A useful tip after you've finished a section that I discovered was to use a rolling pin and gently roll over the beads and you'll actually hear a lot of them click into place.

This why I always choose round drills. No matter what direction or angle, it always correct. 😀 You can also get "4 drill tips" from Amazon. Those tips are rare, very accurate, and my favorite.

You can also neatly cut the covering with an exacto knife. Just go over it lightly so you don’t cut the canvas itself. But I e never had a problem.

I do a couple of things differently. I used a scapel to run a line that cuts the paper so that I don't have to lift the paper and cut with scissors. I also use a back light and a ruler so I don't over cut where I'm working.

great video i love working with the 3,6, and 9 end pens i had to learn quickly when i did a large 40X50 pic that was so much black and im doing one now that is 90% black 50X50 (the lady with the white hat) idk what i was thinking when i ordered it but it'll get done faster with the 3,6,9 pens for sure

Can I use a clear coat spray sealer over my 5d diamond painting to protect it from dust?

You most certainly can. Some use a fixative spray, some modge podge. Depends what you're more comfortable with.

Roanne, I started diamond painting but found it a little more time intense but am working threw it. Your suggestion in working in sections was a huge help. The northern calfornia town I live in has had freezing temps. I am having a lot of trouble getting the wax to go into the pin because I think it is too cold in my house. How can I soften the wax or should I try museum putty? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you p.s. I tried sitting on the wax

@patriciasmith7922 The wax does dry up sometimes after it has been exposed to some extreme temperature. Some crafters say blue tack works as well, I personally don't find it works for me, but you can also try heating the wax a bit to soften it up before you use it. Hope that works, let me know. :)

I just finished my first diamond painting. It was the kind with round diamonds. Many of them were stuck together and a pain to separate. Does that happen with the square diamonds? If so, do you have any good ideas on how to separate them?

Yes it happens with all kinds of beads. I rub them together to try to separate. At times I even pour the beads onto the canvas and then just poke it to separate with the drill pen and slide it in place. That for me is the easiest to do when dealing with beads that are stuck together

Nette Mo You can also separate drills that are stuck together by placing an empty tray (if you have one), down over the top of the tray holding your stuck together drills, press them together and you’ll hear a popping sound. If you don’t have another tray, just find something hard that would fit down inside the tray of drills. Hope that helps!! 😊

I store my left over beads because you never know when you can run into a situation where for some reason you are short just a couple of beads. This has happened to me so I then just go to my surplus of beads and get the ones I need. Saves me from having to contact the seller.

It really depends on your preference. There is no right or wrong way, but there is one for each person. Experiment and see which one you feel most comfortable with :)

When I received my canvas it was really bent, when I put the diamonds on they won't stay straight because of the canvas being bent. Any suggestions how to solve this problem? I have tried using the roller on it and also put it under the cushion of the couch where I sit, but the bulge in the canvas will not straighten out. HELP!!!!

How do i remove the creases and or bubbles in the adhesive itself my beads just keep popping up where it has creases in it not the canvas the adhesive

HI Jamie, this is the challenge with the opaqe-covered canvases. Sometimes they have bubbles so you'll have to prick it with a needle and let the air out, then push the raised adhesive back down on the canvas. This can get tricky though if the adhesive has been raised a bit too much as it will need to be stretched apart and pressed down. Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Round beads are easier to slide for sure so with the square beads i dont do all the beads of one type in the section at once.. i do each line and place the bead that needs to be there.. Its less stressful to do this with the square beads.. My biggest issue right now is my diamond painting seems to have a letter on it and no corresponding bead so i am a bit frustrated

I have 2 different issues with 2 different extra large size (over 3 feet per side) square drill diamond paintings. The first issue I have is for a giant one with a massive area of all black. No matter what I do, the beads end up going past the area they should be in (there are no lines to outline the individual 'black' drill squares on the canvas. I've scraped all the beads off and started over twice and still have the same problem. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. My 2nd issue is also with an extra large sized canvas with square drills. The issue I'm having with this one is that I don't have a table large enough to totally unroll the entire canvas, so have to roll up the end that I'm not working on. This has resulted in whole areas of previously placed drills falling out. Any recommendation to prevent this from happening? Thanks in advance!

Buy a piece of MDF or masonite a little larger than the size of your canvas. Tape your canvas to the board with painter's tape or washi tape. Store the unfinished canvas on a spare bed or under a bed.

Oh I did? Gotta check on that, but you know if you make a mistake on a bead, it shouldn't change the entire look of the design. Just don;'t use the wrong code for the canvas in larger numbers, then that'll affect the quality of the design :)
