Nice aircraft twin turbo for good high altitude flying on Jet A fuel with retractable gear! Only downside is the range.

This DA50 is just what GA needs. We are flying around in aircraft designed 50 years ago, running on fuel that is getting hard to find. This appears to be a huge leap forward in performance, comfort, safety, and efficiency which is just what GA needs. Kudos to Diamond, this is going to be a huge success.

What a machine. Diamond is consistently making beautiful functional airplanes. Truly innovative, and bringing GA into the modern world. Fantastic. As a side note, I audibly gasped when Martin said he ha 6'7. I am 6'5 and always have issues fitting in airplanes, so to see him comfortably fit in there is awesome!

Well, this is a high Performance Single Engine Airliner. Woow, just great! Perfect job to Diamond Aircraft. The Design steps forward and Cirrus steps behind. By today Cirrus seems to be old school, compairing to the DA 50. I truly think, there is a modern innovative airplane borne, giving other manufactures the bottom of the line.

Shes’s beautiful! Just completed my instrument rating in Cirrus SR20. Cirrus are certainly great aircraft, but given the choice I would gladly take a DA50 or DA62. Just beautiful aircraft with great engineering behind them. One day I must fly one, or both, of these aircraft!!!

Last time I did this a beautiful Bonanza showed up, not a DA 50 but wasn’t too shabby! I must say I never got goose bumps just looking at a plane, as much as I like the SR22 the wingspan and retractable gear on this does the trick for me, simply gorgeous!!

Out of all piston airplanes DA's are just pure... Diamonds in terms of how they look and fly. Was fortunate to fly DV20 DA40 and DA42 and I totally hope that DA50 would be great plane to have at own hangar!

Normally I’d say that twin engine variants of aircraft look the best but this single looks much better than its twin counterpart, the DA-62. Its proportions and stance are near perfect!

Funny you say that. According to Plane and Pilot, the DA62 was actually developed off the already well advanced design of the DA50 before the latter was put on hold. I’m working on my instrument now in a diamond DA 40. I did my private in a PA28-161 ii and got a small amount of time in diamond DA20s and I really have to say I hope I can fly the this craft one day.

I‘ve made my MEL rating on the DA42 and totally loved the airplane. Recently I had the opportunity to fly the DA62. What a marvelous airplane, Diamond is with no doubt top notch of GA. Can‘t wait to fly the DA50RG. One point of criticism: The G1000 would not be my display of choice, maybe a G3000 can be an option for future Diamond developments. Anyway, regardless if HK36, Katana, Diamond Star or the others: Diamond aircraft have always been a pleasure to fly (and maintain!) urleiwand!

Love it! Have to start saving up ;) I'm currently flying my PPL training in a DA40-180 and DA40NG due to my height. They're great aircraft but I'm 6'6" and it's a very tight squeeze, I have to pull the rudder pedals far forward so my shins clear the lower panel extension. It would be 10x better without that part. How does Martin cope in those?

No space issues...but I am curious about that forward view. How is it for VFR flying with such a long nose and narrow windscreen? Guess it doesn't really matter, as the primary purpose of this beast is IFR travel. Most beautiful modern airplane I have seen thus far! I'd prefer this over the DA62.

Beautiful plane. That 44' wingspan is a deal breaker tho. Longer than a meridian. Won't fit a standard hangar. Makes it very tough if you live in a metro area.
