This seems like the simplest design to make even for someone with limited machining skills and tools. I would definitely use a proper 1500-2000 W electric motor though, and also some kind of flywheel for smoother transfer of power. Not sure about gearing, but I guess the faster it turns the smaller the pieces will be, and the rotation speed here seems fairly slow despite the gears - I could be wrong but it doesn't seem much more than about 500 rpm, if that (OK, now I think about it, torque is probably more important than speed, you can always put the material through slower). Also DEFINITELY some kind of chute/guard and a safety cut-out and/or dead-man switch. I don't know why a lot of these designs I see are horizontal as well, seems like vertical would be better, so gravity can do the work for you, but maybe the material would then drop through too fast? Anyway, useful video, even though some of your projects seem pretty dodgy, I know they are just kind of proofs of concept :D

I was very concerned up to the 12 minutes mark as you were using a mechaninacl gear as a transmission system. Then I was releaved when your usual motorbike chain mechanism reapear. And then you switched to a drill machine instead of the mandatory angle grinder. What a disapointment! (don't fill bad about my joke. I admire your creativity. Just making fun of the repetitive motion system that comes in most of your videos).

Poor design. Not universal. Lots of places he welded where he should not have. Small gear, for example, should not have been welded on rod. Anything needing replacement or change very hard because it's 90% welded..
