Hi Alex, I have a 2007 charger 3.5, car was running and it shut off. Towed it home and put my OBD2 and I got P0340 and suggested to replace cam and crank sensor and possibly the VVT sensor! I replace a couple of fuses and noticed I didn’t get any spark at the plugs while cranking?

Good detailed video man I got a dodge Magnum doing the exact same thing I checked fuel pump it's clicking ,I did the spark plug test no fire ,not too long ago I changed the fuel pump when it did the same thing and it ended up being the ecm I fixed that and it was fine now it's turning with no fire

What about when you turn it over? It does a continuous turnover when you turn the key and won’t stop just turning over until you shut the key off. Like it’s stuck on turning over.

So I have 2009 Charger with the 2.7L. It died yesterday while driving. It will not start back up but cranks good. I tested the battery and battery was weak after charging back up so I replaced my battery. I’ve checked all ground straps and they are good. I have spark, air and power but seems like its not getting fuel. I’m getting 12.62V at the connector on the fuel pump when the key is turned on and I can hear the pump but still a no start. All fuses and relays are good. Serpentine belt spins just fine while cranking. I’m thinking the fuel pump is either weak or bad. What are your thoughts?

It was the timing chain tensioner that was broken in half. The worst mistake was following this guy’s videos on changing time chains. Did everything to the every detail following his instructions, but at the end it wasn’t working. So I ended up junking the car unfortunately. Bought a brand new Tacoma truck instead.

Check the fuel pump, fuse for the fuel pump if its getting enough electric power from the fuse box, and check if there is enough fuel in it . Listen if the fuel pump is working it make a waning sound. I knew it was the fuel pump from start

If it start good when is cold I guess the battery is good but when it's get a little hot it won't start again it has to be some sensor that it's overhearing you need a diagnostic to check for a code

What engine do you have. To start off good battery and a scanner if any thing is chewed up the scanner will point you in the right direction for example code display #2 injector Circuit low, means there is a damage wire

That code indicates a week or dead battery make sure you have 100% charged battery and try again if it still doesn’t start you may have another issue. Follow my steps in diagnosing the problem and you will be good

@@BC_nopowder you can only test the alternator once the vehicle is running but if you think it’s the alternator you can always remove it and take it to AutoZone and they will test it for free. An alternator will never cause a vehicle to not start you literally can remove an alternator and the vehicle will start and run until the battery goes dead, let me rephrase that a little bit a normal functioning alternator that spins freely a locked up alternator may cause the engine not to turn over

Mine sounds like this one. Ive replaced both fuel pumps, clockspring, steering angle sensor, all 4 speed sensors, crank shaft sensor, cam shaft sensor, throttle position sensor, and mass airflow sensor. Changed all the sparkplugs. Fuel pump turns on. Battery, alternator, and starter are all good. I have spark. What am i missing?

i have 2010 dodge charger...i was driving when it would give any gas then slowly died off ...i restarted it and it started back up but immediately died seconds later. battery was checked and is good alternator is fine as well. i do not hear a whining noise...makes the same sound as i hear in this video. any suggestions?

You may have a bad fuel pump do you have the ability to run a diagnostic on it yourself and tools

I’m having this exact same issue, I ran it out of gas, put gas back in it (9 gallons) fuel pump is coming on because I hear it when I turn the key, acts like it wants to start but will not. I need HELP!

Ran the codes and a camshaft sensor popped up along with the fuel pump codes listed. I’m at my wits end.

I have not, I’m selling the POS, changed the sensors. Fuel pump kicks on., got spark, jus won’t start. Makes no sense.

Jus the camshaft sensors, and fuel pump (gas hand don’t work), but pump is still functioning. I changed the sensors, cleared the codes and it acts like it wants to start but jus doesn’t.

Spray some fuel into the throttle body, quick fuel check or check fuel pressure at the fuel rail 💯

Hey there Alex... I have a 07 that won't start that had some rattle at beginning of start last handful of times when it did run. I'm assuming it's the timing jumped... is there any way of checking the timing marks WITHOUT removing valve covers and front cover ?!?! I tried looking for TDC on crank down at the bottom and didn't see any way. Thank you in advance...👍👍👍👍

Hey there buddy, you can perform a compression check on the engine that would give you a general idea. Also, you can look me up on Instagram and send me a video of it turning over/you trying to crank it and I can hear if it’s out of time or not.

That’s how my 2008 dodge sounds we have to jump start it every time and yesterday it died completely and I installed a full charged up battery and still no start this sounds like it could be the problem

No I don’t, I have seen many mechanics set the engine bay on fire and also burn themselves using starter for it to start cars.what normally happens when things go sideways the car will back fire through the intake.

I probably should have filmed it running after I replace the fuel pump i’m going to start doing that with my diagnostic videos. The test that I performed that day all pointed to the fuel pump needed to be replaced

I wish I could bring my car to you. 2014 charger always started fine with no hesitation....yet $8550 and 2 days later pulling out of dealership and wont turn over, only turns the computers on.

@@AlexTheCarDoctor they did a bunch of random 100k miles tune up work, solenoids and wire harness under the intake manifold, driver door window switch, tie rod bushings and more. I went to go smog the car because it’s registration is expired and they cleared the codes. So that upset me, now I have to drive the car a week to get those codes but the damn car won’t start lol. I checked the fuses. Battery is fine
