Here are three reasons why Diana doesn't sound human. First, she is a dramatic contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

Welcome! Who is Diana Ankudinova? Diana was born in May 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman who gave birth to her had many pregnancies, only Diana survived ... and she abused the child and tried to drown it. One day this 3 year old child was found at a bus stop with a broken collarbone and taken to an orphanage. There she finally found love ... by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist who treated the children from the children's home. Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old. Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared, but she could all sing songs from cartoons. A doctor recommended singing lessons. And so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started … Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her range C3-D6). Diana's voice also sometimes has a polyphonic undertone. You hear: Her voice sounds an octave below the singing voice. (But not everyone can hear that.) Diana also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl. Diana impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions. In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered a unique competition and won twice. This project is unique in the world, an international TV- competition: 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children. The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to KZbin and soon she had millions of fans. The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship. Igor Krutoy, here as a juror, gave her a small apartment (37m²/398,26 ft²) in Moscow. There, in the small flat she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to begin her vocal training with the best teachers. 2020 Diana graduated from high school with honors as an external student a year earlier than it is 'normal'. That alone shows how smart and hardworking she is. She applied to music colleges and was rejected (examiners suspected she had a voice defect). But she is totally normal and healthy. Now she is a student at the university, at the legendary Russian State Institute for Theater and Variety Arts. There are hundreds of covers of this song and few touch me and come close to Elvis, but Diana and her trainers and musicians are smart and she makes her own song out of it. Diana sang this song by Elvis Presley in the first episode of the competition 'Шоумаскгоон' (ShowMASKgoon). This was Diana's first adult competition in November 2021. Yes Diana is a true contralto. You must listen to Diana singing the song titled “ human” it shows you her deeper ranges. You haven’t really even scratched the surface of the iceberg with Diana. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Angelina Jordan singing, but Diana is on an equal level with Angelina, but you cannot compare the two because they both have different styles and abilities. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won this competition. She shocked the other singers with the first song. Diana is a full contralto. She's got an amazing range. But if you listen to more of her music (she has a channel here on YT), you'll be able to hear more of that from her. She's absolutely an AMAZING singer. But she IS a contralto. Some of the dead giveaways there is that she does at times, sound like a male singer, and can reach those low notes with both full chest AND strength, and that she has that thick, dark sound in her lower register. She was doing that even at 15 years old. Yes, some of her videos, she was only 15 and STILL had this full, deep, resonant voice. It reminds me of Nina Simone in that she has that really deep, almost-male timbre in her lower registers. Sorry. I realize you're a vocal coach, but as a contralto myself, I just get frustrated when people are shocked at the low notes, pick out all the classic qualifiers of a female Contralto voice.... and then they call us an Alto. 😂 Diana (Dee-AH-nah) Ankudinova (AHN-koo-dih-NO-vah), has a broad, very wide range, and she's an absolutely wonderful singer. Take a listen through her channel or some of her other performances. Every single piece she sings is emotionally powerful, and intense. I love her music - even the pieces I don't understand. It's gorgeous. Gives me chills every time. And OMG it's so freaking cool to hear another voice that's similar to mine, and one that is SO GOOD at what she does!! If I can get to being half as good as she is, I will be thrilled. LOL

You can hear her polyphony in the last two phrases. And that monster high note at the end. I'm pretty sure she was in her Soprano range I just don't where on the scale that note was, maybe above the scale!! "Queen of Goosebumps" indeed!!! 😮😮😮
