Theodore Postol is Professor of Science, Technology and National Security Policy in the Program in Science, Technology, and Society at MIT. He did his undergraduate work in physics and his graduate work in nuclear engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Postol joined the staff of Argonne National Laboratory, where he studied the microscopic dynamics and structure of liquids and disordered solids using neutron, x-ray and light scattering, along with computer molecular dynamics techniques. Subsequently he went to the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment to study methods of basing the MX Missile, and later worked as a scientific adviser to the Chief of Naval Operations. After leaving the Pentagon, Dr. Postol helped to build a program at Stanford University to train mid-career scientists to study developments in weapons technology of relevance to defense and arms control policy. In 1990 Dr. Postol was awarded the Leo Szilard Prize from the American Physical Society. In 1995 he received the Hilliard Roderick Prize from the American Association for the Advancement of Science and in 2001 he received the Norbert Wiener Award from Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility for uncovering numerous and important false claims about missile defenses.

I tried to explain to a friend, the complexities and the history of the Ukrainian conflict. I was met with angry hostility. “Russia (Putin) launched an “unprovoked” invasion of a sovereign country. Religions took decades and centuries to develop a principle to indoctrinae people and defend the dogma against criticism. US media just took it up a notch and reprograms people through simple repetition of the same narrative. Unprovoked illegal full-scale invasion. Unprovoked illegal full-scale invasion. Unprovoked illegal full-scale invasion. Putin puppets. Putin's propaganda. Russian imperial ambitions. It just blasted from all the MSM, and you'll have to literally torture victims to break the spell.

Just he knows little about the ancient Russias radars and satellites told to him (Russian never will tell this to their people or officers, few people know that) infrared was improved in 2003 with 6 million pixels, now they have over 20 million pixels, not sure if they improved the satellites or Chinese helped. Could be both , they are able to make all satellites blank and shut down temporarily, not sure if they use magnetism or something else, the have satellites above every single western old or few new satellites , they create the satellites and space rockets , all budget was invested on defense. I definitely know little bit about older satellites, by Russian tv they had in 2019 over 20 million pixels, now more due to china helping them on more pixels in small place. They see the whole earth in real time, just think about how many bad moves by Ukraine trying to hide the weapons, they found %70 of the secret underground warehouses and blow them all . They found out everything and their far listening devices shocked me , don’t need social media to find out or hack info (that’s plus I guess) they improved spying equipment x100 , they listen very far and clear in non storm weather. Did you know the virus Pegasus didn’t work for Russia ? I’m starting to believe that nothing of western technology works against Russia anymore. 👍

The critical point seems to be regarding the level of resolution on the Russian IR detection chips as well as detection methodology. I recall a similar ecliptic trajectory being given by Martyanov, but no mention of this edge detection method. Given the recent launch of the Satellites, I keep a button on Andrei. There are workarounds for limited sensor resolution and DSP power.

Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, in an interview with Tucker Carlson 2 weeks ago, said the same things, specially he gave the same description about the low level of the people that rule the USA.

You are doing a great job Nima! Sourcing a great variety of guests. Dr. Postol is such a treasure. Clearly a good man and the kind of scholarly academic who also works in the applied world of real problems for part of his work. That critical resource is disappearing at our peril. He should be speaking in mainstream outlets and to large audiences. So delighted that he is finding the platforms of entrepreneurial, dedicated and thoughtful podcasters.

This is brilliant -- Dr. Postol and Andrei Martyanov discussing the status of satellites, rocket trajectory and Russia's early warning system. These graphics are highly useful and frankly I'm surprised our Security State hasn't restricted them. Can't have an informed public now, can we! Russia is strategic and Uncle Sam is reactive -- and no, the US only keeps commitments for short term gain! Dr. Postol is spot on. Great stream, Nima!

Dear Nima and Dear Professor Postol, thank you for this very interesting interview! Along the interview you, Nima, said to Professor Postol, that you would put the link to download Professor Postol´s slides. Have I overlooked them or did you not have a chance to incorporate the link yet? Thanks once more for your good work, Nima and thanks for Professor Postol´s time and knowledge-sharing!
