Brings back a lot of memories… Except the diagnostics has gotten a whole lot easier than it was when I was working on this stuff back in the late 80s through the mid 90s. Lol

Back when I was a young pup working in a little garage I took in a job to replace an alternator on an old Mercedes. Had to pull the front wheel off and take 1/2 the passenger side suspension loose to get it out. A real headache for a young mechanic with almost zero experience.

I've noticed quite a few Tahoe and Suburbans with for sale signs in them lately. Saw the same thing back in 2008 when gas went over $4 around here.

Nice work my friend... Not mad at seeing some late model content here. I may have some of my own coming up in the near future as well. Wish I didn't. Problems, they never end. (shaking my head)...

Mine had the same problem but I had the alternator replaced. The only thing is now the battery light still comes on and it's still charging so I'm thinking it's got something to do with the feedback circuit back to the computer. Please advise. Thanks

I've got 2010 chrysler town and country 3.8l and it had codes for crankshaft and camshafts sensors and it would go into limp mode and run bad, i replaced both sensors and it went back into limp mode, i only get codes for camshaft now, cleared codes drove it for a hour with no issues and then i got another camshaft code but it didn't go into limp mode... any tips?

Nice job. My 2010 Challenger RT 5.7 6 speed 84800 miles has developed a squealing sound under the drivers side valve cover over number 5 cylinder when the engine is revved and at idle it has a ticking coming from the same place. I’m thinking bad lifter seeing how that’s a common problem it’s just the squealing that has me baffled. What do you think?
@TheDodgeWhisperer2 жыл бұрын
yessir it is likely a lifter issue. I would highly recommend investigating before big time failure.
@jimmyford2712 жыл бұрын
@@TheDodgeWhisperer yeah as soon as the squealing started I parked it. I thought at first it was the belt and idler pulleys see that they’re the factory parts so I took the belt off and ran it. Squealing was still there and that’s when I could the tapping at idle. I’ve had a new comps cam for it setting on the shelf and a new set of lifter that I was going to put in a 2014 block I have to build a spicier engine but just never got around to it lol.

@@TheDodgeWhisperer I have a 1969 Dodge Dart 4 door. I’m trying to replace the starter but its really shitty to get to. Any advice?
@TheDodgeWhisperer2 жыл бұрын
@@10string06 disconnect the starter wiring on the solenoid under the hood and leave it connected to the starter. remove starter and replace it with a starter from a early 90's dakota or ram truck.
