🪑👋 Hi, it's me: an overthinker with raging anxiety 😅 I often end up 'lurking' in fandoms I'm in (i.e. watch and enjoy content and creators, talk about them in my personal life but never leave comments or engage) - simply because I have too much anxiety over my thoughts being taken the wrong way or being judged for commenting on a video a week/ weeks after it was posted. Super silly anxieties, I know! Doesn't mean they're not there 🤭 I couldn't imagine how it feels as a creator, and I thank you for your wonderful videos! They truly truly bring joy to my life ❤ 🌿🌿🌿🌿

Nice Wip n chat. 🪴🌺 parenting is a big undertaking. Letting children know you are human is all part of growth for all of you. I cried lakes of tears raising my kids. I got lucky, they are awesome people and made lives of their own. I have 2 grandchildren now. I did the Mom thing twice.. whew!! Stay strong. I'm enjoying working on 2 kits, one round one square, it's been fun going back and forth. I'm usually a one at a time project person 💜🎨👩🦳

Oh...one more thing I forgot to mention...I was laughing at your kids thinking being born in the 1980s was old (that's when I graduated). My daughter was born in 2003, so she never knew anything before the 2000s. When she was in 4th grade, I was driving past her future middle school and said "look honey, that is going to the next school you go to. Mommy when there too when I was your age". Her eyes got real big and she said "mom...that means that school was around in the 1900s. That's really old ". 😂😂😂 any year with a 19 in front of it is ancient to her. It both makes me laugh and want to cry LOL.

You are sowing well into your relationships with your children by keeping short accounts and apologizing for missteps. By doing this you are building a strong foundation toward the future when they will look at you as someone who is in their corner no matter what. Did this with my kids who are now in their thirties and they recount the positive effects of this practice on their mental health.

My husband and I are trekkies too. We're older and love the original the most. Years ago, we went to a Star Trek Convention in Scranton PA and saw Leonard Nimoy (Spock). He was so funny 😅, which I hadn't expected. He told a story about how they never expected Star Trek to become as popular as it did and he still had his phone number in the phone book...he talked about how fans would call the number and ask to talk to him and be shocked when he answered the phone. The convention, overall , was great. I highly recommend and hope you get to go. Btw...Jonathon Frakes is from my hometown, Bethlehem, PA. His parents still live here and he graduated from my same high school. He is well liked and respected around here. Great guy. I have never had the pleasure of meeting him myself, but hope you get the opportunity. My son is special needs level3 autism with seizures, so I understand not being able to just get any babysitter and not being able to pick up and go when you want to. Glad you finally got your kitchen done. Love the new WIP. Can't wait to see it done. Have a great week, Katie!

Katie you are so inspirational to me. First let me say congrats on the kitchen!!! And kudos for teaching the children when to apologize. Thats definitely something of value thats needed in todays world. I did a kit that had that aged parchment look. It was Marine to Life by DAC. It was on the border as well and is a very beautiful effect. I have a few of the Randa's Crafty Corner putty too and I do love the smell and how it handles. I want to try the DAC but I dont like floral smells that much so I will probably get the unscented. I hope they come out with more scents as well. I can relate to overthinking something. I am guilty. My mother tells me that I will analyze something to death! Sometimes she says just let it go Quinell. LOL!!! I honestly cant help it. Sometimes that is the only way I can make something make sense to me. And anxiety!!! Yeah its thru the roof sometimes. I completely get it. I still hate the fact that you feel the need to apologize for certain things sometimes. You are so sweet. I cant imagine anyone misunderstanding you. As far as your Autism diagnosis. I will email you. I do have a question but you absolutely dont have to answer if you dont want to. Thats why I will email you the question. I always enjoy your wip and chats and I was working on Everest for the Dakotathon today. I also worked on the HAED SAL as well. I love to cross stitch as well. I dont crochet or knit as much these days but they are still part of my hobbies too. 🪴

Most kits restock so this gives me a chance to sit with it for a while (and possibly decide against). I didn’t buy anything Saturday but sent 3 to the wishlist. Also, that video about the negative comment made my heart hurt. People are just not careful with their words, not understanding that tone of voice doesn’t translate. 🌻

I think it would have been okay to hold a Dragon event and explain that you were inspired by the Year of the Dragon. I don’t think it would be cultural appropriation done that way. Most of the streaming sites have commercial free anime, and if you want something chill I suggest Studio Ghibli. I’m waiting for the second season of My Happy Marriage to pop up on Netflix. The kids 80’s comment made me smile. I remember when “30 Something” was on and I’d think Dear Gawd these old people have issues and ewww with them and their sexytime. 😂😂😂 Perspective and its workings are mind boggling. I’m glad your home is back to your liking. I think neuro-spicy people need our homes to feel/be “right” because its our refuge from the “everything” else. Anywho, love the cover minder and thanks for the Wip & chat. 🪴🪻🌾

🪴🌾 I normally save your wip and chats for my monday evening listening while I diamond paint, but I needed a distraction from work this Monday. So two things. 1. Taylor question: I'm too old to really be a fan but I like what I hear. It keep seeing videos and posts about easter eggs that are in her videos and posts, and there was even a QR code put on the side of a building downtown (Chicago) that I guess brought people who scanned it to something taylor related. So, do you think these are her ideas or does she have amazing people, or both? 2. Autism questions. What, as an adult, prompted you to get tested and what is the test like? I struggle with something but Gen X kids were sort of left to their own devices so curious as to the prompt as an adult. Secondly, I don't ever remember hearing about autism when I was younger, and I've heard conspiracies about how it's caused by vaccines, etc. What are your thoughts on why it seems more...prevalent now? Did we just get better at looking at the brain? Thanks Katie! Have a good week.
@DiamondsandWashi6 ай бұрын
Glad I could be a work distraction! I’ll respond to your autism questions in next week’s video ☺️ But as far as your Taylor question goes, I think that a lot of it is her but that she also surrounds herself with a fantastic team of people. She loves leaning into Easter eggs and mysteries for fans to decode, and I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the ideas are from her directly!

Yay kitchen! I agree about being intentional about your stash and being inspired by Lisette. It's not realistic/the right choice for me to completely stop buying, but I have pared down my stash a bit and have managed to only pick up two so far this year, and both with points. I'm tempted by some restocks, but have stayed strong for now, especially resisting those giant kits (they're just getting bigger and bigger!). My stash is still sitting at 5 years at my current pace, which is just not realistic. 🪴
