It's worth pointing out that the developer of Legend of Grimrock was on their forum on day and saw a gamer asking about adding arrow keys for navigation, as he was disabled and used a mouth stick to type. They could play otherwise, but it was easier that way. The dev said it wasn't on the list of things to work on. And hour later, they left another message saying it was added to the game. They said after thinking for a couple minutes, they realized it would be pretty easy, so they just went ahead and did it. That's what decent devs do. They make the game as good as they can for their players.

Problem is Blizzard is one of those developers who drags their heels on things purely because the poorly paid devs at the studio are terrified of being made redundant for making mistakes and being blamed for them, so cost-to-risk and fear of breaking something by adding something is so high that they take weeks just to approve a single change to something. Meanwhile they employ diversity hire interns who barely passed their corporate brainwashing video game school majors. The leads act like they have zero desire to be on camera when forced to make progress videos to show the customer base and the interns have no idea what they're talking about when they do a let's play and get asked questions on subjects they're not experts in by customers because the higher ups thought it would be a grand idea to make the let's play a Q&A on Twitch, making said interns look like idiots when they're not, they're just new. The whole sham is a mess.

Another scummy excuse for the use of premium currency I discovered a while ago from a World of Warships criticism was that the currency provides a buffer to deny access for a refund. Predatory publishers would argue that you cannot file for a refund of an item you paid with premium currency because of how it was way below your expectation because what you paid for with real money was the premium currency and not the thing you bought with it, and the currency works as intended. Add the obfuscation of real-world price is just dirty and very anti-consumer.

The entire point of battle passes is to keep your players numbers high. You give them their money back because you get to say there were 2 million people playing at once, and it gets them to stick around and keep your whales happy with chum to fight. It also keeps the queues nice and full so your players get into the game faster and it looks better on stream. It's the main reason overwatch was so popular. Gonna be honest with ya, I don't feel the same about him. I noticed when he is actually talking durning video's and I caught him several times filling in things beforehand and yet acting like he saw the video for the first time. Sometimes I do think he does this to boost his own ego in the sake of "See! told you guys!!! " its like taking credit away from others that actually thought and said things before he even said it.

One of the most important takeaways from this is that most of the companies you used to care about because of their creative endeavors indeed are being run almost exclusively by marketing people. People who don't care about the product, but only about the brand, and who see no direct connection between the two. People who are exclusively interested in what they can convince you to buy, not what they're selling. You should expect everything they say to be untrue.

I didn't follow all the drama surrounding Blizzard and when my bro asked me why I bought the game he asked in a way that made it sound like I made a mistake which I didn't understand but after a while I felt like the game was dragging really bad. After watching Actman's video, it all made sense. Now whenever I logged it's like I can see how the made things intentionally inconvenient in EVERYTHING!😅

The moment we hit the day companies blamed their own customers for not liking their games, I knew it was gonna be a bad time. Imagine doing what you *think* your customer wants you to do, rather than doing what they said they wanted you to do. And then when they get frustrated, you act all "I don't understand why you're upset."

It didn't get worse, it just has never gotten better. Rebalancing classes over and over and increasing monster density does nothing for a game that nobody wants to play since there is no actual content in the game to play for. The loot and gearing is terrible, your character power is meaningless the entire time until perhaps Lv100 against Lilith, the open world is pointless and re-running endless chaos dungeons only works if you are actively doing so for a purpose behind garbage collecting back to town. D4 has failed on every single aspect that makes an ARPG compelling and also failed on every single aspect that makes an MMO compelling, while trying to marry the two.

It's weird to hear people say Baldur's Gate wasn't a major franchise. It's the game that put Bioware and Black Isle on the map. It's just been a *really* long time since those games came out, that people now look upon them as cult classics. But for their time, they were some of the best PC RPGs.

Every time I play WC3 the Arthas culling Strathome, I always feel like if Blizzard wanted that to be an evil event, they shouldn't have turned the villagers into zombies before they died. Arthas never killed an innocent citizen in that culling if you don't attack the villagers before they turn into zombies. I forget if you could even attack the villagers before they turn.

It wasn't supposed to be just evil, more of a lesser of two evils that he felt he had to make. You can attack them and honestly just standing by and watching the villagers die to kill them again is almost as messed up.
@spikertaker Жыл бұрын
The problem with the Culling is that they didn't show us all that happened, only retroactively told us - Arthas purged EVERYONE, not just the infected (think about Last of Us, not everyone got infected right off the bat, the cases have similarities), and torched the buildings, which turned into cursed flames which never extinguished, forever damning the city. While it's horrible, it probably was still the best thing he could do due to the circumstances, Uther was wrong - but understandble too, the last thing a good leader wants to do is bomb their own people, and it's not like Arthas was in his right mind to explain anything to him in a coherent manner (which is also why he was able to make that decision on the spot).

One stupid thing in game currencies that exists in general is that you see 100 bucks gets you 8000+1860 currencies instead of 9860 even tho its never below that. They wanna make you feel like your getting extra on top of your 8000 when in reality its always 9860.

Blizzard slowly destroys the Diablo legacy with an unfinished game and with no foundation. They had the time and resources to create something godly! D4's return to darkness theme paired with D2's extraordinary itemization system and addictive grind circle would have achieved what most players were dreaming of.

i didn't really play D2 but i want to ask. What's the difference between Running 50 baal runs per day compared to 50 nightmare dungeons per day. What's the REAL difference that breaks the deal here? is it the rewards? the gameplay? What is it exactly that made Running baal runs for years good, but running nightmare dungeons not good. You can also add Rifts in the mix as well. From what i hear, Diablo was always about.. doing the same thing over and over.

@@akhsdenlew1861well for one you could easily join other ppl by just finding the lobby you want and joining...i can't even matchmake or group find in d4.. crazy. And my skill upgrades were already feeling lame and i wasn't even 50 yet. I always have a blast on a d2 campaign playthrough. That doesnt answer your question exactly i know. I do agree with you on the point you're making. I was bored doing the same shit in the other two. That's why I usually quit before. I do know the bell runs were nice, quick n easy. @29:43 😂😂😂😂🤘 Me and my brother used to do this in Diablo 1. We would create junk lvl 1 bags characters, then save all sorts of upgrade spell tomes and potions on them, do character saves every few levels, then reload the game with the bots. Syphon off all the tomes and potions with the main, character save the main, but not the bots, then reboot. It took a while, but there was something so satisfying about maxing out stats on a lvl 5 character, then beating the Butcher and Leoric in like 2 hits.

I have NO idea of coding so please correct me or explain to me why i'm wrong in my following statement. Wouldn't the "Gem Tab" in the storage be really easy to implement? Couldn't you pretty much copy-paste the lines of code that the other tabs have and tweak some lines so the tab says "Gems" and on the right position? Addendum: Same for the inventory?
@razercool42 Жыл бұрын
Over a month late lol, but because they allowed (very) poor code to made it past the review process, it will take a refactor before they can even add the new feature. (I'm a software developer.) If their code base is of similar complexity to that at my job (theirs is probably much larger), and considering the nature of the issue (how pervasive it is or isn't)... I'd estimate the refactor would take about a month, assuming their management and QA dept arent in shambles ofc. Add another month to that realistically 🥴
@razercool42 Жыл бұрын
But yes adding another tab in the UI is pretty simple. However if they took the "lazy" way out and didn't create a structure such that the UI scripts actually have access to the item type information (whether or not it is a gem)... I think I need to get off the internet I might actually have a stroke

Another funny thing to add onto the timing of PoE's release around when D3 released + PoE2 vs D4, I remember what got me to hop onto the PoE train in the first place was how after the infamous Blizzcon that announced Diablo Immortal, PoE announced its next league called Betrayal which resonated with how Diablo fans felt and it only became funnier when you found out the name of the faction in the new league was the Immortal Syndicate. Purely coincidental but still I fuckin loved that league and it helped me get over the pain and pure disdain I had for Blizz shitting on Diablo fans.
