I’m getting the same noise on my engine. I’m glad I found this video since I didn’t want to rebuild the engine because of a diagnosed “rod knock”. Too bad there isn’t many videos of problems/fixes for these engines

You are amazing Mechanic.. Very honest and to the point to fix it. I need you as my Mechanic... My Ats is having the same issue and my own Mechanic I have used for years says that it is the Fuel Pump, gas tank and possibly transmission. Wowww. And he is my uncle. Can you pls fix my ATS. Please.

Thanks for the great information. I have a '14 Buick Regal w/ 2.0 liter turbo throwing those same codes. I'm going to save myself cash and swap out .

Did that resolve your issue? How reliable has the regal been? I'm looking into getting one. Is it true you need to put premium gas in that thing or does 87 work fine

@@nathanbaldwin5782 , yes I replaced both intake and exhaust cam shaft sensors and problem was fixed. Gas > yes this turbo engine needs better fuel. I only used 92, 93 octane when I first bought car 6 yrs ago, but it does run fine using 89 octane. Do not use 87 , engine will run crappie. Sluggish and ping occasionally

I had the exact same issue, and changing the intake valve & getting an oil changed fixed everything. cost me $175

What do you do if every time you get an oil change after a certain amount of miles - it comes back on? I’ve owned my car For four years and every 275 miles about this appears. When I reset the light at a mechanics it goes away and doesn’t return UNTIL I get my oil changed again. I’ve replaced the valve twice already. Oils at the line.

My 2014 ATS has a code P0111 and it say height engine temperature ac turned off?

Both of those are covered by a special Cadillac extended warrenty for 10 year or 120,000 miles. Should have sent the owner to a Cadillac dealer. And, they operate in conjunction with oil pressure, not the fuel, as oil pressure goes up, they advance the timing. And, you are suppose to load them up with fresh oil before installing.

Yes it’s a good idea to load them up with fresh oil prior to installation. Just like if you change your oil yourself. Fill the oil filter with new oil prior to installation.

Formulaic One mostly, they do not need to be replaced, but just cleaned with brake cleaner, and 12v applied to actuate the solenoid. I just did both of mine, and the problem went away. It cost me $0.00 by using solvents and tools, and wire i already had around my garage

Take it out and clean it. It just happens on many models of cars with this part. It is the Achilles heel

Can you help? 2014 ATS 2.0T Sometimes after accelerating to 80 and letting off, I get a P0300. Car always runs good. CEL stops flashing immediately. Only time I get a flashing CEL. What do you suppose? Tony

A flashing cel is a misfire. Try putting some Techron in the tank, and after the tank of Techron, follow up with 6 oz of marvel mystery oil in a full premium tank . Hopefully, this solves it. Mileage? You may need new plugs or a direct injection cleaning. A misfire can also be caused by a clogged cat. Also, remove aftermarket, and check that your air filter is clean. Always change your oil at 20% and use dexos 2 generation 2 oil.

Very good information but that is not the 2.0 turbo engine. Nevertheless, everything in this video applies to them as well. Same cam solenoid setup. Good video on diagnosing 👍
