Mesmerizing. Haunting. Great words to describe Diana's performances. The Cher comparison is, to me, spot-on. This is the first performance of Diana's I ever saw, and immediately made the same connection. The show is "You're Super" from Russia. My understanding is it gives kids from rough or disadvantaged backgrounds a shot, a chance to shine. The bald guy you see is Igor Krutoy. He's both a producer and composer. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. First, the two of you could be sisters. Second, Diana is a True Contralto who just happens to be polyphonic as well. Read her back story, from abuse and abandonment on the street, by her mother, with a broken collarbone at age 2/3 and mute. Rescued and adopted by a loving family, music was recommended as a way to bring her out of her shell. The rest is history.

YES!! You are one of the very few people (outside of Russia) to pronounce her name correctly! This is not The Voice Russia. The show name translates to "You're Super!". Diana is the best singer in the universe!! She is a natural contralto with impeccable voice control and an amazing vocal range.
