So you narrowed it down to the transmission control module causing your short to ground. Unplug the culprit and the Jeep fires up. What’s the next step? Trying to solve my own Jeep problems without experience. Thanks!

Hey bud so I have a 95 Cherokee 4.0 with a crank no start issue. I’ve been having a very hard time getting her running, I’ve replaced all my sensors, ignition coil, cap and rotar and still nothing. Was just wondering if you could possibly give me some advice.

I’ve got the same exact problem as in the video but it’s not my trans module I had originally had skipping problems had a cracked coil fixed it then would skip on occasion figured it out had a broken wire in the harness to the coil I fixed that then while running in yard the tach started jumping it died and now I have the exact symptoms as the video any suggestions?

I've got a 99 Cherokee with a no spark issue. I've tested the coil and believe it is within spec. However I need figure out the power and ref signal wiring. I don't think its getting its 12v source. Any ideas what it might be? I recent attempted a 160 amp alternator upgrade and in the back of my mind. I'm thinking I have shorted out the PCM for some reason.

Currently having a problem with mine, the ignition switch was going bad so I got a new one, replaced it and installed it, everything on dash works perfectly fine but won’t turn over or start, I charged the battery and everything, still won’t turn over

I’m having a similar issue with a crank no start on my 95 Cherokee xj. Except I’m not blowing any fuses… other day my girlfriend killed my battery by leaving my lights on, I went to jumpstart the jeep with her Highlander and the jumper cables got hooked up backwards on her Highlander‘s battery. When I noticed they were backwards I reverse them and try to fire up the jeep and it just turns over crank no start. I blew the two 60 amp ALT fuse one and ALT fuse 2, I replaced both 60amps and I replace the fuel pump relay, ASD relay and starter relay, and it still is not starting. It seems I’m not getting any fuel pump turning on and no spark no check engine light on the dash what could be my problem?

I have the same problem going on my jeep 97 xj yesterday it didn’t want to turn on I pulled every fuse and checked it they were all good last fuse I pulled was the starter fuse when I put back on it made a clicking noise I turned over the key started right up. Today same thing happened but this time even doing the fuse thing didn’t work it’s somehow causing no spark and making the fuel pump not work even tho it’s not working I tried putting some carb cleaner to start it but it still doesn’t start. I’m not sure if this is normal but the big 40 amp fuses when putting the fuse tester on them it doesn’t light up and due to that problem when putting the key in accessories my gas gauge doesn’t go up but when it ran it would always go up I have no clue wat it could be

Update Jan 11 today I took apart the fuse box opened it in half and I found my starter fuse wire in box was loose I connected it back heard a click sound put everything back on turned the key the gas gauge immediately started marking the gas and I turned it on and started right up

I'm not a jeep guy, but I end up w.alot of them.i use them as plow vehicle in newhampshire. I don't recommend these vehicles. Some days they just don't start up. Of course these vehicles are not new, but the bottom line for these is they need need need. Sensors,wiring issues,too bad cause when running they are nice

I might not have bought my 2000 XJ if I had known how shitty the wiring gets on these vehicles. Worst I've ever owned, and that includes around 17 vehicles so far.

@@SEsGarage It set the trend and had that bulletproof 4.0. I wish I had a top-of-the-line blue XJ Wagoneer with those sweet woodgrain stickers on the sides, but get by with a 2000 Cherokee Sport for now. PowerNation went nuts on my dream Wagoneer and swapped in a supercharged LS and turned it from 4 to 2 wheel drive.
