This seems like a semi useful weapon for a hurricane druid with some shapeshifting honestly. The negative enemy cold resistance would help hurricane damage and the cold damage dealt with melee attacks and the volcano can be synergized as well to be throwing out 3 types of damage (cold, fire and physical).

Had a eth 5 soc zerker axe that I made into an eternity the day 1.10 came out in good old LoD. Rolled like crap and sat in my inventory on a mule for prob a year. Decided I'd reroll it one day and pulled the runes out of it with a hel. Guess what? It was still eth and 5 soc, but had no durability! It was indestructible! Doom is what I made with it, and let me tell you, it was DEADLY on a zeal pally. When I finally moved on to d3 and WoW, I gave it to a buddy of mine. To my knowledge, he still has it, but I haven't talked to him in maybe 4-5 yrs. Hopefully it's still pwning mobs. lol

I use this on my merc while using a tesla paladin with conviction. The Draculs with life tap are amazing at keeping him alive while he dishes out some serious damage augmented by fortitude armor. I have a dream helmet on him as well. does very well on P8.

I have a Doom merc on my barb but I really like it on my pure summoner Druid with stormsheild after i summon my level 54 zoo and switch all my gear. Don’t even have to resummon unless you go to chaos or worldstone. That Doom Zerker SLAPS with only normal attack.

This is now essentially Best in Slot for a Cold Sorc , since Sunder Charms introduction ! Sunder breaks CI’s to 95, then Doom hacks off a further 40-60%. After that, as if you needed more, you can add in Facet effects, and / or the -17% from an Infinity ! That’s all against an actual originally Cold IMMUNE 😮. If non Immune, then they get completely annihilated by all your neg Cold Res effects ! Amazing.

I've been rocking a dual-Dream Enchantress with Snowclash and this, and putting spare points into Cold Mastery so I essentially have a 3rd element in a defensive role. The Snowclash gives you Blizzard to harass distant enemies, while Frozen Armor (1 pt), the free Glacial Spike and Doom's +3 freezes target each give you ways to freeze enemies solid while you zap and smack them. Safety comes in the form of a basic Energy Shield, Frozen Armor, Holy Freeze, as well as solid Confuse and Blizzard procs (get a *good* Snowclash!) which really help survivability in difficult packs. Snowclash gives the ranged armor (Chilling Armor) but this isn't nearly as useful for melee Enchantress as spending 1 point to freeze melee mooks solid. People often recommend Passion for melee sorc but I find it has little to offer besides Zeal, and the 25% IAS isn't enough to justify it for speed despite that IMO. If you wear Gore Riders you can make use of Doom's physical damage, and having Holy Freeze means you can get a Might or Blessed Aim merc to further aid your physical killing power. AND it does -40-60 to enemy Cold res! The CtC Volcano is a proper bonus with fire synergy, but its actual effect is dwarfed by your pulses. This build hits *hard* with max damage at 64K, and in P1 melee one-hits almost every mook, with most mobs dropping after about 3 AoE zaps! Having several maxed elements and some physical damage means basically nothing gets past you! If you truly can't get close enough to hit stuff or it's immune to Lightning and Fire, shake a little Blizzard on and kite the weaker enemies before moving in on the heavies. This is probably my favourite build in the game now!

The negative resistance on the weapon saves you 5-9 skill points. So all you need is just 1 hard point and you can boost it up with this weapon. With a good roll, 60 cold pierce, and just 1 hard point into cold mastery, you will get 90 cold pierce. This is a great weapon for cold sorceress.

Fire/cold enchantress is a build I think about when I see this weapon. Maybe some kind of fire werewolf/bear druid as well, if you synergise that Volcano proc?

Curious could this be used on a Act2 merc paired w/ a Necro Poison build? I'm wondering if the cold/freeze will interfere w/ the poison 2 sec tick dmg as demonstrated in your live stream "Poison Damage is Broken". Mainly wanting it for some added cc, not concerned about corpses for corpse explosion as I want to rely on poison as my primary. One other question for clarification; if a wep has a Lvl 12 Aura but it also has a +2 to all skills, does that raise the base aura skill lvl as well. So for example Doom has Lvl 12 + 2 All Skill = Lvl 14 Holy Freeze Aura? I'm also wondering if my Iron Golem running Beast w/ Lvl 9 Fanatism gets bumped to Lvl 10 when I buff w/ Battle Cmd via CTA. The Maxroll D2Planner doesn't seem to confirm this.

I always wanted to try a barb with dual Doom then stack as much cold damage on equipment as possible, like 2x raven and 4x faceted armor and faceted Nightwing's. It'd be ridiculously expensive compared to how relatively ineffective it would be, but it'd be fun nontheless. Also wouldn't be able to horc corpses, which is a bummer too. It is good on a druid though. Some people like it on fury druids already made in Threshers, if Hurricane becomes castable in wolf form, it might even become a competitive build. It can also be okay on a windy, but overall I decided to stick with HotO, mostly because I can stack more MF that way, but if you don't care about that, and got a nice caster ammy, Doom is a good choice. Obviously it's the premier weapon for a Holy Freeze zealot. I hope they do something about balancing damage types, so lightning is not so much superior, as I like frostadin builds.

been running this on my frost nova sorc, (have a 34 fathom in stash) pretty decent results seems a tiny bit slower against non immune enemies but against immunes between doom and infin it shreds. not sure if placebo or not but overall chaos and any place with cold immunes seems a lot faster

This weapon as an axe, Dream helm, Dragon shield on a vengeance Paladin. The synergies for vengeance are also synergies for the respective auras. It would be a like a Berserker Barb but keeping Armor.

Shout out from Texas love your videos . But I’m having a hard time finding a 4 socket shield I found a white one did the socket thing on act 5 and it gave me a 3 socket . Where should I look for one ?

You want to find a White Monarch Shield for a Non Paladin. Paladins can get a Four Socket shield rather easily.

For non-paladins it needs to be a white Monarch shield to get the 4 sockets. The Normal and Elite versions only go up to 3 sockets max.

I think this would be powerfull af with synergy firer storm do about 1.6k and volcano about 600 per bolder armagedon more then 2.5k this is with 20 in multen bulder, fissur, amrmagedon=67 point you can be creative with the rest 20 point in firer claw or fury

How would the holy freeze on this weapon effect a paladin using the Holy Freeze Aura himself?? Say it was in a berserker axe, and my paladin has a level 20 holy freeze aura. Would it increase his aura?

I would like to see a specific application for a mercenary. for example, a comparison with Plague for auradin (tesladin) looks very cute on paper. also a mercenary from Act 5 with a berserker axe looks interesting ! in short, more practice, less theory! thanks !

Now that cold mastery is just 5% effective against immunes this makes more sense than ever on a cold sorc. But what a waste that is. I have the runes to make one, but I won't. 6 facet sword for sorc is cheaper and likely better. Pisses me off that it's not indestructible or phasebladable. Paladins, barbs and druids would absolutely adore it, but that stupid durability of axes... Doom, Beast and Famine: wtf were they thinking.

Duration, it stacks as well. So freezes target is +1 and Freezes target +3 is 3 x the duration of 1 using them together gets you +4. There are quite a few items in the game with freezes target Mods, the Frostwind Cryptic sword is the highest. As it has a native freezes target effect and you can Cham it to make it longer.
