"Passivity is a sin. Passivity wears the mask of waiting on the Lord. But waiting on the Lord isn't synonymous with idleness. Esther waited on the Lord. She said, 'I'll fast. I'll go before the king. I'll make moves. I'll take risks-all while I depend upon the Lord.'" Amen. Thank you, pastor Jonny, for this. A beautiful reminder. Rebuking ourselves and turning away from our sins fix our hearts on Jesus Christ. Thank You, Lord, for this message. Indeed, passivity is a sin. We will serve You while we're waiting on You, Lord. Hosanna in the highest!

Agreed, the proverbs speak of the complacent one being destroyed by their complacency (in the specific context of responding to God's truth), and also the extreme of the sluggard, who's complacency of work turned into a mess that warns other people who see, to work diligently and not burden others with what you could have done yourself (and still can). At the end of proverbs it explains that he sluggard is entitled and wants other to give, and is never satisfied 🫢

This has been the most refreshing all while biblical coverage I have heard in a long while on this topic. I just found myself often 'amening' throughout to the truths covered - thanks for spending the time in the word and before the Lord, in order to bring this message to us.

How come after I have been following Gods will diligently, and immersing myself in scripture almost everyday, and even meditating I still have sinful desires sometimes even 1st thought in the morning that I should be in another life with a different family. Its so dishearting that my mind can still be that way after believing and following Christ. It rocks my faith so bad, that it starts a trickle effect of thoughts that compromise Gods character, and if he’s even real for me. I start thinking with logic that if God real, and wants us to forgive why would he send anyone to hell, and also makes me Question the crud out of my Salvation. I start to think of the logic in us having to “brain wash” ourselves all the time, and there is an excuse for everything. Your not praying enough, your not repentant enough, you didn’t read enough, your not thinking about God enough. What if that’s just who you are and you can’t help that? I’ve asked the HS to guide me everyday for the last 2 years, and the last 6 months I have been so lost. It’s like God gave me back over to my debased mind, and no matter how much I try to renew It, my old thoughts will come back through and always try to make me question everything. Please pray for me

I think that you might be experiencing very hard spiritual warfare. Satan attacks us when we draw close to God. Hold strong to the faith! It's all about relationship. God is not a task master. You will never be perfect. If you have made him Lord of your life, why should you worry? Prayer is good, reading the Bible is good but it doesn't save. Trying to be holy yourself, by your own works can be a hindrance to the holy Spirit. Christ and his sacrifice is the only thing that can justify us. Not anything else. The holy Spirit is required for the miracle that is his renewal of your heart and mind. Accept that you cannot change yourself and stop trying! Hand it over to him. Trust in the cross. Rest assured in his good news. To God be the glory.

God does forgive us! Everyone! But those who choose not to accept that forgiveness are the ones that go to hell, because they choose to be separated from God. Hell is the second death. Death is separation. Hell is full separation from him.

Also, sinful desires will be with us until we are in our glorified bodies. It is not a sin to be tempted. Don't let it discourage you. Christ himself was tempted! (Even By Satan himself right before he started his ministry.) The Christan walk is resisting that temptation, and when you fail to resist, getting back up, and repenting, Putting your faith in the cross, and allowing the holy Spirit to continue his work on you.

I appreciate your vulnerability. I, too, often find myself wrestling with inner thoughts/feelings about my faith. In fact, I'd offer that this is a common experience for the believer (please know you are not alone). Here are a couple things to meditate on: (1) Your salvation is not contingent upon your feelings. Salvation is in Christ alone --- that is, once you've genuinely placed your faith in Jesus, His righteousness is credited to you. This is a one-time transaction. Our feelings/emotions/thoughts are fickle and, at times, untrustworthy. Thus using them as a measure of your faith will lead you to spiral. A wise pastor put it best: Don't trust your feelings, trust the Gospel. (2) You will go through seasons journeying and wandering in the Wilderness. Have you considered that you're in the Wilderness currently and God Himself has led you there? Could He be trying to cultivate in you an unwavering dependence in Him? Could He be revealing the faith that you already have to you (for your assurance and confidence)? The "feeling" of God's absence isn't always due to sin. These seasons are necessary, intentional, and good for us because it (a) spiritually matures us, (b) reveals areas in our lives that we're failing to surrender, (c) demonstrates our faith to ourselves and to others, and (d) produces endurance within us.

@@avdouglass3 thank you so much for the encouragement. I have definitely been in a wilderness, and the funny thing is I have knowledge to know that’s where I’m at, but it gets shifty when Satan gets you stumbling on how you got there, and self condemnation. I definitely try to remember to never trust my feelings, as almost all the time they are off from Gods will. That’s what drives me nuts, sometimes, is the constant feeling different from how I should be feeling (Joy). I guess that’s potentially what God is teaching me how to trust in Him with uncertainty, and carnal deep rooted desires will fade with time, or they won’t, and they will always be the contrast to remind me to choose His way over my feelings. Thanks for the support brother , and reiteration to trust in Jesus over my stupid thoughts.

I have no worries about their diet. In fact, ketosis will improve many functions of theirs. Sorry for your friend, but that doesn't have any weight to having a healthy diet vs unhealthy diet. There are studies that show the time that people eat is more important than what they eat.
