I would like to see your reaction to Diana's music video "Baikal" (posted on her channel). In the video she is filmed underwater, in the role of a spirit that lives within the waters of frozen Lake Baikal (and that is singing to a boy on the ice, whom she is trying to save). @@salllah91 That touched me, sir!! One of my favorites by her is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh, It's Not Yet Evening" kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZe3moShf9d_n5I. It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song. I'm not sure how many people appreciate the emotional gasps she produces here that absolutely melt me. Pushing my luck, I must, also, mention one video of Diana's, in my sight, that is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Ornery (or "Fastidious" or "Finicky") Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life. The author of song is begging the horses to slow down (he is aware he is approaching death), but, at the same time he is whipping them along (his chaotic lifestyle) - he knows that his lifestyle is taking him to an early death, however, he is unable to change it.....the composer of the song, Vladimir Vysotsky, was a singer-songwriter, poet, and actor as well as an alcoholic & drug addict and died in 1980 at the age of 42. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqabmopvd8iKo7s . It was a huge honour for Diana to be the only singer chosen to perform this tribute to all the actors/actresses in the film industry who have passed away in the last few years. The fact that all the audience stood for the entire performance showed how important this tribute was. ----- Привет из Шотландии! @@peterhowells7309 Can not imagine anyone... - Oh, you get around! Do you have family in Bavaria as well? - It's summer here, finally!
