Thanks for the great Video Kyle! We knew you'd find some unexpected ways to use it. Great to get another perspective. For people watching, we just wanted to provide a couple quick updates: - We are now offering each component individually which like Kyle mentioned opens a lot of doors for custom setups. - We also have a 2x3" Sidewinder option available now. - The pulleys are made from 304 stainless steel.

Love how you utilized the lever arm with the pulley system. Lever arms alone does not give you a true start to end range of motion resistance! I totally agree that this system is expensive and we do need it for a 2x2 rack!

Thanks Kyle for this insightful review and really liked the idea of flipping the lat pull down as a belt squat tool! Also sorry for all the questions, but thankful for answering them! I specially am excited about this as space was the ultimate challenge and limitation for a home gym. When I committed to a Omni half rack setup I knew I couldn’t add a cable tower or lat pulldown because of the space, this is definitely will be a useful tool for my space.

When you consider how much room a lat pulldown rack attachment from bells rep or titan takes up and the fact that they are close to 500-600 i dont think the price is reqlly that crazy. I am planning to get this as a space saver and will probably end up setting it up similar to how you have it. Also wth is that a freestanding upright or you have it connected to the wall??? 😂😂

Haha, I have the uprights connected to the rafters up top. It’s pretty secure.

Good review and interesting product if money was not object and I had a different rack. But considering the cost, I cannot see why I would buy this instead of the BOS Plate Loaded Cable Tower. I can't see paying the same amount (if the BOS is upgraded with aluminum pulleys). I also have the BOS consumer rack (2.3") so it wouldn't fit.
@johnfalco41695 ай бұрын
This! I'm better off buying a Titan Cable machine. It's kind of sad though because these were DIY projects turned to steal. You think they make them as affordable as they can.
@KaizenDIYGym5 ай бұрын
They are as affordable as they can be. Quality components are cheap, and cheap components aren't high quality. Dialed Motion tries to strike the right balance but it's not affordable for everyone.

I love my BOS cable tower. Both systems have their pros and cons.
@dare.greatly5 ай бұрын
@toddcbrown if SPACE was the biggest challenge- you had a 4 upright rack and couldn’t add any other major pieces then this MIGHT then be worth it. It’s more ideal than the Beyond Power Voltra I.

Do you think this product is user friendly enough for the average person? It looks like there is kind of a learning curve. Would i be better off just getting a regular pulley system? I'm looking to set up a small gym at my work facility. We have a 26'x18.5' area to work with. I want to be as space efficient as possible while providing enough room and equipment for 2-3 people to work out at a time. Money isn't an issue
@dare.greatly5 ай бұрын
I’ve peppered Dialed Motion over the year with questions and this very much seems to be a solid item that would be friendly to any level of user
@KaizenDIYGym5 ай бұрын
If you're considering this as an alternative to a standalone lat pulldown and low row tower, I would say it is easier to set up and only mildly more complicated to use, but way more versatile.

Glad we agree on the price point being an issue. And it's not a "I don't wanna pay for it" thing.. but Bells Of Steal plate loaded cable tower is (CAD)$400... The sidewinder is $661.. Why would I pay $261 more for something that looks closer to those Amazon's pulleys than it does a proper functional trainer? Two sidewinders would cost $1322.. Treadmill factory here in Canada sells the Fit505 Smith Machine/Rack/Functional Trainer combo for $1400... BOS sells a whole two side functional trainer for less than that. Respectfully, I don't get it. It's a product that would appeal to a budget tight "let me make it work" audience at a price point they can get a superior product for.

I assume the production costs must still be fairly high given its new?
@HughLeFitness5 ай бұрын
Totally agree. I'm also in Canada. Seems like a price gouge to me. I think their excuse is that it's US made and labour costs are $$.

Great video! If I already have a 4-post rack (Rogue RML-3), can you recommend a cost-effective option for a separate set of 2 uprights for a similar setup to your Omni uprights? Or would these work on just a pair of Omni uprights that I can purchase from REP separately?

great review; I'm looking to add functional trainer/lat pulldown capabilities to my Rogue ML 490 and I came across Dialed Motion amongst other equipment manufacturers. I have a rhino dropped into a 4 post 30" rack. will the back throlleys get in the way of rhino handles? also if I decide to keep the rear post as plate storage, could I add two more uprights in between the rack to add throlleys to them so I can keep using back uprights for plate storage??? OR are the cables design for a specific rack lenght like 24inck, 30inch etc....??? do you think that will be a good idea? I already have a selectorized separate FT and also a seperate selectorized lat pull down, however I would like to ether sell the FT or lat pull down to conbine it in rhino rack to make some space for a sledtred. I just dont know if I would like going from selectorized to loading plates:(

@KaizenDIYGymАй бұрын
If you’re planning on putting 45’s or bumpers on the weight horn, they need to clear the wall. That’s the only clearance issue you need to worry about.
@ckPinson-n4jАй бұрын
@@KaizenDIYGym thinking it'll be close but should work 8" extension and the stronger and the gap plus an inch of upright to the middle. half of a typical 45" is about 8.5", at least my bumpers are.

I see you did a speed pin and the actual hex bolt on the lat pulldown arm. Is it secure enough if you did two speed pins? I ordered the belt squat attachment, but now I’m considering not getting it if it’s easy to swap the pull down attachment with speed pins. Thanks!!
@KaizenDIYGym5 ай бұрын
I think there would be too much play with 2 magpins. I like 1 and 1 because I can tighten the bolt and the other pin just serves as support.

Hello Kyle, i'm from Holland and I have a question about your wooden prototype version. kzbin.infoU0yVM_3Mu68 I was hoping you would make a video about it, and I will tell you why. I build a wooden power rack which is standing outside. The commercial systems all are 'permanent' systems, and with rain etc. I can't leave it on after working out. That's why I'm looking for a system that is easily removed, like your wooden version. I don't think you will finish that project, although I hope you do, so hopefully you are willing to provide me enough information about so I can try to build two of them myself. Thanks and advanced and keep up creating your amazing content!
