Diamondback At Kings Island

Diamondback is a steel roller coaster built by Bolliger & Mabillard at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, United States. The ride is located in Rivertown just behind International Street and the Eiffel Tower. When built in 2009, it was the first hyper coaster to feature a splashdown and the first Bolliger & Mabillard roller coaster at Kings Island. Diamondback is the biggest investment in Kings Island's 38-year history at $22 million (ahead of The Crypt and Son of Beast, each of which cost $20 million). The coaster has a 230 ft (70 m) lift hill with a 215 ft-drop, featuring 10 total drops and a top speed of about 80 mph (130 km/h). It is similar to Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland in statistics, and like Behemoth has staggered seating.

I'm a huge Millennium Force fan, but Diamondback is excellent and surely a worthy contender. The fact that the seats are raised and your feet are always off the ground gives you a sensation that you wont get on Millennium, plus it has several more airtime moments. Cedar Point fans shouldn't skip this coaster.

I know, right!!!! My home park is Cedar Point, but Diamondback actually beats Millennium Force. Diamondback has TONS of airtime, something you can't really get on Millennium Force. Millennium used to be my favorite, but Diamondback is my new favorite.

I would also like to say that Cedar Point fans should also try Banshee. It's better than Raptor, and that's coming from a guy who loves Raptor to death.

Banshee looks fantastic, but I don't know when I'll be able to make another trip down there since my brother moved out of Cincinnati. Raptor used to be my favorite coaster but unfortunately, Raptor is starting to show it's age. Feels kind of jerky and gives me a headache (to be fair, it is 20 year old) Gate Keeper basically outperforms Raptor in nearly every way.

orangeTadpole Yeah well obviously Banshee is gonna be better than the Raptor because it's much newer. I think Diamondback and Millennium Force are amazing in their own ways. Diamondback has awesome airtime hill and the cool stadium seating, and the MF has the huge height and awesome constant speed throughout the whole ride.
