Oh, Diana, Diana…the amount of control she has over her voice is absolutely mind-blowing. Not a hint of struggle or strain on those stratospheric notes. She has perfect vocal technique and breath control. By the way, the “two-tone” thing you were describing is referred to as “polyphonic singing”. You could search it up an KZbin to find examples of what it sounds like. Whether or not she actually possesses this ability is still debated- I am not entirely sure myself. Whatever goes on inside her throat while she sings is too complex for the average person to understand. Some vocal specialist or sound engineer could do a whole case study on how her voice is produced. Whatever the case, it’s always a beautiful result. Obvious vocal talent aside, I think the girl might actually be some kind of artistic genius. She describes herself as an introvert but absolutely thrives on stage (as you can see from her interactions with the audience). It’s very easy and comfortable for her. She claims that she’s never experienced stage fright, not even as a child. You might like to see some performances from when she was around 14-15 years old. Some really remarkable stuff came from another TV singing contest that she participated in at that time.

Thank you for your reaction to Diana Ankudinova! In her first name the stress is on the first a. In her last name the stress is on the i. The stress of Russian words is a bit unpredictable. You have to look it up or ask a native speaker. The English Wikipedia is not a great help. The Russian Wikipedia puts accents on the stressed vowels in order to help us with pronunciation (Диа́на Анкуди́нова).

This is Diana's song for an exam two days earlier. Spontaneously she decided to present this song to the audience and since she didn't have any music file with her she just sang acapella. Her pronunciation is very clear and even exaggerated but therefore with a somewhat harsh accent. This song released in 1967. The original singer is: Udo Jürgens (*1934 in Klagenfurt, Carinthia, Austria; †2014; Austrian and Swiss citizen, composer, pianist and singer) A German Schlager expert said about him: 'Udo Jürgens sang songs that really moved people. ... He accompanied West German society for decades and was always close to social developments - or often a bit ahead of them.' His career spanned almost 60 years. Stylistically, he can be classified somewhere between hits, chansons and hits and in 1966 he was the first Austrian to win the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson (today the Eurovision Song Contest) with "Merci, Chérie". I myself didn't particularly like this singer, neither as a person nor as a singer. The lyrics of his songs are very good, often different from standard pop songs... but they were written by others. It may sound strange, but Udo Jürgens' voice has no sound to my ears... unlike Diana's. She could sing me the phone book. I would be delighted. I don’t know if it’s just me but I really like how her accent carries to other languages. I find it charming. Recently I saw a short clip of her saying a sentence in perfect English (speaking, not singing) and thought she sounded adorable And yes, I agree…she could sing anything in any language and create a vocal masterpiece

Now that you have officially been introduced to Lizzie and her awesome power, you need to see her with her band Halestorm One of their favorite songs to perform live or anytime is called "Love bites and so do I" As a fellow fan of Lovebites, they got their band name from this song and are huge fans of Halestorm and have you performed with Halestorm here in the states. And that video you can see just how small Asami is, because Lzzy towers over with her high heels. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Halestorm and you will be amazed at just how good they made music for so long. On a side-note as well, Lzzy is one of the sweetest and kindest people you'll ever meet in your life. She has a smile of an Angel and is always helping younger bands come up and make their Mark, she even gifted Danny from The Warning a brand-new Gibson guitar.
