No Autotune, this is Diana! 😊 This was 15yo Diana singing in an amazing Russian project "You're Super" for abandoned/disadvantaged children because Diana spent some years in an orphanage when she was 3yo. She is a natural dramatic contralto (VERY deep!) which is rare in females but exceptionally rare in someone so young! Diana also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones, so sounds like more than one voice when she sings, multiple voices sometimes! Diana was born way over in the far eastern side of Russia in Primorsky Territory, northeast of Vladivostok. Her adoptive family moved to Togliatti, in western Russia near the Volga River then after Igor Krutoy (a famous (DIMASH?) composer/producer) gifted Diana an apartment in Moscow she moved there and still lives there! Но это не просто желание удивить парадоксами и контрастами - которое, безусловно, также присутствовало. Это, если хотите, естественное отражение парадоксальности самой нашей жизни, запутанных отношений между людьми, сложности наших чувств, когда страдание и боль находятся рядом со счастьем, а сам человек может получить наслаждение даже от своего страдания. This Wicked Game live performance happened when Diana Ankudinova was 15 years old in May 2019, when this performance was recorded when she took part in a talent show for disadvantaged teens called You Are Super and ended up winning the competition. Diana's performance showed she is a true contralto voice type. In 2018 Diana was 14 and first competed in the You Are Super competition singing the Russian folk song, Rechenka which she performed in her native Russian language. It was during this 2018 performance of Rechenka that many voice professionals started paying serious attention to Diana saying, Diana was showing a low, rich, deep, and resonant sound, and her musicality would in a few more years show she is an actual contralto voice type, but no one was prepared for the contralto sound she produced the following year! Diana has said she was not happy with her lack of a higher vocal range which kept her out of the more prestigious vocal academies. After several prestigious music school rejections, she decided with her voice teacher to concentrate on improving her higher range which can be heard in the 2021 inaugural season of a new vocal competition called TheShowMustGoOn with her interpretation of the Elvis Presley classic, Can’t Help Falling In Love. There are other performances of Diana in vocal competitions and concerts. She also recorded some videos done in her home studio during the pandemic lockdown that is stripped down and without any of the major flash, fashion, or production value of competitions or concerts. The home-recorded videos of her cover of A-Ha's, Take On Me, and Camila Cabello's, Havana, are 2 examples of what Diana did during the COVID lockdown. You can see that without the pressure or stress of a concert or competition, Diana is just having fun, and I’m sure you will enjoy them. Dont feel bad, Wicked game was my first viewing of her sing and i had to watch in 6 times before i trusted my own ears. At first i thought it was production effects but its a singing competition so i doubted that. I checked the sound levels on my computer and that was fine. after that i gave up and believed and dove head first into her songs. She is amazing, a word that seems over used today in the world of Dimash, Aurora and Angelina but it fits. She has a youtube channel with videos of her singing, practicing and even just being a goofy teenager.

Great reaction! The first time I heard her, it was "odd" to me because I never heard a voice like that. Diana is a dramatic contractor, the lowest female range and the rarest. What you hear that sounds like auto tune is indeed her voice. She has polyphonic overtones meaning more tones at one time. I believe I've read she is 1 in 5 billion to be this way. Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. I must admit I am a little skeptical about the so-called polyphonics in her voice. I’ve heard actual polyphonic singing before and it doesn’t seem like that’s part of her singing technique. It is an ability that can be learned and trained (not necessarily something you’re born with). It seems to me that the sound of her voice is produced instead with some really interesting harmonics, which I suppose we can attribute to the anatomy of her vocal tract and larynx, and this is why at some times the note she sings sounds a lot deeper than it really is. This is just a theory. Exactly how her voice works is a mystery that evades many professionals

she has a unique tone (and I do me one of a kind) that has many many over and undertones at certain frequencies.. you can see it on the spectral analysis that have been done on her. She has the ability to manipulate her larynx to darken her tamber to make the notes sound even lower than they are. but they ARE really low to start with.. Jillian is right 14 or 15 here do Rechenka and Blizzard they are the same shows. It usually gives a number in the title and that is usually her age. Of Course she won all the shows she competed in. She is Incredible. She is probably 19 present day. She is a Contralto and possibly a Dramatic Contralto but they don't usually give the actual Dramatic Title until they are closer to 30 years old.

From what I have read, Diana came from a broken family, she was abandoned, bruised, and wounded, at around 5 years old, on the streets of Russia in winter, by her drug-addicted mom who had attempted to drown Diana in a bath. When she was discovered she was unable to speak. Her adoptive mom took her to voice therapy which included yodeling, to help with her speaking voice and of course, her singing voice was discovered. She has a very rare contralto voice, the lowest range there is, and has polyphonic capabilities, which I think allows her to sing two notes at the same time. Other singers can also sing two notes at the same time, but it takes a lot of training and practice, in Diana's case, it comes more naturally. I am sure I will be corrected if anything I have said is incorrect.

Nice reaction. The name pronunciation was not bad. It is actually Dee aah na An coo Dee nova. BTW, she was 15 here. Her voice is very deep and is considered a contralto, which is the lowest voice to the female can have. She also has polyphonic which is extremely, extremely rare. That means that she can actually sing two notes at one time.

Polyphonic ( two tones at once) and she is a contralto (lowest female voice). She was 15 here. After winning this contest. The bald judge paid for her to live in Moscow to train and go to school. The first video you watch was her at 18 after years of training her higher register. She had a very traumatic upbringing to the age of 5. She could hardly speak. Because of this it was recommended to her foster mom to give her vocal lessons. She has been performing ever since. Should read into it. Mind blowing what she went through at such a young age! Great reaction!
