Thank you so much for responding. I'm nearly done with this throw & have done one section that includes the diamond stitch already but having to do a second section of it. It's so good to be able to complete it now with full confidence that I'm completing it correctly instead of second guessing thanks to you. (Hugs)

Thank you Bonnie for your reply. I am amazed at how gifted you are in crochet. I'm a bit confused by your answer. Would you mind making your answer more simple for the beginner? How many times did you chain before turning to single crochet? Thank you.

Dear Tyrnee, Sorry about that! This stitch is be a multiple of 6 + 1, plus 1 for the turning chain. Thanks for the encouragement. : ) Resting in His grace, Bonnie Barker
@BonnieBayCrochet12 жыл бұрын
Yep, I think that could be it. You will need 3 rows of sc before working the fptr row. Many times I use the last row of a previous stitch as the first row of this section, depending upon the pattern. Grace, Bonnie

This stitch is a multiple of 6 plus how ever many stitches you want on the ends of the row. Then you will need to add 1 for a turning chain. I usually use a multiple of 6 plus 2 (leaving 1 st on each end) plus 1 for the turning chain. Does this help? Resting in His grace, Bonnie Barker Bonnie Bay Crochet

Dear Bonnie, Sorry about that! You could use any number that is either multiplied or can be divided by 4, like 4, 8, 12, 16, etc. then add 2 to that number. You also need to add one more for the beginning turning chain. So if you use the number 16, add 3 (2 for the "+2", and 1 for the turning chain), you'll chain 19, and work in 18 sts (I subtracted 1 for the turning chain). You are right! This does get complicated. But by figuring out this number, you can make your project any size! bb

Great video Bonnie!!! Could you tell me how many chain stitches you chained? Thanks

I really liked the video. The only thing I wished you showed was the very first row of SC after you did the first row of diamond stitches. I'm working on a throw for my husband & the diamond stitch is one of the stitches but I'm not sure if I'm suppose to loop through the between links of the top of the Damond stitch into the sc behind it when working the next row of sc.

Also, I would like to thank you for the video - it is very instructive, so easy to follow. I only need one diamond for a 6 foot panel with 16 dc. However, I "believe" with your instructions I can conquer this pattern;-). It's a X-Mas present for my daughter. God Bless, Bonnie

This stitch is definitely not for beginners. It does assume an intermediate knowledge and skill in crochet. I'm sorry you found it so difficult. However, with practice it is very achievable. Some things in life are worth working for. Also, please consider that this video was posted at no cost you, and was intended to serve. Please forgive the frustration you experienced.

If you have 16 sts across, you should be able to get 2 diamonds from the row with some extra stitches on either side. You may have to play with it to get the look you want though. If you have 19 sts you can get an even 3 diamonds. Of course I may be of more help if you could send me a photo to my website. Resting in His grace, Bonnie

This stitch is a multiple of 4 plus 2. Have fun! Resting in His grace, Bonnie Barker

Dear Liz, You should sc in each sc and top of treble crochets across row. Except for the ends, this should be 4 sc in between each set of 2 trebles. Just try to be careful to not add stitches to the row. I hope this helps! Resting in His grace, Bonnie Barker

If I kept up with your crocheting, it seems as though you chained 56 and sc 3 rows. Am I right? Thanks

Bonnie never mind about the pattern. I think I figuire it out how do I show you a picture of it so I know that I did it right?
@NadieAchak12 жыл бұрын
(2) My pattern calls for 16 chain stitches, so I'm assuming I would have room for only one diamond - the panel photo shows only one diamond. The pattern instructions are too difficult to follow. Thanks again.

hi Bonnie. what is the main set for the stitch? i mean how many chains ?
@BonnieBayCrochet12 жыл бұрын
Dear Bonnie, I think I gave you some misinformation. This stitch is actually a multiple of 6 plus 1. This means any number that can be multiplied by 6 or is divisible by 6 can be used, then you add one more to that number. So let's suppose we multiply 6 x 9 = 54 plus 1 = 55. Then we must add one more for the turning chain, which brings us to 56. You are right, this can get complicated! But by learning the math, you can make a project of any size. I hope this helps! Grace, Bonnie Barker

Can i use this stitch in a poncho and if yes how will i do the points then -2 sc- 1 ch- 2 sc?
@BonnieBayCrochet4 жыл бұрын
Karin Vogeleer you certainly can use this stitch for a poncho, but how work the corners depends upon the method of design you choose.
@karinvogeleerversendaal4 жыл бұрын
@@BonnieBayCrochet What you recommend to do on the corners when i use your pattern?
@BonnieBayCrochet4 жыл бұрын
Karin Vogeleer honestly, this would take some time to design depending upon the style of poncho desired. You would also need to consider how increases in the corner sections will be added and how the stitch design and shaping will be impacted.

how many diamonds (across) are there supposed to be?
@BonnieBayCrochet Жыл бұрын
It really depends on the number of stitches you have in the row. This stitch is a multiple of 6 stitches plus 2 (the first and last st of the row).
