I’ve been using the Mazo Right side and Clavo left side and I attached a Diamondback slingshot pouch to the webbing of the Mazo and one on the clavo for a little bit of extra storage and it allowed the bags to stay flat but provided so much more space. Game changer for sure.

I got mine for 37 dollars in black on a used deal from az and even at 95 I'd say if you carry that same type stuff it's really nice to use. Clavo is it's companion pouch more fasteners oriented. Like he said these arnt thin flimsy material there made to last a really long time. Mine is taking a minute to stretch out but once it does I'll be second nature. Thanks for doing the video I think I'll be a winner for you once you get the mounting right. They do have pouches like the slingshot that use 2 clips and fit between the spacing on the webbing maybe tape inspiration from that?

I’ve used my diamondback belt & bags daily for going on 5 years now & they still amaze me. The hammer holster & flat bar holster are a must. They have held up unbelievably well. Best 500 bucks I’ve ever spent.

@MM If you’re thinking about putting together a Diamondback tool belt eventually, their tool belt suspenders(Diamondback Deluxe Suspenders Tool Belts - Adjustable Tool Belt Suspenders for 4"- 6" Belts) are $50 on AMZN right now. They’re usually $120. I have one set up with their 4” classic tool belt, suspenders, left side Mazo with a flat bar holster, right side Mini Niko with a hammer holster, and a couple Sax pouches and a Holstery DriverMaster on the back. I’ve been very happy with it, and highly recommend.

I have a Diamondback belt from the mid 90's.This is when the gentleman that started the company was making them.I bought them because he would make everything opposite for us left handed people.I don't do just carpentry anymore but the bags held up great and still get used time to time.

It is nice that they even make pouches for both sides and swap them now. Sometimes that makes a big difference on how functional they are

Bought my diamondback setup 3yrs ago and I love it. Wish I would've discovered these 25yrs ago when I was framing houses. The hammer and flatbar holsters are nice and I can still grab hammer with opposite hand if need to. My advice though is to wash it first to get the stiffness out and everything opened up. I used various size pvc and plastic bottles, placed pouch in a pillow case and tied it off tight not to give pouch room to flop. Ran it a couple times then let it air dry. Once it was mostly dry, removed all the "inserts" to complete the drying. After it was fully dried, I took the pouch with both hands and flexed it to loosen up the fibers. Now everything I use fits properly, no fold overs or pocket cave ins. I too bought the same vest in hopes of my pouches would fit. Almost but not quite.... I'll have to do some mods on the vest to get it to work. I do have the wide 6in belt and shoulder harness, very comfortable. I definitely recommend Diamondback for anyone considering any of the trades as a career 😉👍🇺🇸

@MORGANSMaintenance yeah, when mine arrived the main pouch was folded and had an annoying crease. After a couple washes and air dry helped a lot.

You can use some MOLLE straps or slick strips to rig something up to attach pouches that won’t quite fit. I used grimlocks and 4”MOLLE straps to get my amprobe clamp meter case mounted to the outside of my pouch.

That's a very nice look at that pouch. It will live in the back of my mind; I could see it being suitable for a network installation setup, possibly better than the MP1X IF you are doing custom cables and need a bunch of RJ45 connectors. I like how flat it is compared to a Veto, although a MPX (I don't have that one [yet]) plus a Holstery Joey might offer similar utility (except for that speed square, which sounds like the #1 reason you like it).

everything you said is 100% correct… if I didn’t want the space for my square I would go with a MP pouch and a Joey

Curious to see how well the Velcro will hold up. The only pouch that really stuck with me was the dewalt technicians pouch. I had to zip tie the button down and tape the little poke throughs on the bottom but hey does the trick. Finding the perfect side pouch has become exhausting, I’m only 5 ft so they’re either too big or just way too small. 😅. But nice find you definitely do a follow up on some of your likes and dislikes down the road
@MORGANSMaintenance

@@lexi3627 it is hard to find things to work exactly how you want. There is usually at least one thing that you have to live with on all of them. The Velcro is pretty stout on it, I ended up adding a clip to it this weekend so hopefully my own customization holds up 😂

I’m using the eagle on left side with flat bar holster and miter on the right with a hammer holster. It’s attached to the 701 vest. Just waiting on the upgraded clip on accessories to be released. Also I can use DB Sacks with the vest system. Got a GK1 plus gun loop. Been using for over a year. I just carry what I need fer job at hand. They are not the smallest but not the biggest pouch’s. I can carry a full size and a trim square at the Sam time. FYI get your pouch good and wet load up some stuff inside and it will loosen up some.

The diamondback vests and belts have velco on the back of them so they are held in place as they are attached on the flaps. I was wondering how you got that pouch so far forward 🤔. I've seen many people modify diamondback pouches by cutting the velcro slimmer or even removing the top flap and adding a belt clip. I have a few days on mine it's a really good pouch for carpentry and I have the hammer holder on mine. I can attest some of these knockoff hammer sleeve clones fit on ot as well like the one on the Perkins belt under a few Chinese imports. If your thinking that's a cool tool pouch for electrical nope they male one for that. The mini niko is the one your looking for. These are very small and slim pouches so take them for what they are. If you want a really flat pouch for interior work these just may be it!

I can see it being useful for the electrical trade, would need a little work to get it to hang off of a tool bag though. They are seriously expensive in the UK though, probably worth looking at import options!

People fold over the top flap and put a belt clip on thay flap then sew it as a big belt loop. It does 2 things raises the height of the pouch and makes it clipable on a bag. I would still recommend the mini niko for electrical purposes.

We should start a does it fit when we do a pouch belt system or tool bag. So I'll start with this one if you wanna know will it fit in say this pouch one of us will do our best to try it out for you if we have that tool. Even if its s set of tools you had in mind we can work on that request (i have the hammer sleve and flat bar sleve too). Who are we kidding we probably will have it! Feel free to ask.

We've seen a lot of really good comprehensive loadouts here; maybe a series on more task-focused subsets? Perhaps based on a specific single tool needed for the task, then including the few that might go with it.
