Har, in DK, back in the eighties when i rode these (Not the maxi, that's a girls bike ;-), i remember us grinding down the heads, they had a full centimeter of rim on it to lower compression! On top of that the piston shown here was know as the "race piston" because the regular one had the compression rings lowered something like ½ - 1 cm below this one. Here in Denmark all mopeds (still) are restricted to 1 (one!) horsepower and 30 KM/H :-D (thanks MoooooM! ;-) )

Oof. That would be a slow ride!

Old video, hope you’re still around to see this. When using a gauge to check compression, how specific is the sizing? I wanna get one but I don’t wanna make several trips finding the right size lol thanks!
@Corn-ped Жыл бұрын
It's real specific. See what size spark plug you use and get one for that size. My mopeds use a 14mm spark plug.

Yeah man! Remember to hold the throttle open when you check the compression

My spark disappears after a few kicks in the kickstarter and it just won’t start what do I do
@Corn-ped3 ай бұрын
It disapears? I would try a new spark plug first. Check all your grounds. If a new spark plug doesnt work, and your grounds are good. Then I would test the coil.

Do you think the ring was defective to break like that or is this normal? Good video, thanks
@Corn-ped3 жыл бұрын
I think it was just defective. It didnt have any damage, it had a clean snap. . .

What would of been your next step if the ring wasn’t the issue?

Good video, what did you use for a compression tester and whats the margin for error? Harbor freight c tester is usually like 40psi off of actual
@Corn-ped3 жыл бұрын
I used a handy hand held one. I don't know what the tolerance is but is fairly accurate. I would use a screw in one with the throttle all the way open if I wanted to know the exact comp. This was more to illustrate that it had no compression.
