Lot's of my friends call me a "Horn ball" but I find Lola's design in the first SJ movie to be unconfirmable since that movie was targeted more for a family audience so it will be very awkward to show this to the kids/teens who is starting or going into that phase where they sometimes can't control it. Even thought Space Jam 2 was a total failure I do like her redesign being more tame and fitting into the style a lot more. And dare I say, quite attractive in it's own right? Not -really- sexually but how charming she looks for an anthro bunny like Haru from Beastarts. But yeah, going on a riot online because "MY BIG TITTIES SEXY BUNNY!" doesn't have excessive curves on her body anymore is fucking asinine and if you want that and less/no clothing you can just privately go to R+18 websites all call it a day. Also she had no personality in the first movie at all and thankfully she have one in later shows that she was in (Basically don't stick your dick in crazy, but I know some people love that shit and do it anyways to get into all sorts of insane situations especially if the girl demands sex right on the spot or else she will outright shoot you in the fucking head with a loaded pistol that she got by barely legal means. @@eddiediaz5518 Iron Man 3 had some extra scenes for its Chinese release, it was actually nothing special, just Tony talking with a doctor played by a Chinese actor, a scene in China where the same actor appears for a second watching Tony with his suit on the TV and finally the same actor speaking with another Chinese actress in which they discuss the difficulty about removing the shrapnel in Tony's heart. The movie was co-procuded by a Chinese Studio so many were expecting China to be involved more in the story but in the end it was just those actors having a cameo, don't think the decision of changing the Mandarin's backstory, I was sure Marvel wouldn't use the character in that movie, many years later he would appear in Shang-Chi, but that movie didn't release in China

If they had to redesign Sonic, they likely had to redesign the other CGI characters in the movie too, namely the Echidnas at the start of the movie, Tails at the end of the movie and even Long Claw (maybe, she's wasn't humanoid to begin with so...). Okay, your examples of “sexism” weren’t really sexist. The character in The Last Jedi really didn’t serve much to the plot and honestly made the pacing and narrative less cohesive. And I’m pretty damn sure the media is payed by Marvel to do damage control when a movie of theirs isn’t well received. Captain Marvel didn’t receive “fake bad reviews”, it was just incredibly mediocre and just not that good in many people’s eyes. This had NOTHING to do with her being a female superhero. The Mario Movie controversy is just what made the ice crack regarding Hollywood celebs being used in place of actual voice talent. I fully believe that movies like Elemental and Ruby Gillman didn't bring on that level of starpower for the sake of avoiding that sort of backlash. It is a GENUINE problem in Hollywood. Every other language dub of the Mario movie had to CAMPAIGN to NOT have celeb casting, and it paid off (with most if not all other language dubs getting ACTUAL VAs for the major characters). And in this specific scenario, there was no actual auditions process for the voices in the Mario movie, they were all pre-chosen if Seth Rogan's comments are anything to go by. Chris Pratt did not have to contend with anyone, and Martinet has said HE WAS NOT EVEN CONTACTED until AFTER the movie was already in production (I think he said this in a tweet response to a question). The controversy is more than just "ah man chris pratt fucking sucked in the teaser trailer" it is the bubbling over a problem that's been growing for decades, where mediocrity in voice acting skill shouldn't be normalised just because they're celebs. Did Chris do ok? Sure, but 'ok' is NOT enough for FUCKING MARIO.

Fun fact: when I was in Glasgow city centre I had actually seen some of the areas cut off used for the batgirl movie and it was supposed to be for the motorcycle scene and you even show a bit whilst showing the behind the scenes stuff. The same happened with the new Indiana Jones movie where a portion of a different street was used for one of the parade scenes with all the band members and American flags hung up.

The Carol Danvers movie was just awful, the sexism came from the ppl making the movie, while they projecting it on the comic fans. There were ppl complaining that the OG Lola Bunny was TOO SEXY and apparently "not a strong woman" (even though she clearly was), so they redisigned into what we got. It is because those 2 complains that ppl complained back. Mainstream media twisted it, as they love doing that. You had the continuity complainers, as the movie took place in same continuity as the 1st movie, they wanted same design. Batgirl movie was canceled as screentesters hated the movie so much that it couldn't be changed/saved, apparently was either very insulting towards Hispanic ppl, it was good that moovie was canceled, even most Batgirl fans don't want the movie anymore. Either WB worst decisions is keeping ezra miller and amber turd. With Mario movie, the Chris Pratt hate wasn't even that big, especially after movie came out, as he sounded like Mario from the Super Mario Bross Show. Something pretty cool about Charles Martinet role in the Mario movie is that he voiced the character of Giuseppe (that guy who compliments Mario & Luigi's accent in their commercials) in different languages and he also voiced Mario's dad in other dubs as well, not in the Neutral Spanish dub though, there Mario's dad was dubed by the same actor who dubbed Bob Hoskins as Mario in the live-action (that was actually pretty brilliant)

Something kind of similar happened around the globe as well regarding Mario's voice. Since the Mario movie was animated and animated kids movies tend to be only shown dubbed abroad many international fans were worried Universal were going to cast local celebrities from different countries to voice the characters in the Mario movie, since all of Illumination's movies tend to have celebrity voices in their international dubs. But something weird happened, in almost all of the international dubs the Mario Movie was dubbed by professional voice actors, for example here in Latin America Mario was voiced by the same actor who voices Master Chief and he did a great job. I don't know if Nintendo made sure Universal took extra care for the international dubs but it was a pleasant surprise On the other hand, Sony hired a bunch of influencers to voice some of the Spider-People on Spider-Verse 2 in the Neutral Spanish dub, that wasn't well received, especially since the ones who voiced LEGO and Spectacular Spider-Man are somewhat controversial influencers

I know he didn't touch up on it, but for me Ghostbusters 2016 was just an absolute bore. I watched it (online, because I wasn't going to spend money on something that looked like a 4 out of 10 from the trailers). It also felt like a missed opportunity. Rather than it be a passing of the torch, where you have the old cast show up, but they're old, and unable to do half what they used to, and then have them see people who could be replacements (I have a brief scenario in my head of how that would have worked), the director seemed to actively try and piss off fans of the original, while at the same time having no idea what the original worked. Oh, and don't get me started on that won ton "joke", that just irritated me. All 4 women felt like they were trying to be Bill Murray, and were failing at it. And as for the ending battle, well, when it appeared, I no cap said out loud "Oh, Hi Oogie. Why aren't you in Halloween Town?". It was just a really bad film, that could have been great if the director wasn't so preoccupied with making the OG fans as angry as possible

There was also the whole Gadget marrying that fly controversy, but that was more on the Russian side because it's basically the N°1 cartoon waifu for them. And to be honest, I side with the Russians with this one, not because I like Gadget that way or because of what was in the movie (which was still weird, that fly iirc was supposed to be like a pet in the show, and it did felt somewhat mean spirited towards the fans), but because of the amount of assholes drawing disgusting shock value shit and porn for a while just to anger the russians. Fun fact about space jam 2's debacle: While people were upset that they were going to change Lola, it was only *ONE* of the multitude of complaints and worries surrounding the movie. This was brought to a painful head when a notable youtube critic who apparently is afraid of breasts yet creepily talks about them non stop brought the issue up, but instead of addressing anything outside of Lola's redesign, just went "Lmao space jam 2 will be great it's just butthurt furries who want rabbit boobies". Turns out the movie sucked anyway.

The movie was not memorable at all now that I think about it. Also yeah at the time I think people were also mad about Pepe being banned from the movie adding huge fuel to the fire of the movie, and WB then seemingly redesigning Lola to have less bust. It’s not too uncommon for xyz character to be censored for being too hot sometimes, so that’s where people got so jumpy about it. Still though that movie was just a bunch of 1-note references at most now that I look back on it.

The celebrity voice casting thing annoys me so much because there are plenty of celebrities who can voice act and they aren’t being prioritized. Gabriel Iglesias (famous stand up comic, also voiced Speedy Gonzales in space jam 2) did a bit about it in one of his recent specials. That man was ready to voice the whole cast. But instead the execs just pick the bigger name most of the time. Still cracks me up that the DC league of super pets movie poster has Dwane Johnson written bigger than the name of the movie.
