How To Program Homelink Mirror / Calibrate Compass / Clear Old Codes

I recently bought a Home Link mirror on Ebay to replace a non-home Link mirror on my 2010 Subaru Legacy. Everything seems to work, except the home link. After watching this video, I realized I had not cleared whatever programming was in the mirror I bought. After clearing the programming and pairing the mirror with the opener, it worked!!! Yahoo!!!

Thanks for the homelink videos as it helped me out tremendously. Ive now successfully installed a homelink rear view mirror i got from a nissan maxima in the junkyard, in my 06 corolla sports. I hookedup it up to the ignition wire behind the radio. Keep up the great work sir! God bless!

Thank you. So, I'm confused about the step where you pressed the button on the opener, then within 30 seconds, programmed the homelink. Is this necessary? Or is it just an alternative to using the handheld transmitter?

I can’t get the garage remote to program into the home link mirror. I hold the remote and number 1 button on mirror but the red light stays slow blinking. Does not go to fast blinking so I think it’s not programming. I tried the next step in your video with learn button but that doesn’t work because of this previous step didn’t work. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, I have altima 2015 American, imported to DUBAI, UAE. It is full option and have the same center mirror as show in the video but this mirror doesn't have the dark patch on the right upper corner where compass is showing? Is there any way to make that dark patch appear???

The compass is a feature you have to get. If you're mirror doesn't have it, then it does not have the compass feature.

I have the new frameless mirror from toyota that has homelink and auto dimm and compass....tried to wire it and compass is not working...neither is auto dimm working....just the homelink buttons light up when pressed...how to turn the compass On ?...the new design frameless mirror does not have a separate button for compass ...only 4 buttons for homelink and 1 button for power on and off...

The auto dimming mirror hasa power button. Press it to turn it off.

You will need a multimeter to find the wires for : ground / +12V constant / +12V ignition. It's very difficult to do a video for your car and all cars are so different with their wiring. If you are not sure how to go about doing this, you can check with your local car audio install shops and ask them to install it for you (assuming you buy the proper fitting mirror).

I don’t know why but it’s not working for me :/ I have a 2007 Hyundai Azera and it the homelink mirror looks just like yours. I’ve reset it, clicked the learn button and it just keeps blinking red when I hold down. I’ve tried holding for two seconds and letting go and even holding down until it might blink like it did in the video. I’ve reset the lift master and nothing works :/. Any ideas?

Check the fuse that provide power to the mirror. The fuse might be blown.

You forgot to tell people to turn the key on ignition first!! It doesn't work with the key off. The mirror will still flash rad, so it appears to work, but the green light will not come on unless your key is in ignition and turned on
