I was scared after I was at the unit as I almost had a cardiac arrest or stroke because my calcium level went critical as nurses focus assessing my vital signs yet I was already c/o having chest pain. Numbing and tingling in my extremities. It was scary experienced so glad I was able to advocate firmly for myself.and I have a medical background!

This video has been a great help to me, especially for my emotional health. I was diagnosed with "highly suspicious papillary carcinoma" in 2019 (1.2 cm solid nodule in my left lobe). I had a follow-up in August 2024, and the findings were the same: PTC (1.16 cm solid nodule in my left lobe, less than 1 cm on my isthmus, and two nodules less than 1 cm in my right lobe). For my second follow-up, my doctor decided to only conduct a fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) on the nodule in my left lobe (1.16 cm) because the other nodules detected during the ultrasound were too small. Based on the latest results, my doctor recommended a total thyroidectomy. I was hesitant for several reasons. I asked about alternatives like medication to shrink the nodule, but my doctor firmly stated that surgery is the only way to treat PTC. I've been depressed and stressed about my condition. There are so many things to lose, and I'm too young to start a lifetime of medication. This video gave me some comfort and a little calm. I've decided to ask my doctor to try active surveillance first. By the way, my lab tests like TSH, FT3, and FT4 are all normal. In 2019, I decided to get a checkup because the nodule was visible and I could feel it when I swallowed. After several months, I was surprised because the nodule disappeared, and I could no longer feel it when I swallowed. I decided to ignore my doctor's advice for surgery at that time, thinking that maybe I was healed. But in 2022, I was diagnosed with another health condition called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). I did some research and found studies suggesting that thyroid issues might play a role in PCOS. I underwent a week of medication, and my menstruation became normal. However, in May 2024, my irregularities continued, which prompted me to revisit my OB-GYN. They advised me to have a follow-up on my thyroid. I thought I had no symptoms, but I'm not sure if they were caused by PCOS or my thyroid. Symptoms like hair thinning and weight gain are common to both. But one thing for sure, the nodule that I could feel before only becomes evident (swallowing like there's something trapped in my throat) when I'm stressed or miss meals at the right time. Otherwise, I can't really detect it visually or physically. Thank you for this and God bless. Praying for good health for each and every one of us.

But I've had ups and downs with the size from shrinking to the point of non visible, to a little bump, to huge grotesque (6 months), to smaller non-visible, to small but visible. Likely had it around 2010-2011 b/c went to doc about waking up in middle night gasping for air, but they thought it might be sleep apnea and offered me a sleep test which I declined, they made me think it wasn't anything serious. Didn't actually become noticeable size until 2013.

So my question is once they've determined it's PTC should you still do active observation? The issue I'm faced with is that they found a second nodule (supposedly non cancerous as they said it's not solid, but this one wasn't there two years ago, but it's very small still, but on the other side). They are recommending surgery to remove the thyroid now since the other one (the existing one is about 1.7cm -- although I don't feel anything myself and no issues) but it did comeback supposedly as cancerous according to the pathology report? Part of me is worried that the other nodule could also become cancerous (although they did note that the existing nodule that's 1.7cm hasn't grown that much since they last checked about 2 years ago -- I just had another ultrasound a few days ago but what concerned them was calcification. Had the biopsy done and that's how they deemed it cancerous. So I'm wondering if they're advising surgery at this point on the assumption that the other one may become cancerous as well at some point and perhaps want to mitigate the chances of it spreading or other things like needing multiple surgeries in the future.

@MelodyJacksonPhD2 ай бұрын
I had a FNA.... When it was being done (5 needles), it was so bizarre because the woman doing it -- I guess she was a doctor -- was laughing about weird stuff. She was just very odd... and there was something that she was about to do wrong and laughed and made a joke about it as in on SNL.... For some reason (God!) I wasn't really freaked out about it all, I was just processing... but when she was like a clown, it made me start to be skeptical.... Then the doc told me I had cancer and recommended immediate surgery -- though after asking he said it would be fine if I waited a few weeks. But the vibe of him and the woman just did not seem right... I felt like I could not trust him.... Even when I asked the likelihood of it being cancer, he told me (68%) but I would think that should have been part of the original Reveal! But no.... So I then talked to my friend who is a D.O. who looks holisitcally at charts and needs.... He read all of my charts and images and said he really didn't think it was cancer... I went to another N.D. -- both licensed in CA -- and he also assessed all my charts and such and said he didn't think so... They also both said we could monitor and keep an eye on it and I could choose at any time to go ahead... but of course, once you do it, you have no choice.... Especially after the Covid event -- and I did not want and did not get the vax -- I thought... "What if I got my thyroid out then they would not give me medicine unless I took their Forced Clot Shot?" I would have ZERO choice but to do so... It is now 6 years later.... and I'm still thinking.... 🍿🤔 .... and observing. My latest ultrasound showed the "knot" as I prefer to call it to be the same size for a few years now... though it seems a bit bigger to me... but in reading the images, this whole new radiologist said based on what he saw he really does not think it's cancer... He thinks it has a 1% chance that it is based on what the scans show.... Intuitively and in prayer and all other opinions (than the original doc and crazy lady) say it just doesn't seem like it is.... I also don't want to be irresponsible with my health, so I continue to watch and get the ultrasounds.... Now I need to get back to a better diet too. I am appreciative of videos like this and especially THIS CHANNEL..... I have looked ALL OVER and you find very little information on how to heal thyroid cancer (if you do have it) naturally.... The natural cancer healing videos and courses and books typically don't include info on thyroid.... Because so many people get nodules and cysts and cancer too, this will probably continue to grow as a money machine for Big Doctor recommendation business.... and Big Pharma because then you have NO CHANCE to do without their drugs. I wish you all the best.... Pray for God's guidance to help you manage your fear and to guide you to what is right for you.... Meanwhile, I continue to ponder and learn lessons about life as I deal with the presence of the knot.
