This is the same style as this engagement ring www.loveandpromisejewelers.com... . Both rings are white gold and similar size. One is a diamond 1.50cts (7.4mm) and another is a Forever Brilliant Moissanite approx 1.20cts (7mm). Demonstration is on in natural daylight near the window. Video is taken from a camera from smartphone. Pictures may appear clearer if you play video on phone.

The one on the bottom actually looks better. Moissanites have better optical qualities than diamond even though it's hard for people to admit and Moissanites will keep their excellent looks just like diamonds will since Moissanites are harder than sapphire and ruby and almost as hard as diamonds. Only diamonds can scratch another diamonds. Only Moissanites and diamonds can scratch a Moissanite.

I can attest that moissanite really has me impressed. I just purchased a 2 carat moissanite in white gold and it looks incredible. It looks just like a diamond in my opinion and at a tiny fraction of the cost. Big plus it's that it's almost as durable as a diamond. So from what I've been investigating, it beats cubic zirconia in durability.

@@danseabreeze1404 no most moissanite especially fancy shape moissanite looks so glassy and fake and moissanite are inherently hazy I could tell right away the stone on the top is the diamond coz it is more transparent. Also moissanite is porous they develop an oil slick that is very difficult to remove unlike diamonds which are very easy to clean. When moissanite started to develop grimey looking oil slick on their facets they no longer sparkle & they will look dirty and dingy.

@@pumpkindiamond994 you're absolutely wrong im an owner of both a 10k diamond ring and a 2.5k moissanite for 7 years and I have not seen any oil, cloudiness or anything that you have mentioned. If I would have known about moissanite before purchasing an expensive diamond ring, I would have bought a moissanite. Don't be biased. They both have their beauty, and honestly the moissanite seems to have more brighter fire than the diamond. This is not 1900's. Technology is here, and diamonds are not rare. Don't be fooled.

Why buy a house when you can get a used mobile home for much cheaper...why buy a smart phone when you can get a flip phone and why get haircuts when hair is natural and supposed to grow that way. Lucky for you I have the answer. Its because people get what they want, or can afford. @@Pmc210 You just need the right jeweler to sell you good diamonds at the actual price. Real diamond or not, that is someone's choice. Personally, diamonds for me are an investment. Because tomorrow you know you can sell it out if anything. The same thing with yellow gold, I invest in a lot of 22k or 24k for the jewllery I wear. People spend the money on gems and gold, because tomorrow, you'll be able to sell it off and make money. So it's an investment if you buy it from the correct places, not the big retailers who need to make a profit, like Spence Diamonds or Tiffany etc..

Diamond doesn’t refract more light than moissanite. Diamond refracts a higher percentage of white light (brilliance) while moissanite refracts a higher percentage of colored light (fire). Cut will play a more significant factor than the material.

A diamond's brilliance is more greyish like you dove underwater and the sun shines right through the ripples above. While the moissanite's brilliance has more colors of the rainbow, it has more fire. Thats why most of you found it prettier at first glance. They both look so much alike, almost same clarity, almost the same in strength, moissanites def can pass as a diamond under a diamond tester, so it can easily deceive the untrained eye. But yes, diamonds are not that uncommon. I have a 4 ct moissanite on a white gold setting and it is wonderful!

Edminston Martin no, a forever brilliant moissanite will never cloud over time and the company which makes them guarantees this or it will be replaced free of charge. a moissanite can also be maintained (cleaned, polished, etc.) in the same way a diamond can. it is superior to diamond in every way. it's just a tiny bit less hard on the mohs scale than a diamond and insignificantly so.

my guess was right. too is diamond bottom is moissainite. at first glance its very hard to tell so anyone can be fooled easily. but the fraction of light is very different. as you moved your finger it became obvious that the one on top has more brilliant cuts. and it reflects all the light in any angle it moves. however the one in bottom shows some dark circle pattern when you are moving you finger. so the brilliant is less from a certain angle. its very interesting though :) by the way im not working in any jewelry store and my work is not related to diamonds/jewelry. but ofcourse for practicality reason just spend the money to which you can afford. no one will know your wearing ms🤫😊

So personally I was able to tell the difference between the two, but I kind of trained myself on it. For me, I like my diamond because I look at it so often throughout my day, however most people cannot tell the difference and when people show their rings to friends, the friends aren't STARING at it and usually the lighting is never perfect. No way to tell the difference between the two stones.

I buy and prefer diamonds over other stones based on the youtube comparison videos I've seen. But the fire of moissanite is very unique, so I'm going to buy a moissanite next, onto mention they are so much cheaper.

Does mossianite require special care that a diamond doesn’t? Anyone know? They look absolutely beautiful, but I’ve seen a couple videos in which ladies complain of their stones getting cloudy or forming a strange film-like build up.

Oils may coat them, but it’s a trivial issue of cleaning. The stone itself is incredibly durable. CZs can get cloudy over time from scratches due to them being so soft, but that is not the case with moissanite. Oil sticks to diamond as well, but I don’t know if it is less or more of an issue than with moissanite. Also, caring for the metal setting will probably be far more of an issue than caring for moissanite or diamond.

Hey there! The moissanite featured here is a Forever Brilliant moissanite from Charles & Colvard. That type has been discontinued and we currently use Forever One GHI and DEF moissanites from Charles & Colvard at our shop. To learn more about these types of moissanites and which one you may prefer, check out our blog post about them: www.loveandpromisejewelers.com/blog/forever-one-ghi-def-whats-the-difference/

wow this is pretty amazeballs. Although, moissanite is no longer cheap. You can get genuine diamond solitaires on ebay for the same price or lower right now. I've been searching and comparing for weeks now.

I felt so special that I guessed which one was diamond correctly, but it's a 50/50 shot. And it was a freaking guess. Basically, I guessed right, got excited, felt special and then immediately rained on my own parade, blowing out my own candles. I was making fun of myself. Such a tangled web of emotions....

People can’t afford same sparkle from the real, earth-mined diamonds so it’s understandable why the unnatural ones are chosen. 😮

+Shirley “Love and Promise Jewelers” K. Big price difference, but imho $950 for a synthetic stone is a rip off. And I have both diamond and some CZ jewelry, but no way am I going to pay almost $1000 for a synthetic stone.
