After her first and second appearance on this competition the head judge said to her "In your first performance you sang to us in French, In your second performance you sang to us in English, why don't you show us what you can do in Russian?" so Diana pulled this EXTREMELY difficult song out of her pockets and nailed everyone down with it. This song uses all the vocal techniques in the book and then some, experienced singers are afraid to sing this in case they harm their vocal cords and Diana gave free vocal lessons to all of them at the age of 14. The notes she hit in that reverse glissando were exactly one octave, Diana hit every note in that octave without missing a semitone, very impressive but it hardly represents her full range which is 4 times that amount, she can go way lower and way way higher than this. If you want to listen to her sing a similar song but at the age of 18 then you should listen to "Crow", her cover of that song was so legendary that the original singer felt threatened and puled legal means in order to prevent Diana from ever performing "Crow" again. I was unaware of the Crow debacle. She, and anyone else, should feel honoured if Diana puts her voice to their songs. Some people are just selfish and stupid I guess.

It is quite petty and sad that Linda took this action toward Diana, rather than appreciate what she did with the song as a cover. She could, rather, have taken the classy approach and proudly allow the mantle to be passed to the exceptionally talented young phenom, Diana. Diana's version of Crow is incredible and it is so disappointing that we cannot enjoy new performances of this song by her.

@@Zepherian Diana did not say anything about this, her videos of "Crow" started to disappear both from her channel and from her playlists, then in one of her concerts people asked her to sing "Crow" and Diana said that she is not allowed to anymore. After that people learned that Linda bought all the rights to the song and prevented Diana from singing it. To think that Indila still has absolutely 0 problems with Diana singing Derniere Danse which is arguably the most popular of Diana's covers and then Linda acted like that is just sad...

@@Kwstas_Vagias I have noticed Diana is very elegant in the way she handles adversity in her art. It's like after the hard start in life that she had that these petty things do not bother her too much. Shows strength of character and good morals. What Linda is doing is holding the bird tight so it won't fly away, and someday she will open her hands and be surprised it is dead. Artists need to let the bird fly if they want the credit of raising it. Or even to be remembered at all :)

Now she is 20 y.o., she has definitely the most powerful female voice ever and she is very, very good singer. The song "Rechenka" (affectionate from the word "river") is a Russian folk ritual wedding song. There is a version that this song appeared before Christianity, and since early Christianity and paganism were closely intertwined, there are many versions of this song. It tells how an orphan girl comes to the river and prays to the spirits of nature. The song is about how my mother, father and brothers were killed by enemies, there is no one to take care of her. The river in Ancient Russia was considered the border between the world of the living and the dead. You hear an ominous whisper, it's the spirit of her late mother responding to the girl's crying. There are about 30 variants of this song, but the content of each of the variants is based on the sad appeals of the orphan bride to her deceased parents, asking them for "blessings" and help for marriage, for family, to strangers. There are other versions of this song, where the heroine appeals to her brothers and even to her parents with a call to return to earth in the form of a bird to her native home. At the end of the song, the girl sails away to a strange tribe, to a strange family. The roots of the song go back to ancient Russia, it is a very, very ancient folk folklore.

She's magical...only 14 years old here. Have you seen Diana Ankudinova's DUNE official soundtrack cover from last month? Diana was live on stage singing Paul's Dream from Hans Zimmers DUNE soundtrack with a full orchestra. It's epic, powerful, tribal and magnificent. It's on her official channel (she has 3 of them) Diana Ankudinova Life. She has two performances uploaded. I prefer the St Petersburg one because of more close ups...but good lord, check it out if you are a DUNE fan or a Diana fan. If you are both, it's a MUST SEE. It's almost as if we got to see her live before the Arrakis mother ship came and picked her back up.

This performance, which I first watched in 2019, was my introduction to Diana. I binged on everything I could find then and have watched her grow even more amazing in the following years. She is so unique and mesmerizing and full of life and personality. Did you notice when she was picked up and put in the boat while yodeling her sound didn't waver in the least. It was rock-solid. It was also great to see her proud foster mom toward the end who deserves so much respect and appreciation.

If you watch her sing Wicked game you will notice 3 of the judges press there buzzers early & Igor Krutoy doesn’t press his until a gap in her singing nearer the end so he didn’t disrupt the song, so that is why they all waited for a gap & did it together.
