol never used it myself like) if you set it to cast without a target (this doesnt happen with the other movement abilities), but for most of the skill its usually smoother because it doesnt force your character to walk in skill range of an enemy, making u move when u might not want to move
@espysyn Жыл бұрын
Ok, so first is some non-spoiler tips for PoE. 1) PoE hates glass cannons. If an enemy gets within half a screen of you, unless you have proper defenses, it will kill you. Glass Cannon builds in this game are the ones who kill enemies on the next screen over, not the screen you're currently on. Armor lowers the physical damage dealt to you Evasion gives you a chance to not take the damage (calculated in a way where it is worse the more times you are swung at) Elemental Resistances lower the elemental damage you take (they cap at 75% and should always be capped. The game is literally programmed with you having them capped in mind.) 2) I see a lot of comments stating "if you see better items, feel free to pick them up" but no one telling you what a better item is. Each kind of build looks for different stats, and it takes some time to learn the ones you want. I'll go over what your current build is needing later in the 'targeted tips' below. 3) The loot filter is your friend, but it is not gospel. Many filters are programmed to give you general items as well as specific. Most times they are programmed to point out 4-link, 5-link, and 6 socket or link gear. Some of that you might need, some you might not. The last tip about learning as you go applies here too. 4) Links are more important than stats, with the exception of Life and Resists. A 'crappy' 4-link pair of Magic gloves that has some life and resists is better than a Unique 2 socket. You gain most of your DPS through your gems and the supports they have (with attack based builds also needing to stay up to date with weapon damage as well) 4.5) The gear you get from quests (mainly the stuff from Act 5+) is decent 'leveling gear'. You'll get boots, gloves, a helm, etc that are 4 linked, you just need to pick the correct one for the colors you need. So, some more focused and targeted advice. Still non-spoilers for now. The build you are currently doing, Scourge Arrow Ranger; you do NOT need Chaos Damage Over Time. You need Physical Damage and Chaos Damage. Scourge Arrow doesn't deal damage over time, it deals huge chunks of Phys and Chaos Damage (and then smaller ones when the thorns shoot out from the pods) So the stats you should be looking for are: Resists (get that Lightning Res to 75% hun, it is why a Lightning monster melts you just by looking at you), Life (you should have roughly 300 life per act, so given you are getting into Act 10, you should have 3000+ life.), Physical Damage, Chaos Damage, Projectile Damage. If you wanted to swap to being a Damage over Time build, switch from Scourge Arrow to Toxic Rain, then you could swap 'Physical Damage' in the above list with 'Damage over Time and/or Chaos Damage over Time' Now for the ever so slight spoiler warning. This only is stating a game mode that happens later, the "end game" . . . . . warning given. After Act 10 you get into the end game, Maps (you've already picked up a couple). It changes how you play. Each Map only has 6 portals, so 6 deaths before that Map is gone and you just have to move on to the next one. This is why folks say you need better survivability and damage, because if you are currently like you are now and hit Maps, you'll quickly stop having fun. Look forward to the next video

I like respec orbs. It gives a meaingful sense of character progression and permanence without putting an excessive barrier to adjusting a build. It rewards players who put in the time to understand and plan out a build, which is a reason for new-players to understand their choices. We're stuck with the choices we make, so it lightly forces them to consider their choices and 'living with them'. PoE establishes a well thought-out respec-mechanic balance between D2's "your character is what you made" and D3's "you can adjust freely" and D4's "the cost is negligible until later, when the cost becomes prohibitive".

Hey Nyx, another great video, thanks for sharing. I love seeing your thought process as you try to figure out how to socket all the skills you want while managing your stats. This is a huge part of the POE endgame min/maxing as it can sometimes be tricky to get the socket colors you want while fitting in all the skills and then getting enough stats to get the gem levels maxed out. Even following a build guide this is still the main struggle as you will never get the exact same rare items as the guide has. You asked if we do all the league contents... the answer is a big no. Most people will do either the profitable ones or just the ones they enjoy. Once you hit endgame maps you can actually modify them to have the content you want on the maps and not the content you do not want which makes the endgame grind super enjoyable. Others have already mentioned making sure your main offensive skill gets as many support gets as possible - this is huge for your damage. I suggest dedicating the links of either your weapon or your armor to your main skill only plus support gems. I know you are completely solo self found at the moment but if you wanted to get your first trade experience you could buy yourself a tabula rasa for a chaos orb or two. This is a chest piece with no stats at all but gives you 6 linked white (white sockets allow you to socket any gem color into them) sockets. Most POE players will try to use this when leveling up characters as it gives you so much flexibility with your sockets. Also getting into slightly more complicated stuff with crafting - Blue items can only have 2 modifiers on the item, yellow items can have up to 6 modifiers. The bow you tried to craft was blue and had 2 modifiers already which is why you were unable to add anything else on with the crafting bench. There are many ways around this but it might be confusing.. But I will say take a look at your essences the next time you are trying to modify an item. Hope you enjoy the end of the campaign and good luck!

It isn't worth throwing atlas points away just to remove a league content from the map, just ignore the removes and focus on spending points in the leagues that you like the most, that way you'll have more rewards from the content which is always better, you can force some leagues to appear with missions/scarabs. Also, on the crafting topic, an item can only have 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes, totalling 6 affixes, while rolling items using currency it's important to know if it has an open Suffix or an open Prefix, that way you know if it's good based on the other stats present, most of the time it has no desired suffix/prefix open so need to roll again, sometimes while rolling you can get many good stats then it might be worth using orb of annulment or craft suffixes/prefixes cannot be changed and then using orb of annulment to get an open one, it's pricey but possible. Many thing in the game are pretty fun to learn and find ways to use it to it's best, that's the most fun in Path of Exile, also the different build styles, there are so many melee, ranged, magic and summoner with many different gems and elements, you can literally spend a lot of time trying them all and discovering that they excel at some tasks, it's a very fun learning experience.

As for your "free respecs" comment, Jonathan Rogers (one of the POE 2 leads) has mentioned this before, as has Chris Wilson (POE 1 lead). The crux of the matter is with free respecs, you don't really have a character. A degree of lock-in means that you are engaging more with your build, and assuming you aren't following a guide, your decisions matter a lot more, both in terms of how your character performs, but also to you. Plus, with a tree the size of what we have here, free respecs aren't really going to save anyone a lot of time. I mean, if your character hits the Brick Wall of Mediocrity, then where the hell are you gonna know to start respeccing, you know? I'd look into what the POE devs have said about it, they put it much better than I can You can absolutely be a ballista build. They're fun! And you can increase your active totem limit through passives and some gear If Momentum supports Herald of Agony, it'll apply only to your crawler. I'm not sure that it actually will be beneficial though? Could be a dev oversight

i will forever see "bricking" characters as bad design, it's dumb and overly strict. Maybe if orbs of regret were easier to obtain it wouldnt be much of an issue. It's just a cop out answer, there's no reason why there can't be free respecs during the campaign. All they want to do is make people play for 30 hours into the campaign and then realize they can't kill the bosses.

For no respec in campaign - that is a really lame excuse. It only works in the league beginning. It doesn't work when you are at least one week in the league (respec orbs are cheap), it doesn't work as soon as you are ready to have second character (you farmed currency with the first one, so you have a lot of respecs). That is just straight wallgate for new players. If you didn't follow a reliable build and know nothing about poe, your character is going to be doomed or weak. That is not appealing for new players and this mindset give only negative side. They forget that main focus of PoE is around leagues, not standard, so having such friction dont stimulate anyone to experiment more. Also, having limited respecs "forces" you to use optimal build by default and not experiment. It is opposite of what they are claiming.
@rlowethewitch8417 Жыл бұрын
Going into a game that's meant to be more tough than hand-holding D4 or even D3 without putting in any thought to what you're doing isn't a good idea, and neither is allowing players to make mistakes without them actually feeling the sting of it. Free respecs is an awful idea, as it takes away any identity of your character, and it takes away the consequence of messing up. The price of learning is often failure. And Nyx has had only minimal problems in beating the act bosses so far without respecing too much, so there's not much of an issue. People just need to stop dicking out and wanting things easy. Just get good.
@Deckaio Жыл бұрын
I agree, even ignoring that it's part of the economy ( And I don't mean the orbs). Other then the above mentioned reasons. If someone hits a wall, a full respec will most likely not save their build. You need the matching items, and farming them will in most cases take the same time as re-rolling a new character. A good build also needs to grow and evolve, so you as the player grow with it and learn more about all the mechanics and skill interactions. Although, I think doubling the amount of respec-points we get from the campaign and a vendor recipe which allows a full respec wouldn't hurt.

Hey, Nyx! Couple of things: 1. I really enjoy the series, as someone who has played poe for a while its refreshing to see a new player enjoing their way through the acts! 2. Your ascendancy - remember when you completed the labyrinth for the 2nd time and didnt get much out of it? You selected the 1st lab again. If you come back to aspirants plaza (act 3 or act 8), you will see that it offers to open different difficulties of labyrinth. You need to complete the second difficulty(level 55) in order to further ascend. 3. The bow that you were referring to this episod as a 6-link is actually a 6 socket bow, but its a good "base" either way. You can you an orb of scouring on it to make the item "normal" quality and after that, you can use either an orb of alchemy or an essence to make it rare. 4. Your skills: you should support your toxic rain with 3 damage orienter support gems. Look in the green gem tab at Lily Roth and search for damage over time Hope this helps and keep up the good work!

1. The reason GGG gave us for why the respects are "hard" to come by (in the campaign) if because the "importance" of choice and the weight of said choice, in D2 when you "fucked" your character what did you do? create a new one, that's the reasoning Chris gave us 2. Auras have reservation, the go from like 10% to 50% or a specific number Precision-Vitality-Clarity remove a flat amount, they're different because they increase differently, for example, you don't need to get Clarity to level 20, just enough levels to have a good mana regeneration (most times is like Lv5-6) since if you're regenerating more mana than your flat amount you end up "loosing" Casings of your habilites 3. The Green modifier is one of the first leagues, Torment, A "ghost" posses a rare/unique enemy and empowers him, and "touch" any white/blue mob give him a bonus 4. During the Campaign we tend to skip past content and some people also the current league, cuz it "sets you back" 5. Read your items, the rarity of the item is the same as in Diablo2 (with out the set items) 6. The order of Gems only counts for "triggering" stuff, each piece has a priority (Main hand ⇒ Amulet ⇒ Helm ⇒ Off hand ⇒ Body armour ⇒ Gloves ⇒ Boots) and each item as a priority in the order of sockets (intuitive in the order they link) 7. Unique items (Orange) tend to fit in "niche" categories to enable specific settings, a Well crafted Rare (Yellow) will usually be Better in 98.7% of the cases 8. Corrupted items cannot be modified aside from reforging links/sockets/colors/quality I enjoying your takes and how you're experiencing the game, the "freshness" if I may, you talked about the "future" of the series and a new character... I would love a playtrough but following a basic/normal guide, and a comparison with both playtroughs that would be fantastic

In order to bench craft on an item you have to have a space on the item for the craft to occupy. I'm pretty sure I talked about this in my comment on the last video but just in case I'll go ahead and break it down here. Items modifiers are broken down into 2 categories, suffixes and prefixes. The amount of suffixes and prefixes an item can have is based on it's rarity. Magic items can only have 2 modifiers, 1 suffix and 1 prefix. Rare items can have up to 6 modifiers, 3 suffixes and 3 prefixes. If you look on your crafting bench you will see that the modifiers you can craft are broken up into these categories, suffixes and prefixes. And then stuff like sockets and colors which are separate and don't interact with this system. So if you have a magic (blue) item and it's got 2 modifiers on it, it's full. You can't bench craft on it because it has no room left for suffixes or prefixes. In order to bench craft something onto your item the item needs to have an open space for that type of modifier. You can see what modifiers are on an item by holding alt and putting your cursor over the item. It will tell you what each modifier is (suffix or prefix) as well as what tier of that modifier it is and the range of rolls possible in that tier. Why doesn't GGG give free respecs during the campaign. Well I can tell you what they say but will it satisfy you, probably not. It certainly doesn't satisfy me. It's one of the hard and fast decisions GGG has made that most of the community disagrees with but isn't a deal breaker. Basically if I remember correctly it's that GGG feels that choosing where to use your skill points should be a decision that has weight, that it has consequences and that it should take effort to change those decisions. I think most people disagree, I think it would be much better if you could freely change your passive skills around during the campaign at least and then they could lock in place and the system we use now could go into effect once you finish the campaign. But yeah, this is just one of the things the community and the developers disagree on. There was a point in the video where you found a new chest piece, compared it to the one you were wearing and said it was worse. The unfortunate thing is you were wrong. I paused to check, the new item you found was better in every way except evasion rating. It had more added health, more elemental resistances, more sockets. I'm not trying to say that evasion rating is a bad stat, but you weighed it to highly. Life and elemental resistance are much better stats, and sockets are HUGE. As an example there is a unique item in the game called Tabula Rasa. It is a unique simple robe, a basic lowest tier item base. It has no stats, no defenses, but it has 6 linked white sockets. People use this item when leveling alts and sometimes into early endgame because 6 linked sockets that can take gems of any color are that good. But it also tells you that stats like armor or evasion, while useful are not the be all end all. You can't just look at the top of the item and go, well this one has more evasion therefore its better. Max life and elemental resistances until you reach the elemental resistance cap (75 of each type) are probably the most important stats on gear. Also, the game doesn't tell you but at certain points in the campaign it is blanket applying big penalties to your resistances. If you open your character screen and go to the defenses tab you will see that your elemental resistances are probably low or even negative. And there's still another one coming. After you beat the Act 10 boss your elemental resistances get lowered AGAIN. You need a LOT of elemental resistances to make it to +75.

One tip. IF you are in the middle of the map you can always use your portal as a check point so just put down the portal with the portal scroll and the moment you die you go to the last portal/way point. Depends on what you clicked last. So when you do maps after act 10. You should just use portals as semi check points. You can always recolor the sockets. And you can buy the linking things, socket jewels, chromatic orbs and so on by the vendor well one of them. They can be brought for a lesser currency. In reality you are just scraping the surface of the game :D like those 10 arcs are in reality just a tutorial. But still i do enjoy the series and it got me back into this game. For now imma a 89 lightning arrow archer on afliction ... well squishy and all but now im at a bottleneck cause i either need some divine orbs or i go for a necromancer so i can kill bosses and all.

19:39 Bow upgrade -> use "Orb of scouring" x1, "Blacksmith’s Whetstone" x4 (order matther), "Alch" or "Essence: (if any are good). Then, if you are not happy with the result, you can use few "Chaos orbs" or "Orb of scouring"+"Alch" (same effect), it will re-random the mods on the items. Carrefull on this last part, it is costly. Once done, if you have one open prefix or one open suffix you can craft 1 more mod into bench. Max 3 prefix and 3 suffix per item. Once you have something good you can try a couple of "Fusion orb", stop at 4 or 5 links for this level of items. (6 link require 1500 ish orbs, very lucky if u get 1). You can buy fusion orbs with "Jeweller's Orb" at vendor and/or do some beast encounter to craft them.

Love the series and really hope you continue after act 10 as endgame is a massive part of the game and would be a shame if you just skipped it entirely, a couple things to note 1. To check damage you can either press c and check offensive or the easy way, hover over the skill in the skill tab next to your mana, that will just tell you dps of a skill 2. The reason your damage is lacking is because you aren’t linking your main skill enough, at this point your main damaging skill should be 5 or even 6 linked with the “correct” gems, that being gems that you find suit it, if you find a 6 linker on the ground your filter will make sure to let you know and you should definitely check it out 3. If you find a six socket and want to try to 5 link it, increasing the quality will heighten your chances of succeeding 4. Another way to upgrade a magic item it to use a orb of scouring, which will turn it isn’t a normal item and then you can use an orb of alchemy to make it a gold, this is very useful if you find a 6 linker gold with bad stats you can just do the same thing to get different stats 5. Please do the correct labs and make sure to do them before you finish act 10 otherwise they will get much harder 6. Make sure to keep your items up to date, you shouldn’t have something from a much earlier act even if you think it’s better because of the stats it shows, ussaly if the item Is a lot higher level then chances are it’s going to be better despite what it may look like 7. Enjoy and have fun finishing the campaign, if your having fun then that’s all that really matters

I haven't watched the full video yet, but you mentioned at ~9:30 that your "trying to use toxic rain to level it up". As long as you have a skill slotted into one of your items **and** you have the required stats to use that skill it will gain exp. This also includes skills that are in your second set of weapons so its a common strategy to level up extra gems in your second set while you play through the game. ~19:45 :: Just like in Diablo every item can only have a limited number of affixes, for Magic/Blue its 2 Prefixes and 2 Suffixes, for Rare/Yellow its 3 of each (you can't use the crafting bench on white or unique items). An item can also not have 2 of the same affix, so if you have cold resist on an item already you can not craft cold resist onto that item, you can however craft "cold and chaos resist" since its technically a different affix. There are very few ways to selectively remove affixes from an item so the most common way to do so is to completely wipe an item clean with an Orb Of Scouring, this turns the item into a white item and you start fresh though this does not effect the Sockets in anyways since that is not tied to the rarity of an item. Orbs Of Scouring are also required to **change** which affix is crafted onto an item. For example if you craft Fire resistance onto an item and later and to change it to Lightning Resistance you will need the resources for the Lightning Resistance craft as well as an Orb Of Scouring. This is mainly used when trying to craft end-game items and doesn't see a lot of use during the campaign. Crafting in PoE can get extremely complex and is, by far, the most complex item crafting system I have seen in any game, so if that is something that interests you then feel PoE has you covered, though it generally takes hundreds or thousands of resources to craft good items. Edit: You are not an Assassin. That is a different class xD But on a more serious note I think it would be great if you continued the series past Act 10 and dove a bit into the "maps" end-game system. The end-game is where most of the content is to the point where many players consider the campaign to be a sort of tutorial.

Free respec is a highly debated topic among the community. The developers' stance on it is as follows: they want the game to be trial and error for the new players. First, you sink more time into the game that way by making more characters. Second, being able to fix your build depents on the margin of your mistakes - you in fact DO get few free respec points during the campaign. Third, the respec points being tradeable currency adds to the economy side of the game. Something like that.
@Loiner-14 Жыл бұрын
Devs believe the following regarding === Free Respecs === Devs believe that having full respecs would make character buiilding too "floaty" where a person can be an archer one second, and a melee slammer type the next second following a respec so it harms the games experience in that way. It makes choices feel like they like have less permenance and also encourages players to perhaps think a bit less about their choices if they can un-do them whenever they want. As such, if someone is an archer and wants to go melee (like you did) then they would encourage someone to make another character. This is because the campaign is relatively short on the 2nd+ playthrough and more importantly, they think that respeccing a character is very different to building them from scratch. There are certain "problems" you will have fixed on your archer build (like not having enough of a stat, or defences etc), but if you could suddenly respec then you will instead have certain "melee" problems, and rather than dealing with them 1 by 1 when levelling, you now have all those issues piled on you at once since you had an entire respec and would feel lost at sea. As always, it's definitely subjective since both options have ups and downs, but currently the devs fall on the side of "just make another character". Also worth noting that it's Very hard to "brick/completely destroy" a build in PoE so it's not like people can fall into a position where the campaign is impossible to complete.

The ascendancies/Labyrinth work like this = First ascendancy (Top option @ the lab) - Lets you choose what 3 sub classes you want, and gives you 2 points in that tree (you have already done this one) second ascendancy (second option down) - 2 more points third ascendancy (third down) - 2 points fourth ascendancy (fourth down) - Last 2 points each ones requires you doing specific trials in zones in the campaign (like the ones in the tunnels) its pretty important that you get the rest of your points, as those nodes are worth a lot more than normal nodes

He is leaving so many potentially good items on the ground, that it hurts to watch. At 16:42 he picks up a evasion body armor with life, life regen, and 2 resists, better than his current armor, and just tosses it away, he even had room to craft something else on it. Also, all the chromatic and jeweller orb vendor items he's leaving on the ground is hurting his own progression, those are items he could be using to craft more sockets or different colours on his gem sockets. I know he's still learning, but i dont think i was this close minded when i starting playing poe years ago. Great series though!
@MrAlex1er Жыл бұрын
For the respeccing conversation, here's a few reasons why GGG might not want free respecs - There is a great incentive at league start to finish the campaign as fast as possible. The earlier you get there, the faster you can get money. This means if a few builds are better everyone would play these at league start and respec whenever they want later. This creates a lower diversity of builds at the start. (Side note, you could say the same thing right now, but there is an opportunity cost to it. Either you start another character or spend a big chunk of money at the start to buy these regret orbs. Because of this some people prefer not to.) - It creates a bit of a devalue to the choices you make in your tree. You would just put whatever you want whenever you get a point because it would always be better than waiting to know where you want to go. - Finally, I think it prevents the fact that some builds could spec/unspec out of some "optimal tree" for a given content. For example, imagine every time you go do bosses, you take some life/suppress and unspec out of it when killing mobs/farming. This could very well be the optimal way to play, but would could very quickly become tedious and a source of FOMO for some. Adding a cost to it makes it so that you would need a higher average yield to justify respec'ing.
@feather1ce Жыл бұрын
Main issue with free respec is that if you are experienced player and want to level a new character you won't have any "puzzle to solve". Currently if you are playing caster fire witch, for example, and don't have a decent amount of currency to burn on respec after leveling, you need to come up with a version of your future build which is tailored to your archetype. With free respec a huge amount of players would level with same OP leveling spec every time even if they hate it. Some can argue that it is good because supposedly majority of players hate leveling in general, but just changing game design to please this point of view is not something GGG is willing to do. It is basically their choice between "yeah, our leveling sucks, have free respec to rush it" vs "not happening, but we hope to improve it some other way later". And, obviously, making it free once would seal this door forever.

Your Ballistas are capped by Max Ballistas, meaning you can have up to three total regardless of skill. So you can have two of one skill and one of another. If you want more Ballistas, you need Passive Tree skills to increase the maximum.
@anupew3276 Жыл бұрын
Another great video :) Several things: Do not use skill to level up skillgem. Gems (as well as your characters) level up when you kill things. That means kill gives XP to every single skill you have, you dont need to use it. You can even have it in 2nd weapon slot (get 2 wands, daggers etc, 3 sockets each, its really easy to get 2 3socket one hand weapons, but hard to get 6socket 2handed one) Corrupted items cannot be uncorrupted. They are often quite strong Clarity - Auras normally reserve % of mana, Clarity and Vitality aura reserve set ammount increasing with gem level. If you dont need tons of mana to sustain you often dont need a maximum level of Clarity that your intelligence allows to sustain mana regen. Pushing clarity too high might even hurt you (for example you reserve so much mana you cant put another support gem to your primary skill and still be able to cast it while one or two levels lower Clarity would sustain your mana regen and have enought room to use supported skill). Labyrinth. Do it. Every level (normal, cruel,...) gives you ascentency points (and enchants at the end), but ascendency points are only once per dificulty level inventory - you can set affinity to your stashes (in stash settings) - do it for item specific stash tabs, that way when you ctrl+click to move item from inventory to stash it will automatically move that item to its affinity stash tab. Also stop having 1/5 of inventory full of gems and currencies. You have gems and currencies stash, use it :)

There is a lot of great information out there on how to start scaling your characters damage and survivability up post act 10. Its information that isn't like a build guide to follow per say, but more of a general "if you want to actually play late game you NEED to know this information." The game has so many intricate mechanics like crafting, upgrading flasks and skill gems, so many currency items that add modifiers to gear, how certain gear/gems/passive tree nodes mesh together to amplify. That is to say, I love the series so far! After act 10 the game really starts, and you probably wont get very far without learning these. Post campaign is not beginner friendly, and PoE doesn't do much in-game to teach these concepts at least from my experience. For post act 10, a build like yours you need to be resistance capped and usually bow based builds go high evasion rating (later game gets over 90% evasion chance) and spell suppression also, which a lot is picked up in passive skill tree nodes.

Yeah, my 2 main critiques for PoE are that 1) the game doesn't explain you shit (wikis exist but needing a wiki is bad game design) and 2) it's not really free to play (you "need" to purchase tabs to play maps, making the transactions not "cosmetics only" as some like to say). Admittedly I refuse to buy the tabs due to the fact that the game is designed to sell you tabs, that's literally the only reason currency only stacks to as many as it does.
@brot1991 Жыл бұрын
@@Syaniiti To be fair, you still get a lot of game out of it without spending a dollar. I played 100 hours before I spent money on stash tabs. Also, all your microtransactions convert to POE2, so you don't lose them when you want to swap to the next game.
@Syaniiti Жыл бұрын
@@brot1991 Sure, you can get a lot of game for 550 coins (55 bucks). But that's just to get rid of the annoyances of game design made to sell stash tabs, then add in 140 for a nice to have one and you're nearing 70 bucks. I'd gladly pay 50 bucks once and get all the stash tabs they insist on adding every league to have a remotely manageable stash but if I were to pay 70 now I'd be down another 5 or 10 the next league I decide to play just so I don't have to spend 75% of my playtime organizing the stash. Oh and I've spent 1800 hours and refuse to give money to a company that sells things to fix problems they themselves have created, I just quit the league once the stash becomes unmanageable (and never ever ever ever log into standard).
@BlueTemplar153 ай бұрын
@@Syaniiti Both of these still barely apply at his level yet (and he's gone much further than most players already). There's a ton of noob-critical information (most of which is not misleading) in the Help Panel, the Character Screen, the Alt-extended information on Passives, Skills and Modifiers... (But of course you have to read all of these, experiment with them, then re-read them again, rinse and repeat several times - and not trying to faceroll the game like he seems to be doing, which is a problem specific to someone recording for an audience I guess ?) And while especially tab affinity is amazing, not having it won't slow an already slow brand new player that much. (And in fact more stash space is only going to be a curse, since a new player doesn't know what is good - and a basic loot filter won't tell what is specifically good for their build - and they will just have to manage more crap.)

The theory behind no complete respecs is forcing you to really own choices made. You get 20ish points to move things around as you level in the optional quests and then orbs of regret to even further change if you wish. So that's basically roughly 20% of your points that are easy to easily move around to tweak your character. The 'what's this' is an Abyss. That's another former league that incorporated into the main game. Jun / Syndicate is another one (Betrayal league). You can use orbs of scouring to de-level gems if your ability to meet requirements goes away. You vendor the gem with an orb of scouring together and you get the lower-level gem back. Also, skills level up whether you use them or not, as long as they're socketed in gear you're wearing (even in the backup weapon slot, pretty much the only thing weapon swap is used for in PoE 1). Lightning has a status effect 'shocked' that causes whoever is shocked to take more damage. As far as changing to check DPS - use the character screen (c), you can select each skill to see a breakdown of its stats. Then you can change something and see how things change. You keep calling 6 socket items (6s) 6 linked (6l). As to the magic (blue) bow - you can upgrade it to rare with a regal orb. Magic items can only have 2 affixes - one prefix, one suffix. Rare items can have 6 affixes - 3 prefix, 3 suffix. You can only have 1 crafted affix on an item unless you apply the multi-mod affix first (it's pretty expensive) And for the love the god, get the Heart of Oak notable node. It's right near your starting point and only takes 2 points to get for a nice hp bonus. The health pool issue is more of a DPS issue for you I expect. And don't end the series with Act 10. You gotta get into mapping.

Yo, don't be afraid to use your portal scrolls during the campaign, they're a common drop. Whenever you use a portal scroll and go back to town, you recover your flasks, your HP/Mana and the portal lasts for a few minutes so you can sell or stash the drops to keep your inventory cleaner and easier to manage. And tinker with your equipment on the craft bench to add STR or INT if necessary. Check the support skill gems too, take some time to read them, flat damage/attack speed can be very powerful.

You should absolutely go stash your Currency at the end of each 'zone', there's generally no reason to carry anything but Scrolls of Wisdom and Portal Scrolls. You can carry some to use on Strongboxes though, generally just a stack of Orbs of Chance or Orbs of Alchemy is good to have for that purpose.

Love the content, man. Such a quality! Shout out to editor too (as i get it you have one). About the gameplay - i was doing the same run as you this time. No guides, just my own knowledge. Had somewhat similar gameplay as you did, but a little smoother. Bosses though were tough and i did die a lot as well. The real issue will be at the last part of the last act AND then you hit what is called "self soft lock" at the very start of the end-game. You will simply die too much and not be able to kill anything. Physically not able to. Or just like with the lightning boss in this vid - spent 30 minutes or more to just kill him. To unlock the soft-locked character - you are will HAVE to respec roughly whole character skill tree (or if very lucky 50% of it). Then somehow find yourself items to buy from trade. So ye, I am very agreed with the desire to have full respec available for free in Path of Exile. Simply because it would allow people to stay in the game and keep playing instead of hitting the wall, understanding that they can't do anything about it and there is only a new character start + follow-the-guide option left for them, which is a) slow, b) tedious, c) boring and repetitive, d) not so fun because now it is mechanical. Albeit build from a guide can rip and tear through acts like doom slayer with bare hands... Which might be is own fun. The good side of such approach though is being able to get to the end game content which DESERVES YOU TO TOUCH IT AND TRY!.. And as a person, who loves watching a person, who makes a review playthrough of PoE, I think you could make a Chapter 2 of the same poe series, but with a guides and shits with the builds that are legit boosted with rocket fuel and atomic bombs. Hint of the day: your items in stash are openly available for all of your characters in the league. So if you make a new character, you just put some starting items to dress up into the stash and then take them. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAN!

And about crafting and items. Many people already mentioned the crafting bench and what to look at, but still. Many said that you should not pick up everything and sell it, but i disagree for a simple reason that you end up having not good enough gear to simply defend yourself. Quick tips how to differ good from bad: 1. IF you DON'T want to craft anything (except the bench crafts) - Look for the highest item base (they differ by stats as Dex/Str/Int. Also can be in pairs. It gives higher main base defense stat. (Higher base = higher increase benefit) - Look for Extra Life and Elemental Resistances. If an item has at least 2 of those, it is already ok to wear, unless the defence stat is low. If there is 3, then it is generally good. Gloves: life + elem resists > increased defense stat > attack speed/cast speed > flat damage > accuracy. Shoes: move speed + elem res > def stat > rest of bs Body: life + def stat + elem res > whatever else. Helmet: life + elem res > def stat. Bow: added Elem Damage, Physical damage %, attack speed, +Lvl socketed gems (or bow gems). - on Items with not full mods you can add a crafted. Look for open prefix or suffix. Those items are already better than fully packed. Prefix and Suffix are different. Life / Damage / Move Speed is Prefix, Elem Res is Suffix - On body and double handed weapons 6 sockets is max. If you find such item (from like from a rare enemy usually) with the best base, then you should keep it for crafting later. Getting 6 sockets is expensive af. - Keep resists at 75% or at least 68%+. Saves live. If you find gear that puts your resistances OVER 75% cap - don't worry, some enemies can lower your res and that means your extra overcap becomes handy and you don't drop lower than you should. (Albeit not always works like that, but it is better than dying in 0.3 seconds to a single ignited ground) Crafting: Crafting bench is your best friend. Crafting defence stat on armour pieces is the best goto cheap option. That's why you look for good base item with life and elem res. Crafting Elemental Resistances where needed to get you to sweet 75%. Crafting colours is somewhat cheaper than manually using Chromatic orbs. Crafting sockets is not really needed. 4 sockets is easy to get with just Jewelers orbs. Crafting linked sockets is more expensive, yes, but up to 4 links is relatively cheap (up to 5 orbs of Fusing) Crafting RARE ITEMS: DO NOT TRY to upgrade a Magic item into Rare item. It takes a very rarely dropping Orb, called Regal Orb. I had more Chaos orbs than a Regal orb. Magic is blue, Rare is Yellow. DO NOT TRY to 'reroll' the item with the CHAOS orb. It is expensive, and useless entirely. Plus it is essentially the same as throwing an Orb of Scourging then an Alchemist Orb. Literally same effect of random yellow Rare item. Difference? Chaos orbs are the $ in this game economy. So it's your trading currency. Alchemist Orbs are pennies. Usually 1/10 ratio. To craft a playthrough item, that you could wear for a while and not feel like a homeless beggar, you will have to recraft the same item at least 3 to 5 times in a row. Until it has satisfying numbers and stats. To do that you will need the Orb of Scourging - it cleans the Magic or Yellow item into White, making it empty. Or you get just a new white base item. You can get the current act best base items, that are equal in level to the current act, from Vendors, aka the NPC with quests. There is one with gems, flasks and jewelry and there is one with Armour and Weapons. There are usually all the basic ones. Their item pool updates pretty often. Their items cost Transmutation or Alteration Orbs, rare to cost Alchemist or Chance orbs (99% not worth it). It is easier and Better to get a White base item and use Alchemist Orbs that convert from White to Yellow. Even Better option - Essences, because they give at least 1 mod on the item, that you need. Getting 2 is already ok. If you get 3 good ones with big numbers you got a good item to run around with. If didn't get some needed mod, like elem res or a defense increase - perfect opportunity to use benchcraft. Note. To craft an item you will have to have orb of Scourging. This one is not cheap to get, nor easy to get early on from Vendors as well, cause it costs a lot to convert. Really. Unique items are not really good, nor can be modified (unless it is smth really special, but we won't go there >.>) Sorry for a wall of text.
@johnnysvensson Жыл бұрын
might have been mentioned before, but the base of the item determines the odds of specific color of sockets. for example, a strength base has a higher chance of red sockets, int bases has higher chance of blue and dex bases have a higher chance of rolling green sockets.. same goes for mixed bases, like astr/int based armor have a higher chance of red and blue sockets et.c. This is important to keep in mind when selecting your gear, because you dont want to spend more currency than needed to roll your socket colors. pick up and vendor: 6 socketed items and 3 linked items with one socket of each color. these both sell for currency that is crucial for modifying the number and color of sockets in your items. And finally, the only way to change sockets on corrupted items is via the crafting bench. Edit: you can figuure out what base an item is by checking its base stat requirements

Great series! You would do very well by taking your time to read. Almost everything has text for how to use and what it does. As a rule you press Alt for more information when you hover over an item. I understand that it is easy to get excited about all the new stuff but the amount of time you spend reading and understanding the game you will get back tenfold in enjoyment of the game.

The Seasonal Events are called League Mechanics. The great thing about PoE is in the endgame when you do maps, you can spec points into an Atlas skill tree which affects the content you do in your maps, so you can spec into the things that you want to do/enjoy and can spec into passives that make certain mechanics that you dont like, not spawn.
@Pu1seMusic Жыл бұрын
The health pool con is because of your dps. You HAVE to get your main dps skill in a 4 link. It's seriously super important for your damage and you will really struggle with the next act and end game if you don't.

It's fun (and sometimes painful) to see you progress. I have a hard time picturing you playing the endgame successfully, but for a first character you're doing great. Consider following an easy build guide for your second playthrough, just so you experience how a smooth campaign plays.

Max level is 100, but it’s really hard to get to, i have never done it(only to 95). By pressing tab you see at the top right the monster level which is their level.(i have made a little bible for you to read on your act 7 video for passive skill trees) You get some respec points for doing optional quests. You can’t un-corrupt corrupted items. On a bow you are looking for DAMAGE. In this case Physical damage because you convert physical to chaos if you want to stay toxic rain ballistas. Probably void manipulation linked with unbound ailments and deadly ailments will increase your damage. A white item(normal)

As always thanks for the video, I watch every one of them within the day, its been very refreshing to see. I am sure you are buried in tips at this point so I won't bother adding any. Like some others have said though I think at least exploring some of the mapping mechanics would be fun even if you don't go hard into late game. I was happy to hear you wondering about how fast you could do a second character and I think the answer will pleasantly surprise you quite a bit, especially if you don't take the long breaks in between since you are still soaking in a lot of info at this stage. I am also a big fan of ballista, I think they are very fun and they have a LOT of potential depending on how you go about it. If there is one thing I could add, its that there is a totem node on the bottom right corner of the skill tree that's perfect for ballista's if you want to take a look. (ballista's are totems if you want to search that key term).

Lol, when started watching this series, there were 8 videos on the playlist. I didnt notice new just appeared. Corrupted means "cant be modified further". Those side areas with red visuals and some extra text (like monsters deal extra fire dmg) are also corrupted and guaranteed drop random vaal skill (those requires souls to use).

Been loving the series! Definitely understand it coming to an end as this is a "first time trying series" but I am curious how you would do learning the end game (the campaign and all the stuff you've found so far is maybe 30% of the game) with all the maps, bosses, and extreme depth of the permanent season mechanics on stuff like delving, heists, etc. That being said though, I think the think I would look forward to most next would be you diving into the season and trying to follow a guide for it, then comparing the guide playthrough with your learning play through. Would be a very unique insight I think. Most people get told to follow a guide and just do it, so they don't understand how much of a difference it can make. Not saying you did badly or anything, you've done great! I think my first build I went full glass cannon with like 5 different damaging spells (was coming from D3 prior) and gave up around act 7 or so because everything one shot me. Just seeing the difference between self learning with comments advice vs following a guide I think would be interesting.

Definitely a new series but on the current league and after watching some tips and tricks here on YT. I realised that watching new exiles get better and better is one of the greatest things. Keep up the good work my man. And to answer yoour question, in the late game most people play mechanics from the leagues they love the most or that are profitable. Not to scare you, but there's another huge skill tree to customise your endgame experience. In SSF however (which is what I personally play) we have to play all the mechanics because we need all the crafting supplies and other rewards to progress. But don't worry about it, you're not gonna have to deal with SSF, too soon for you. Eventually though, eventually you'll be a HC SSF chad ^^

Tldr on betrayal members have rewards tied to them that changes depending on which branch they are inwhen you raid safehouse. If you execute them it increases the rewards but also makes them stronger.when you fill the info bar you can raid that w Branches safehouse. The leader of the safehouse has double rewards. As you raid safehouses you'll get progress towards the main syndicate safehouse with a boss and all branch leaders. Its complicated

Yo mate, thanks for doing this awesome series and happy that you enjoy poe. I would like that you keep up the series and work your way to the first old endgame boss that is called Shaper as a goal. Not going to spoil anything more than that but would be nice to see a new player tackle the endgame of this. If you like balista and toxic rain i would run balista, toxic rain, void manipulation and vicious projectiles as a 4 link so 3 green 1 red. If you get a 5 then add a blue with efficany and later a red one with damage on full life untill you get an empower gem but thats a bit futher down the lane. Also passive tree there is a node called watchtower that makes so you can have another balista totem. So makes it you can have 4 and there is one quite far away called panopticon that also give another ome but that is quite far away. Also to check dps of your abilities then hover the ability with your mouse on the bar. This gives you a rough idea how much it does but take note that some abilites doesnt show the damage becuase it scales weird. Like Toxic rain. Often you scale toxic rain with the pods you do and not the actual hit it does (hence the tooltip is inaccurate on this skill) however you can see the pod damage of this skill in a line when you hover the skill. Then it is called deals X chaos damage over time. Take note also that toxic rain scales very well with gem level and cus you scale the pods and not the acutal hit it does and damage over time and damage over time multipler Other than that keep going strong hope this helps abit to increase your damage and helps you on the way. Hope to see you do more of this.

there are mainly 2 ways to change a corrupted item (you cannot uncorrupt it tho) 1: put it in the crafting bench and you can change the sockets there but it is more expensive 2: there are special currency that you can get later on (tainted) you do not have any and can not get them before maps (unless you trade)

the corpse on display in town is Diyalla, the gemling queen. after you powered that beam drill to pierce the wall, it blew up all the gems embedded in her flesh... which was kinda keeping her immortality active. she met her end after you went on to Oriath. also the abyss, the "earthquakey thing" was at one point a league, that was later added into the base game. this process is largely how the game added content to the games layers of interraction.

Again a very enjoyable video. Thanks for taking us with you on this journey and also thanks to your editor for a great job done! Your questions: Are you skipping seasonal content or do you do everything? I personally skip all the seasonal content and mechanics I do not like. Each league I pick one or two things I 'd like to play around with, focus on that and get a new experience out of it. Is the health pool of bosses too high or is my DPS too low? A bit of both. In case of the story bosses your DPS is lacking. But some yellow "random" bosses can get rediculous tanky if the right (wrong) modifiers come together. They are also the source of random one-shots. My hint for you: You need to make sure that you get one ACTION SKILL GEM linked to three SUPPORT SKILL GEMS (or more if you manage to get a five/six-link). Your damage scales with the number of support gems linked to one action skill gem significantly. Happy New Year to you and your editor!
@Groosome548 Жыл бұрын
@Nyxvellum use either toxic rain or scourge arrow and link it with 3 to 4 supports that scale either ailments or damage over time, also please use points on the tree that scale "damage over time multiplier" or "chaos damage over time multiplier" your character now has no investment in damage whatsoever that helps.

If you mouse over your skills in the hot bar in the lower right, their DPS is listed in the tooltip. Also, you can press C to go to the character sheet, click on the skills in the middle of the window, and see detailed stats for each skill under the Offense tab. These estimates aren’t super accurate (at least compared to Path of Building), but they are useful for comparing relative values for support gem and weapon changes, and the like.

love that you are liking the game, to answer a few questions, corrupted item cannot be changed once corrupted, the only exception is that there are ways to change sockets and links on the item, but these are pretty expensive. since you seem to like the poison abilities in the game, you wanna look for bows with high physical damage cause your poison skills will convert this to chaos damage, the best way to increase the damage of your abilities is to link more supports to them, in the case of toxic skills, good supports to link are vicious projectile, unbound ailment, deadly ailments, void manipulation. also as a bow build adding greater volley or greater multiple projectile can help a lot. especially during the campaign having a chest piece or a bow with a lot of links will often increase your damage more then a bow with better stats although you can use jeweler orbs and fusion orbs to give the better stat bow the sockets you need keep up the fun and hope you will like the game even more PS: I know you don't wanna look up guides, but it absolutely is helpful to look up videos or posts that explain any of the mechanics you are having trouble understanding and I don't think it would ruin the build crafting for you

As for the items, there are 4 rarities, normal, magic, rare, unique. -Normal items are white and have no modifiers (prefixes and suffixes) -magic items are blue and have one prefix, and one suffix -rare items are yellow and can have up to 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes. So an item with less than 3 of each can be used in the crafting bench to fill up the rest of the slots (e.g. a rare item with 3 prefixes cannot have a prefix crafted on it with the crafting bench, same rule apply to blue items and their limits) -unique items: unmodifiable other than upgrading quality and using vaal orbs to corrupt. Scouring orb: make any non unique or corrupted item normal rarity. Transmutation orb: normal > magic Alteration: magic > magic with diff modifiers. Alchemy orb: normal > rare Regal orb: magic > rare Chaos orb: rare > rare with diff modifiers.

Since it seems that everything else is covered by other people in the comment section, I want to mention a few things about the syndicate mechanic. Basically, the best thing that you want to do as a beginner is to execute any members that you have defeated during any syndicate encounter. The last member will always be some sort of a bargain, by either switching places with other members in the syndicate, providing some info in regards to a safehouse, removing them from the syndicate entirely, or just flat out dropping some items. Once you have defeat a member that has 3 stars as their rank in the syndicate, then you can interrogate them in order to get a lot of info in regards to their safehouse. For now I would recommend sticking to what I mentioned, since it is just some super beginner stuff, but different members do provide different things when allocated to different safehouses, and some of them are involved with crafting really amazing pieces of gear, but this is something that should not be your focus for now when you meet them, so just like I said, execute, bargain, interrogate when they reach 3 stars. Rinse and repeat and you will get deeper into that mechanic. Your videos have also been super entertaining to watch, so keep up the good work! Can't wait for you to get to the endgame and see your reaction regarding it! :)

Different items give you different currencies when sold. For example, selling an item with one of each color will ALWAYS give you one of the items you use to change slot colors on your own equipment. That's why people want you to pick up six-slot items. The filters should help with that too. Takes a bit to learn, but massively helps decide what to grab and what to leave.

Hello and hope you see this :D There are six sockets and six links ( having six sockets without links does not improve your damage , If you have a six socket piece (bow / armor ) - you can use orb of fusing to link those sockets - you can use chromatic orbs to change the colors to your preferred ones - If a item is blue ( Magic item ) you can use orb of scouring to remove everything from it and make it a common Item ( white item ) - If you now have a common item you can now use a alchemy orb to make it rare (If you want to change the modifiers on the item again : rare item ( yellow item ) -> scouring orb -> common item ( white item ) -> orb of alchemy - Generally speaking you want the most amount of sockets with the most amount of links ( orb of fusings link sockets , jeweler orb change the number of sockets ) - The last thing if you want to see your DPS for you have 2 options - Hover over your skill in the right corner and it should see the DPS you are making ( change a item or something and see if the value increases ) - The second option is when pressings C ( going in the character window you can see all you equipped skills and after clicking on one of the skills in the character window you will see all the information about that skill (DPS / Crit /types of Damage etc.) Hope you see this and nice to have you part of the POE community

Whenever you accidentally equip something that hurts your stats, you can either put a talent point into a STR node (and take it back later, since 1 point refund items are not that hard to get a few of) or find/buy an item with the stat on it you need, and equip it long enough to re-equip your previous item, or otherwise fix the situation.

There are 4 labs 1st - Normal - you already done it 2nd - Cruel - this is the one you need to do 3rd - Merc - do it before the last boss of Act 10, the boos will lower your elemental and chaos ress again 4th - Uber lab - you will be able to it when you get an item that drops from the trials in the end game system you can check your current resistances from your character tab and if you are not capped you can do some Blood Aquaduct runs by resetting the instance (ctrl+left click on the waypoint on the map or the entry to the instance) to get some gear with good ress before going to act 10 and the End Game

@NyxVellum Some auras reserve a flat amount of mana and their cost increases when they are leveled up. Other auras reserve a percentage of mana and their cost does not change when they are leveled up. Also, support stones have their own manacosta modifier, you can see it by pointing at the stone, so you should not connect auras with support stones. It is also worth investing more in damage with poison and chaos on the passive tree. And complite second labyrinth, you will soon open third.

Small recommendation that made life a lot easier for me: I have changed the binding of the skill that is by default bound to the middle mouse button to be bound to the space bar instead and always but my dash skill on there so that I can dash via the space bar. this helped me a lot to not forget about my dash and easily and frequently use it. Not sure if it will suit you as well but you might give it a try :)

Regal Orbs upgrade a blue item into a yellow one. But Regal Orbs are fairly rare. The idea when you'd use them is when you have a perfect blue item and you want to try and get lucky with some new affixes that it'll get when upgrading into yellow. A tip for your future attack based characters, there is a recipe that allows you to make a good phys weapon at any point during leveling. The recipe (the items you need to sell in unison to any vendor) is any white weapon (preferably as high level as you can buy/find), a blue or preferably yellow rustic sash (you can buy a white one and use an essence to upgrade it to yellow) and one Blacksmith's Whetstone. Also be carful not to link any support gems to your auras, it makes them reserve more mana and it's almost never worth it.

It feels like Act 9 was a straight up DPS check to help you decide if you're ready for the last act. As far as not following a build guide on one's first playthrough, I think you are spot on, but once you get to know all the gems relatively well, it feels better, imo, to decide what kind of character you want to play and find a guide specific to that playstyle. Otherwise, you can do your own research and figure it out, but those of us with jobs beyond playing videos games can really save time by taking advantage of the time others put into researching the skill tree. Every type of build usually has a few specific high-value skill points on the tree. And just knowing those makes a world of difference.

Two ways to upgrade a blue Item 1. Regal Orb which you currently don't have is not very rare but they don't drop often on acts. 2. Orb of scouring that are the white rugged ones you have some of those and then upgrade with an essence to guarantee a mod or with an alchemy and upgrade but all random mods. In acts bot are usually good options if the item is worthy

Stuff you asked about: For the most part, each league mechanic has A THING which is specific to it, or is the best way of doing a particular thing. If you like the mechanic or want the thing then you focus that league mechanic, otherwise you skip it. For example Heist gives you access to special versions of unique items, Incursion can get you powerful one-off corruptions, Bestiary and Harvest have crafts you can only get with them. Other league mechanics will give you a little of everything or just add extra monsters for you to kill for more chances at good loot. It gets deeper than that of course! With your magic bow, you can use an orb of scouring to turn it normal, then an orb of alchemy to make it rare, and from there use your essence. Higher tier essences can be used on items of normal or rare rarity. If you support herald of agony with momentum, it will make that aura cost more to reserve, and the momentum buff will affect your minion. Usually you want it on one of your own utility skills. Stuff you didn't ask about: . . . . . You don't need to actually use a gem for it to level up. Just having it socketed in your gear, even in your off-hand, will let it gain experience as monsters die around you. Clarity is one of the auras that gains additional flat reservation cost as you level it. Most players keep it at a lower level, maybe between levels 3 to 6, just to help out with mana. You can use your tooltip in the bottom right, or open your character sheet and select an active skill, and the game will show you approximate DPS numbers. For a true answer you would need a properly configured Path of Building, but for simple gear swaps or support gem swaps sometimes those two in-game resources are helpful. Withering touch helps you apply wither. Each stack of wither increases chaos damage taken. Easiest way to do it is either: have totems as main damage and you apply wither yourself, or you be the main damage and use your totems to apply wither.

As for the series, I think it's fine to let stuff end when it would naturally end instead of trying to make it live on. That being said there are plenty of league mechanics you only tried once or twice. Also you still have The Endgame to react to - you've only just come upon the end of the tutorial!

Going through the acts each new league became a single sitting thing for me over time: Know how to build and level, what to pick up and what to ignore, how to rush through acts. I did trials while going through the acts but usually nothing but the very first labyrinth. Real good sense of "I'm learning and getting better" as you stick to PoE.

As always, I love this series so much. I hope you stick a bit with PoE once you're done with the campaign. You lack a bit of damage indeed. People mention it but you should at least work your main damage skill into a 4 link and link it with void manipulation probably. Just a tip, go on the GREEN support gem tab of Lili roth (the seller) and maybe type "chaos" in research bar to find any support gem that could fit well with toxic rain or scourge arrow. A classic build that looks a bit like yours is caustic arrow + toxic rain ballistas (or the other way around) or toxic rain + toxic rain ballistas (the little pod on the ground are doing chaos damage over time and stack in term of damage with themselves) Greetings from france!

Hi! (notice similar comment below but i`ll leave mine too) About CON - not the enemys HP pool is problem. You have an serious damage issues because of not using very basic game mechanics. Usually players chooses 1 or 2 main damage skills and supports it by maximum of support gems each. This main skills uses items with max connected sockets, other items is using for additional defensive or movement skills that do not requires many connected sockets. In your case it might be smth like (for your 4 linked items choose 4 of 5) Caustic Arrow (main damage gem) Arrow Nova Support Swift Affliction Support Vicious Projectiles Support Void Manipulation Support Toxic Rain (main damage gem) Mirage Archer Support Swift Affliction Support Efficacy Support Void Manipulation Support You can add something like Malevolence aura and Despair curse to grant even more damage to bosses

I understand your POV of not wanting to use guides as I did the same with my first character, but using a guide and trying to understand why it does things is an amazing way to learn the games intricate mechanics and I kinda wish I had done it from the start. After doing this for 1 or 2 leagues and then making your own builds is so much more rewarding than stumbling about for ages, getting oneshot and hitting like a wet noodle. Good luck and lots of fun on your journey Exile!

To upgrade a magic(blue) item to rare(yellow) you need regal orb. If the magic item do not have any mod you need you can use orb of scouring, thats gonna remove everything on the item, so it gonna be a simple grey normal item. Than you can use orb of alchemy to make normal item to a rare item. It always have random mods that are available on the item, and like 4-6 mod. Exalt orb can add an extra mod, orb of annulment removes a random mod. The corrupted items cannot be mosified with simple currency. You can change socket with tainted currency, or trough ceafting bench. But in the banch a normal item cost like 10 yeweller orb to get 4 socket, a corrupted item cost 10 yeweller + 10 vaal orb. 5 socket is around 50 yeweller + 50 vaal orb. Changing things on corrupted items worth only if you have lot free currency or its gonna be useful for a long time.

The lady at the beginning who was taking a… nap. Was the old ruler of high-gate. She gave you the nice expensive gem reward and golem gem reward before you released Kitava. One of the (side?) quests determines the new ruler of highgate. Either the man sitting under the stairs or the woman down from the portal. Its an interesting question from a lore perspective. Also, the giant scorpion (or one of the smaller scorpions made by it) killed the sister of the female ruler-contestant Also also: the max level is 100. But most players don’t reach it since the grind from lvl90-100 is bigger than the grind of every level before it. Combined

The 6 socket gear is good early on because it vendors for 7 Jeweller Orbs. You were saying "6 link," but that means all 6 sockets are linked. Getting a 6 link (typically your main skill with 5 optimal supports) is one of your first end game milestones. The fissure you were following is called Abyss, and it was a league mechanic at one point. Same goes for the Immortal Syndicate stuff. It has some in-game help sections (one on the board itself) that'll help you figure it out. Otherwise, there are cheat sheets you can google if you're inclined to look it up. Mods you unveil become available on your crafting bench at reduced strength. For future videos, it'd be nice to either see you play fresh in the new league and/or explore the end game, which is where PoE really shines. You can either play this character into the end game, or take the fresh league character into it, whatever suits your fancy.

Hey , there is Help menu in game, you should check it out, good info) idk why nobody tells you that you can press SHIFT when you using your currency so you can use it multiple times without moving your mouse back to stash. Also Rare items can have 3 affix and 3 suffix (you can press ALT and hover over item to see what suffixes and affixes it has) - thats why your crafting bench didnt work Max level is 100, but from about lvl 70-75 your lvling getting slower and slower Act 10 is the time when you would like to start crafting/buying your gear because after act 10 all your resistances will be decreased by !60! points (both Elemental and CHAOS) so its IMPORTANT to have your resistances capped Also little tips about UI : Go to settings and watch what you can change there, like HP bars over enemies, also you can make your map more readable About bosses: Its not about their HP being big, its about your damage being low :D So basically for your build you can choose Toxic rain as main damaging skill and try to buff it as much as you can You are looking for such explicits as Damage over Time, Chaos damage , Chaos damage over time, etc. also some flat Phys dmg For armor gear - it SHOULD have at least 1 suffix with elemental resistance, better if 2 or more) For act 10 good item is item that gives you 60+ total resistances

I'll explain how Gem Sockets work for you briefly as well as how to get more Sockets / Links on your gear: Colors on Sockets: Each color of socket is based on a main stat type, red = Strength based, blue = Intelligence based, green = Dexterity based. . The odds of rolling particular colors on an item are determined by the stat requirements of the base item. So if the piece of gear requires Dexterity and Strength to equip, then it will be more likely to roll green or red, with blue being the "off color". So having say 3 blue Sockets on a Strength/Dex item would be very difficult to do. However, there are ways to make this easier. There are crafting recipes you can unlock from specific places that will let you use a proportional amount of Chromatic Orbs at the Crafting Bench to force an item to have particular colors, which can be used to easily get off colors on an item. Socket Links: Two handed weapons and chest armor can roll up to 6 sockets, with the odds of higher numbers of links being subsequently more rare, with 6 being exceptionally so. BUT, you can tip the odds in your favor to get higher amounts of links, which is drastically important for your character's overall damage. The number of links on an item is influenced by it's Quality. If you increase the Quality of an item as high as you can, you have a better chance of getting a higher amount of links on your item. Most item types can have their Quality increased, such as Armor, Weapons, Flasks, and Gems with an accompanying Crafting Currency with Armourer's Scraps, Blacksmith's Whetstones, Glassblower's Baubles, and Gemcutter's Prisms respectfully. Normally Quality on items goes from 0 - 20%, which will increase the base Armor Rating, Damage, etc before modifiers (Prefixes/Suffixes) on the item increase them further. There are ways to go beyond 20% as well, usually through old League mechanics such as Immortal Syndicate - but that's not too important yet. So find a decent Body Armor base that you wish to use of Normal Quality (white item), then use Armourer's Scraps on it until it hit's 20% Quality - Normal items take less to get to 20% than Magic or Rare items! Then you can either use a Wailing Essence to guarantee certain Affixes (easiest method with least headache) or look into other means of crafting, like Alchemy Orbs (makes Normal items Rare with random Affixes), and Chaos Orbs to get your desired Affixes. If you don't like how it is, you can use an Orb of Scouring to make it a Normal item again, which you can buy from vendors in town! Once you have an item with 20% Quality (or higher preferably) and the stats you desire, then you can pool your resources into hitting 6 sockets with Jeweler's Orbs. Finally, you must pray to RNGesus that you hit 6 links on your crafted piece. It will be much easier very high levels of Quality, but it will still be difficult if you aren't lucky. It is a lot of effort at times, but it is worth it. Just keep in mind that you want to vendor as many 6 Socketed items as you can since they exchange for Jeweler's Orbs (changes # of Sockets) when you sell them, and vendors will also sell Orbs of Fusing (changes Socket Links) in exchange for Jeweler's Orbs! This game is very much centered around going into things with a plan, so slow down and read what League Mechanic NPCS have to say as their rewards can be huge at times such as the case with Alva (Indiana Jones), check out the Help guide more often and as a pro gamer tip: Hold the Shift Key when hovering over pretty much everything interactable in the game, and it will give you extra tooltip information which may help give context as to how some things work - it's a life saver.

Your bow at 19:45 is not 6 linked, it is 6 socketed. You can use fusings to try and get more links on it, but your chances improve with weapon quality. You can also use your crafting bench in your hideout, to guarantee the number of links you want. It costs 1500 fusings to benchcraft a 6Link, which is slightly higher than the 1200 average for a 20% quality weapon. But skills get more expensive the more gems that support them, so rushing a 6L isnt always the best idea. You should be able to tackle the campaign on a 4/5L.

oh i thought someone would have explained it to you after the act 8 video - when you did lab the second time, you did the wrong one (the same one). if you go to aspirants plaza, where you enter lab, it has a list of 4 labs. normal, cruel, merciless, eternal. you completed normal lab in act 3, now you need to do cruel lab. merciless lab will be at the end of act 10, and eternal lab will be after the campaign at some point. lab itself is fundamentally the same, the zone level goes higher in each one, and izaro becomes harder to kill each time. and in lab if you die, you start from scratch so that's part of the challenge. each lab gives 2 ascedancy points, for a total of 8 from 4 labs. they are a significant power boost every time. also, its not 6 links, its 6 sockets xD. but they are good to sell, even if not useful, because they sell to the vendor for 7 jeweler orbs. i think your damage suffers a little because the skills might not have optimal support gems. but also, it's usually better to have 1 main skill with 3 support gems (4 link) than 2 skills that share 2 support gems (two 3 links)
