The wood chipper is a very useful tool, especially now when firewood prices are constantly rising.
In this video, we decided to make a two-shaft chipper that can also cut branches that are too thick to the right size.
The maximum diameter of the branches is about 7-8 cm, but thanks to the cutting blades, we can cut wood with a diameter of up to 15 cm in half and quarters.
The tractor has a power of 18 HP
The flywheel weighs approximately 15 kg
The structure of the mechanism is made of 8 mm sheet metal and 200 mm C-channel.

Amazingly done. Safety tip: Never stand in front of a wood chipper, you can be pulled in, always stand to the side. Be safe!

Very nicely designed and built. It would make short work of cook stove wood, and kindling. You might need some shaft end bearing support on the little splitter, sooner, or later, but that was neat.

Great job. I have had to shred branches with an 8-blade shredder and a 4-blade shredder. I was very happy with the 8-blade shredder, the short pieces fit perfectly in the bag, even the thin branches, which I wouldn’t say about the two-blade shredder, were very disappointed with it. The branches fall, cross and the bag fills half empty.

I have a rocket mass heater stove and those pieces are the perfect size for burning to heat my home. Instead of carrying larger logs you can carry these in 5 gallon buckets. Since my heater is in the basement it would be easier to carry buckets down and just pour into the burner. I use an electric hack saw to cut branches like that which is time consuming. Thanks for sharing the video. 1000 thumbs up

THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!!! I wasn't sure what the splitter blades were going to end up being until the very end when sheet steel around it..... I thought it would be for removing branches maybe, but that just didn't make sense.... I think maybe you need to add one more piece on each side of the blade to pull the tree ALL the way through since I see how some of them need to be pulled all the way out.... but I KNOW you can handle ANYTHING that needs fixing!!1 YOU ARE AWESOME AND I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!! This makes me proud to have Polish ancestors! :D

Automatic machines like this always make me uneasy, with a few exceptions that need to be automatic, like a lathe, things like wood splitters and stuff like that turn into death traps when you make them automatic, or worse, fast. A wood splitter I used at a place I used to work, while It probably could have been quicker, worked slow and split big logs into pieces by having you pull a lever. It can automatically move backwards, so you can set it to be open for the next log while you go grab said log, but it would NEVER automatically drive the splitter forward, because that's how you would break all the bones in your arm or fingers if you managed to get them stuck between the stop at the end and the log
@zermati
@zermati 2 жыл бұрын
The machine in that video makes it look like you could easily feed your arm in the splitter part while pushing a log forward. e: I watched it again and that thing is a death trap, lol
@wombatillo
@wombatillo 2 жыл бұрын
@@zermati You could get something snagged in a branch or a crack in the tree and get pulled in. Equipment powered by tractor power splines are insanely dangerous. Even a small tractor has enough torque and power to pulp human beings.

@rampagent9226
@rampagent9226 2 жыл бұрын
I will add onto op comment that no matter how safe you make it, without proper maintenance even the best designed system can break down. Have a log splitter attachment on my grandads tractor and the lever hasn't been cleaned or had the grease changed so the lever can get stuck in forward/back position. On backwards it will jerk into neutral once the arm is all the way back but forwards has no feature.
@allanwells4886
@allanwells4886 2 жыл бұрын
Agree. Experience has demonstrated these things to be 'death traps". A man died earlier this year in NSW, Australia by getting sucked into a commercial woodchipper; tragic. I've envied some of the homemade log splitters shown on KZbin because my hydraulic splitter is so slow; BUT it has safety features built into it's design. Nothing automatic about it. I'll take safety over speed anyday.

Hey, made-in-Poland workers, I'll suggest you to make a door panel to cover the Wood terminators blades and allow no dust to get inside while it is kept in storage, but the door panel should open up to be a conveyor ramp so it is easy to load trees into it and also help you from getting injured from wood terminator's blade when you get caught up in the tree branches you are putting in wood terminators blades and get stuck out of the blades on the conveyor itself and avoid serious injuries or loss of a Limb/Fingers.
