Diamond SX-100 SWR / Power Meter Lightning Strike Repair

I SHow how I repaired a Diamond SX-100 SWR / Power meter I picked up at a hamfest. After getting it home, I discovered it had suffered some lightning damage.

Does anyone else here hate that the dremel is lefthanded? I think it should spin counter-clockwise so all the debris blows away from you. Great video repair!

If not lightning I would guess that the antenna came in contact with a power line. You did a great job fixing that!

That was a good repair you made but you added some thickness to the original board. I think a scarfed joint would have been a neater repair but it would need some more accuracy in fitting it. in my apprenticeship 60 years ago we sued to hand file situations like this. Incidentally I would like to build an SWR meter and from your video it seems that the current and the voltage transformers in the form of those torroids cores would not be too difficult to make and connect. I have to look into this, and thank you for showing the details through your video.

O meu aparelho deu defeito na leitura de roe. Ao invés do ponteiro ir para o zero ele vai para o final da escala. Você tem alguma dica?

man SWR is the same to REF ? I've a wattmeter and the 3 labels say FWD, REF and SWR , FWD = power RF ? , SWR = REF or wtf?

One switch is PWR/SWR and the other is REF/SWR
