Hello! I loved watching this video. I enjoy them there amazing. I had gone camping with my daughter and found some foot prints of a bird or small dinosaur. I don't know what I did with the print now though. The area we were at was a lake shore resort outside NewYork. I even picked up some shell's.

The tube thing was made out of the same material as the grey shale so it must have been marine in origin. If it were chalky and crumbly and from the much higher layers I'd say Mastadon Tusk, but I saw no central ring in the end you showed.

Thanks for showing your videos. I used to collect in Texas and this reminds me of what I am missing. One comment is that I wish you would have kept that ammonite (14 minutes in) intact in the matrix. I know it is hard to carry out but that was an amazing artistic piece. Also you lost the point of the keel that went out over the entrance of the ammonite - these are not common and would have been so nice to see intact. Great videos - thanks - Jack from whittlesstone.

Just my opinion but when I can collect the fossil AND the impression it sits in, I always try to keep both parts. There’s nothing like picking up an ammonite from its resting place in the rock then being able to do that once both are on you shelf.

Was the long thing you found palm tree. Found similar on a creek in Crocket Texas where they were digging a pond. Cut it open and it. Was blackish inside. Check the next one you find and take it home and cut it. To bad you didnt take it home. Looked exactly like yours. It was around 9:13

Hi 🙋, first time viewer. I'm a fossil & geode/agate collector. Those ammonites are impressive! The biggest I've seen! I'd hurt my back carrying out all the one's I'd want to keep! Hint, the golden colored one's are usually hard to find. 9:20 Didn't get a good enough look. Do closer, slower camera views at all angles for answer's. You know you can use a Dremel grinder & sealant for the cracks to perfect your finds. Just sayin'. 🤷 You made me cringe when you said you were going to cut those ammonites! 😱

Was that a pay site you were on? When I was in Cub Scouts, my den mother took us out on their property to a dry, rocky creekbed where we found several, with one of them very large and complete. Since we were kids, we couldn't lift it, so we left it there. Now I have an eight year old son who is interested in learning about fossils and mining gemstones. We live just south of Dallas, so I know there are these types of fossils in the area. Now that it's getting cold and I don't have to worry so much about rattlers and copperheads, I am going to start taking him fossil hunting. I can't wait till he sees your video, hopefully this will get him off of Roblox and Fortnite!
