The issue is the matchmaking system is not flawed. It works exactly as Blizzard intends it to work. They have a patent on the matchmaking algorithm. In the patent paperwork, one has to state reasons why it should be given a patent. Blizzard stated that it is a "microtransaction driven algorithm", meaning it is done in a way to promote players buying orbs and such. This is why very few matches are competitive. They are typically one sided affairs. Some games the player will be on the winning side, and sometimes on the losing side. There will never be a fair or balanced matchmaking system because that does not help their revenue.

Yes not all players are objective focused. Some just KDA, some are there to "clock 3 dailies".
