I have a 2015 ram 1500 sport! And I'm not seeing to much on true mods and reviews! You did a great job on the installation video but nothing on the performance or fuel savings! Coz where I come from this is not a small mod it's a $1500 mod with the PCM and tuner plus tax and shipping! The Diablo canned 93 tune makes about 20-22hp/Tq to the wheels where the Hemifever custom tuning makes 30-35hp/Tq to the wheels. We usually drop about .5-.6 in the 1/4 mile from the custom tuning.

It's worth it with custom tune. If you stay with the normal diablosport tune you might be disappointed. I had a 14 reg cab shortbed 4x4 with 6spd and 3.55 axles. Diablosport 93 tune ran 0-60 in 6.4 and 0-100 in 17.36. Hemifever 93 was 0-60 in 5.9 and 14.3 for 0-100 and also ran up to 129mph easily and still had plenty of pedal left.

Fast & Fit Productions my 14 ram went from 0-60 in 6.4 and 0-100 in 17.36 with the 93 Diablo tune to 5.9 and 14.3 hemifever 93. It made it a monster from 5k to 6k rpms. And I had a 14 reg cab shortbed 4x4 6spd auto with 3.55 axles. So about the slowest reg cab shortbed you could get. I now have a 15 challenger R/T and will be getting a custom tune for it soon.

Yes and No. This particular T1000 model has been discontinued, but the new T2 or I3 tuners from Diablo will allow you to set the fan temps in the tuner.

You can always run a higher octane fuel than what the tune calls for, but you never want to run a lower octane fuel than what your tune calls for.

You cannot use a different PCM from a different truck. And the R/T trucks do not make any more power than the base model express, so that would not benefit you anyways. Your best option is to tune your current PCM.

No, because you have very little control over what you can change with the handheld itself. We use Hemifever Custom Tuning to get a real custom tune to pull more power, faster/firmer shifts, and better driveability than what you can do yourself with the handheld.

Francisco Garcia that's weird. After a reset it should let you tune it with any unlocked tuner. Btw if you're in a high theft area, just go with the intune or i2. Nothing in there for them to steal.

No issues at all. The guys who had filtration issues just didnt have it installed correctly or did not clean and oil the filter properly. If you dont install the airbox perfecty level, then it will flex when you close the hood down on top of it. That causes the filter to pop out of the groove and can allow dirt through.

Miguel Peppers I had one on my 14 ram and loved it. More power than a normal k&n type intake since it's ram air. I suggest putting your engine cover back on and let it rest on top. Otherwise you may put the intake too low and it doesn't seal correctly. I did get snow up in there from being kicked up from cars and stuff but NEVER had an issue at all. I had a k&n and switched to the vararam after about a year. Pretty decent difference at speed like passing or roll race. 0-60 didn't change but 0-100 was quicker from the 60-100 being quicker.

Moe's Performance that's precisely what mine did so I threw it away lol. Too finicky of a product for my liking. I haven't noticed any difference with a drop-in K&N filter as far as feel.

Kenny Rodger you won't notice much from a drop-in. On my 112hp ranger I had it was a nice difference but the more power you start with, the less you'll feel it. But you should have felt a difference with a vararam. A guy on facebook backed up another guts 18whp gain with no fan blowing into the grille. And it's a ram air filter so the more air blowing in, the better. It was a huge pain to get the filter to sit correctly but I never had issues with anything getting by it. Also you have to oil the filter. It doesn't come pre oiled. Maybe that was your issue?

Eddy Gómez I'm not affiliated with any brands. I have seen people get 20-25hp with diablosport and 25-35 with hemifever. I am in no way promoting hemifever because their first tune I got was bad but they corrected it and it was great. But it took my 14 ram from 6.4 0-60 and 17.36 0-100 with the 93 diablosport tune to 5.9 and 14.3 with the 93 hemifever tune. Biggest thing is set your truck to shift at 6000rpm. That small gap from the 5600 factory rpm to 6k is killer.

Got a Question as I do not understand. The first thing you did was change the PCM to the new (never installed?) Diablo PCM. Then you connected the tuner and save the old tune? 1) does the new Diablo PCM come with the "stock info" in it? Because if it does not, how can you save the info on the PCM no longer installed? I have not gone to their web site yet to get that answer, but hope it raised a question with others watching this. Or did I ask the question to early? Going back to finish watching the video. Also I have a 2016, 2WD,6 Spd. auto The 6spd. auto uses a different "tuner" So all of you out there watching BE AWARE! As a suggest to all people doing these types of videos. Do some testing of the vehicle before modification and after. That way everyone gets an idea what the results of the money spent actually are. Yes results will vary. But the same vehicle doing the same test on a day with similar conditions will at least give an idea. The tune for my truck (6spd. vs 8 spd.) is almost $200 more total about $800. If ya all do your own work that can buy a lot of stuff. If - for instance you increased a 1/4 mile time by 1 sec. Your money may/or may not be spent better elsewhere.

T T no smartass taken. The edge tuner is a no frills tuner. With our 4th Gen 15-18 rams any hand held programmer we will need to unlock our computer. The trinity will tune and so much more custom tuning, you can run the trinity tune and data log the behaviour of our trucks. Then you take that data send it to a reputable tuner such as jay green or hemifever. They will will tune your engine to the safest optimal tune including your transmission. Which is a total monster and so much fun. But before any of that to happen you need to swap out your PCM for an unlocked one or send it out to get unlocked.

Justin Reily that's correct except pcm. The pcm will adjust to an air intake so you're still driving a vehicle that ram calibrated. By changing tunes, you change what is adjusted and how things are adjusted. So it's no longer being run how ram set it up.

Kimberly Jimenez it will add horsepower and torque. I've seen dyno printouts loaded up on diablosport's site in the forums. Usually 25-35hp with hemifever and 20-25hp with the diablosport ones but the difference is how much more it adds throughout the powerband. They measure the peak numbers but 25hp through the entire rpm range is pretty big.

Custom tuning is the single best bang for buck mod you can buy for these trucks. The Hemifever tuning is giving us 30-35hp/tq to the rear wheels which is more than you would get from an intake, ported throttle body, and catback exhaust combined.

Unfortunately...several people have commented on KZbin that have an unlocked PCM and Diablo tuner about going back to the dealership with their stock PCM in and the dealer saying that the truck has "X" amount of months of missing drive data. Which means they can tell that you had a modified PCM and just had swapped your stock PCM back in before seeing them. So it seems that even if you put your original PCM back in before going to the dealership they have a way of finding out...

All 2015+ Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram vehicles require an unlocked PCM in order to tune them.

@@mattowens2830 No, you have to install the unlocked PCM first like we did in this video, and then you tune the unlocked PCM. You cannot load a tune on a factory locked PCM.

Yes you can. You have the option to disable traction control yourself with the handheld, or we can permanently disable it with the Hemifever custom tuning as well.

Valentin Cervantes from what I read or understand is the older trucks just need a tuner/flash of some sort. I’d check with the specific company and they should tell you.

Old post but I have a 2005 ram 1500 with 5.7. I used a superchip shortly after I bought it. I still have this truck 300k and still runs great. I used 93 tune and changed shift parameters cause I wanted to make sure the trans lasted.
