My 2000 was easy to work on. But you had to have 4x4 because a 2 wheel drive Really Sucked in the Snow. It had terrible traction.
@KrazyKarlProjects2 жыл бұрын
The 4wd is needed badly for muddy inclines too. I am hoping to get a hub rebuild video up by this spring. It has chewed up the barings in the manual hubs already.
@mousecop55803 жыл бұрын
Were you able to fix the 4x4 System? I own a 2002 Kia Sportage and have gone through 4 sets of Manual locking hubs that have broken (2 sets of Warn hubs) and need help. Thank you!
@KrazyKarlProjects3 жыл бұрын
I haven't gotten the hubs I purchased on yet, because I had to order replacement screws, and they just showed up last week. I'm also working on getting the brakes working. I did read a review that stated how this 4x4 is set up, that you have to be very careful on hard surfaces cause you can pop the hubs or the differential on the hard surfaces.

I found a solution! That’s a good idea but now my Warns work but I’ll remember that for an emergency. Thank you, I’m still learning.

It has chewed up the barings in the manual hubs already. I'm going to try to rebuild the original hubs this winter. If that fails, I'm going to try and find replacement barings that fit properly so it doesn't eat them.

I have a 1997 my damn tires won’t come off got the lug nuts off but I have a black cap just like yours by the wheel bearing only it’s outside the tire do I just remove that or is it because of corrosion?
@KrazyKarlProjects3 жыл бұрын
It is most likely to be corrosion and hitting around the tire-wheel with a rubber or soft deadblow hammer should brake it loose. It could have had a center lock nut added for some reason though. If the nut extends over the center of the wheel it will need removed to get the wheel off.

@@mcbraxy3664 The drums have separate bolts that hold them on besides the lugs. The lugs are actually part of the drum. The rotors have lock screws in the front. We've got videos of the rotors being changed and they'll be a video of me working on one of the drums next week. They all took a lot of fighting to get them off, so I wish you luck.

I've got a 2000 and the thing never has run right and it finely got to where i could go up a hill {less then 45% grade) and you could could hold it to the flour and it wouldn't have enough RPM's to make auto trans. stop pulling? And you had to spin the hell out of it just to get it to even crank? WEAK!!!! finely it's got to where it just quits and will not crank back, towed it home 3 times and now it's been sitting for about 3yrs. because it's piussed me off!!! the ol'lady had some guy work on it she said he check the timing belt (GOOD) and put another fuel pump on it (i don't know if it was new or not) he finely pissed me off and put his ass on the road and here i am? My Q to you is what should i do first to troubleshot it? What I'm try'n to say is "I'm an ol'man with very little $ and needs some help! PLEASE? PS good video and help or not you got a new sub. , Thanks I might need to know about the 4 wheel drive if i can get it to run? PSS i had a friend of mine mess with it and when i left his house it ran like a top for about 3 miles and went right back the way it was? All i know is the more i drove it the weaker it got?

Thank you for watching and I'm glad you like the videos. If the fuel filter has not been replaced that would be the first thing I would do. If there’s a lot of junk built up in the filter, it can slowly choke off fuel feed while in use. Hills and bumps can make the problem worse. The next thing I would check is the wire connections to the fuel pump. Someone previously working on my Kia and messing up the connector may have been the main issue with mine rather than the fuel pump itself. If it is not the fuel filter and the connections are good, then the throttle position sensor is a cheap part that can give all kinds of issues when it goes bad. What happens is the signal to the fuel pump gets messed up and the engine doesn't get the right fuel feed for throttle position. It is a common fail part that leaves you chasing gremlins trying to figure out what is wrong. I got a Hyundai made one for my Kia off Amazon for under $30. The last thing would be the mass air flow sensor. If it isn't working right it will mess up the fuel to air ratio and can make the engine run badly and stall. @@KrazyKarlProjects I'm an old school mec. been turning wrenches preaty much all my life. My dad got us in the logging bizz when I was 9 and I done a 6yr hitch in the army to get away from BS and damed if they didn't make me a Gen. Mech. but did earn 2 Master Mec. badges but when I came home the company had grown to the 2nd largest in the south east but all i had to work on was diesel's and now gasers don't have cams or dist. or carbs. or even plug wires and this crap is hard for me to rap my head around? That said , the sock on the fuel pump and where would be the primare filter I'm sure he changed it but I'll check! But I think it's not getting enough fuel or air? Is they a way to check the fuel preasure and what should it be? And by the way THANKS FOR TAKE'N THE TIME TO HELP ME , IT MEANS ALOT TO ME!
@KrazyKarlProjects3 жыл бұрын
@@64dougee You’re welcome, I hope I can help, and I understand that change. I still struggle on cars from the last 20 years, because I don't have all the equipment and know-how for the modern car computer systems. The sock should have been new with the pump. Unless debris got into the tanks or the fuel varnished it, it should be fine. The fuel filter is beside the engine below the battery tray. It is a little hard to get too and I strongly recommend getting a fuel line tool to disconnect the lines as it was a real pain without one. While the line is disconnected you could get someone to turn the car to the on position or try to crank it and fuel should flow well out of the fuel line if everything is good with the pump. The more you describe the issues the more I think it may be the mass airflow sensor. You can get cheap ones, but as with any parts these days you may go through a couple before you get one that works correctly. I had to change it on mine, unfortunately I didn't get usable video of it. It is located between the airbox and the intake manifold close to the airbox as part of the air tube. It could also be the fuel pump relay going bad. It is in the fuse box next to the battery. A relay going bad can make cars do strange things. If it is the pump stopping randomly that would be the most likely reason for it.

Manual hubs are a good fix. I recommend getting better grease for the new hubs bearings then what is included with them. Mine are already chewed up form the included grease not holding up a year.
