I bet Jordy's bike had that new float x on it and that's why he had the shirt on it because they weren't ready to reveal it yet! Thanks for the great help to everyone involved I have been setting up a new factory 38 and float x2 and these videos have help a lot with the tuning!

Keep up the killer videos gents absolutely loving them and fine tuning my learning along the way. Love the videos. Top level practical technical advise. In trying circumstances they are excellent productions My question is why not leave Jordies camera on instead of cutting to a camera shot of a screen shot of Jordie. It is so much better for viewer's if we see Jordie up close instead of a secound hand shot? If you stay with Jordies camera we can see detail better also do not loose audio quality as with a shot of a screen. Keep up the great work.

Nice, although imho - a bit too basic... granted, bottomout resistance is the main purpose of spacers, but i think it would be nice to touch the other implications on suspension. - midstroke support - small bump compliance - rebound (can be really affected by chamber volume ratio) - spacers vs HS/LS compression Sorry for the criticism :)

Could you do a session where we see how to get the most pop while still have fork/shock feel plush, please. Been doing the „full circle thing“, lower pressure, add spacers etc. I know it depends on the bike as well. I am a fairly heavy rider and can’t seem to find the plush + pop sweet spot. Thanks and awesome sessions.

How is the overall setting of the fork influenced by adding or removing volumspacers. For Example you remove a token. Setup Sag again. Do you apply an changes to the previous rebound setting or does it stay the same as with 1 spacer?
@gateskater4 жыл бұрын
So if your sag and pressure is good but still bottoming out you add volume spacers instead of just making compression firmer?

what still isnt clear to me , after you add a spacer or token , do you put in te same pressure as before, witch will affect the sag (it did in my case anyway...) and ignore the change in sag, OR do you set the sag the same as it was before , and ignore the change in pressure that comes with it? (witch is in my rear shoch about 12 psi less) all i find about it is very confusing.

Hi. Jordi/Fox, do you want or need to grease any seals before putting the air can back on the X2, after adding or removing spacers? Thanks.
@Nowak134 жыл бұрын
Does "bottom out" really mean, that the O Ring is sitting right at the Crown after a hard Impact? I'm asking because my Fox 36 has 170mm of travel but if i messure from the dust wiper to the crown it is actually 180mm.

What if i forgot to properly pull the snap ring back or remove it completely and then slide the can / outer housing back and it jumps over the snap ring? Is that bad and an issue?

So if the volume spacers ramp up to prevent bottoming out. What effect do volume spacers have on rebound?

jordi cortes ok so it does not ramp up the initial rebound. Correct? Being that the rebound valve is not affected by the load of the spring?

So question, why not just make the air chamber smaller? Wouldn’t that accomplish the same thing as volume spacers?

That would make the shock not as versatile and adjustable for different riders.

Nice work @jordi cortes and the @fox team - great video series. Be interested to hear thoughts on Volume Spacer Vs (the likes of) MRP Ramp Control Cartridge & the Manitou IRT... Just another level of complexity 'most' don't need? I certainly like the flexibility of the IRT on my Mattoc's with the 3 quite different trail centres close (riding dist.) to home... But have never revisited the Volume Spacer I threw in the DPS shock #facepalm(?)

Love these videos... they are so good... I run Rockshox revelation forks don't bottom out so never thought I needed spacers but would they make my suspension feel more linier?
@patricklachance59524 жыл бұрын
Spacers would make the shock less linear, and more progressive (in general). Unless there are spacers in there already you could remove I don't think spacers are the answer. Probably either too high pressure (check your sag) or some of your compression settings are off? Idk I'm far from an expert

I often think that if you can tune the spring rate correctly it eliminates the need for compression damping completely. Why would you want to slow down or impede the wheels ability to move? Rebound is the only other concern.

lets say got 20% sag on fork, 1 token and bottoming. Bump up pressure, click in compression or drop in another token? BTW small quiz. Who said that: "I’m running 3 tokens @ 86 psi in the fork, and a 600 lb spring on the coil. Used to run more tokens but got a look of disappointment when I told Jordi how much I ran once so I run less now lol." hahaha

If your suspension feels great and the only problem is bottoming out = add volume spacers. If your suspension feels to soft in general = add air.

@schwuliantatutata78492 жыл бұрын
Maybe your fork is set up to progressive. If you think the fork is diving to deep in its travel (don't confuse with „to fast“) = add air. If then to much travel is left after hard impacts = remove volumespacers additionally.
